Well I guess it’s safe to post without a spoiler box. I for one absolutely loved the EC interaction we got in the episode. We had two scenes, they were short so that should address the concern about the ship taking over the show :guffaw:It’s not because CBS hypes it in the promo that an episode is only about a romance. I thought anyone would have understood that by now
But one thing is sure those moments were meaningful. I really like how the writers are dealing with EC and as I said before I honestly didn’t think they had it in them to do something as subtle and satisfying for us HipHuggers.
I adored the conversation in the Detention Center. How sweet was Calleigh? :adore: She didn’t sulk, she wasn’t hurt or pissed that he didn’t tell her about his forged birth certificate. She just told him that she was there for him and he could have told her. And she said all that with the sweetest of smiles. You felt she really meant it. I’m glad they changed the scene from the first draft and we didn’t get ‘let’s talk about that another time’. They addressed it right away. There was no doubt about their respective state of mind. Eric told her why he didn’t speak and it was no big deal to her. She reassured him and made him even smile. I also loved how she waved at him when he came in… like he could have missed her  Too sweet :adore:
As for the conversation at the end, that was too good. So no they didn’t run into each other’s arms. Sure Eric sped up at the end but I guess it’s understandable He must have longed to hug her when they were talking at the center. I loved the humor of the dialog. I was smiling like a madwoman while the whole exchange. I loved the joke about marriage, about the other guy not cooking as well as her, about preparing a real American dinner, about her house being the safest in Miami with all her guns :guffaw:
I loved the concern on Eric’s side. For him being in danger is something he accepts but he doesn’t want to take her into it. Her answer to that was clear. We’re an item, we’re here for each other, you protect me I protect you. No one is a wussbag, no one is taking the lead. This is about caring and being there when the other one needs it. It’s a real partnership and a real mature relationship. It’s not about falling in bed with each other and then oops “I think we’re a couple” :wtf:. It’s meaningful and that is because they know each other. The years and their respective ordeals and unsatisfying relationships have changed them and brought them to this point (that's not only me saying it, I'm barely paraphrasing the Goddess of all Things Miami Ann Donahue ). It’s something that is thought through and that is a good thing because them dating won’t be without consequences. But the love is the strongest :luvlove:
They are both strong individuals who can lean on each other because they both care. He told her he couldn’t imagine his life without her. I think she said it back :adore: She was ready to all what was necessary to get him out of that detention center. In this episode they made a commitment to each other and now they are ready for the next step… and I sure hope we’ll get a hot love scene
I loved the two kisses, they were sweet and loving and caring. It was perfect for something happening in public. I’m glad we didn’t get an exaggeratedly passionate kiss which would have totally unbelievable for two police officers basically in the middle of a square. I am glad that she kissed him and not the other way round. This way I guess no one can say it was done out of gratitude from his part. She made her point ‘I’m there for you’ and ‘don’t worry’.
So now who thinks he had to sleep on the couch like last time? We sure moved away from the ‘no midnight tiptoe’ rule from season 1… Finally!!!
And one last thing: we’re canon baby. Sorry I needed to say that
And now I'm going to try to have any work done today. That won't be easy
