I like my hiphuggers, but kind of enjoyed the love triangle and would like Jake to pop in from time to time(maybe that would make Eric get a ring finally).

:guffaw:I actually thought about that too! I'd like to see Jake return for one episode (not more  ), and pursue Calleigh, so that Eric finally realizes that he runs the risk of loosing her if he waits too long to commit.
I have to admit that I too like jealous Eric

I love that idea! Although I don't think that Jake would be an actual threat to Eric, as Calleigh made her decision long ago, a possible Jake return could remind him of the past and how long he waited- something he shouldn't do again.
A nice alternative would be for Jake to come back after Calleigh and Eric had gotten engaged. It would be great to see Jake pretty flustered.
That would make for an interesting storyline; I can see it now....
Jake get revenge over the one that got away, hahaha:guffaw:. He breaks into Eric / Cal place and frames Eric for murder. It might work.
Sorry guys my imagination got out of hard.

I agree!! Or, even better: Cal and Eric are about to get married, Jake shows up, he tries to get back Cal but she firmly says: no. I know, I know, it's a bit too melodramatic, like Bold and Beautiful kind of thing...
Anyway, I really would like to see Johnny Whitworth back - he is hot and a good actor, but I don't want him to be any threat to our hiphuggers.

That would be crazy if Jake comes back to get Cal. I wouldn't be surpised if that happen b/c it seems drama follows them everywhere. It would make for great TV and probably upset some shippers.
OMG, you just captured all my thoughts in your post!! I agree with everything you said. The pairing if Eric and Calleigh was a "no-brainer," IMO. I'm a romantic and a shipper, but only when a couple seems like a natural, unforced match. And it was that way with E & C. Their chemistry was obvious from the 1st season of CSI: Miami. :adore: So much so that I wasn't surprised to learn that Adam and Emily are close friends in real-life. Their genuine affection spills over on camera, manifesting not only as sexual tension between E & C, but also true tenderness and caring that are engaging to watch. Calleigh is a character who plays it close to the vest and keeps her emotions in check, but she loved & trusted Eric so much that she allowed him get past her walls and let herself be vulnerable with him. I imagine that his leaving the CSI team and going off to Puerto Rico (even if it was just for 6 weeks) must have been heartbreaking for her. And, as you said, lady10, Emily has done a great job of capturing these emotions in a perfectly understated fashion.:thumbsup:The writers must have seen something between the characters. I know, from individual interviews of the actors, that they have a very close and loving friendship. They're best buds and the love that they feel for each other translates well onto the screen. It helps to make the Eric and Calleigh romance just that much more believable.
In a recent interview, Adam said that he "missed her face", meaning, as it does, that he missed seeing her every day. This is telling of the close friendship they have. He missed seeing her every day. She's indicated that she's missed him just as much. He was her first friend on the set. I believe her. I think that their platonic, yet very affectionate friendship is just that.
I have a friend that I met at my summer gig (Bristol Reniassance Faire) that is married and he and I could not be closer if we were brother and sister. We love each other that much so I can understand the attachment E.P and A.R hold for each other.
Written this year, Calleigh seems lost and floundering without Eric. He seems to have been her anchor. She's tried to hold onto Ryan and Jesse, but can't find her moorings. She is unable to drop her emotional anchor, and it's weighing on her far more than it has in her past. She's visibly worn and tired. The sunniness has left her. She's fighting it, because that's what she does, but it's artificial. Ms. Procter is masterful in showing that. She so needs some sort of cinimatic award....
