    Thoughts:

1.) Eric, I love you, but CALM. DOWN.

2.) Walter guilt. I think it's good! The guy needs a little development into his character.

3.) Eric development. Er....? This is the way I feel about it: They went through a bit of extra story tinkering and shuffling to allow Eric to have his own little storyline, but they didn't bother giving Ryan one, which would have called for less shuffling. Not even a tiny hospital scene for Ryan, which would have been a relatively seamless thing to implant in the story, but there's an elaborate story around Jared and Delko in relationship to Jared? Made me think tptb went through a little more trouble to give Eric a line but not Ryan...

4.) That said, Ryan got SUCKED UP BY A TORNADO and thrown into a car. He's really back at work shortly afterwards? I know he was banged up and had a dislocated shoulder, but COME ON. How many incidents is this guy going to just walk away from? Not expecting continuity on this one, either, because tptb have never bothered before (why would they start now?). This pains me, because Ryan is becoming this guy who never takes anything from work home with him. He just seems like a guy that tptb do things to in order to get us to tune in for a little bit, and it seems like they go through extra lengths to do so.

TPTB: Ryan is not a gimmick. None of the characters are or should be treated like gimmicks.

All in all, a relatively okay episode with some disappointments. Jon's acting was great, and I love the relationship between him and Walter.

I think it would've worked just as well - if not better - had Ryan stumbled onto Jared's body after he was thrown; would've made more sense considering both men were out in the debris & both wound up in the hospital.

This episode gets a big D! If it wasn't for the apology in the end just so Eric could get this off his chest and scrape the burden off of his shoulders, him initially talking to the man in the hospital before the questioning from Hell, as well as the dog scene and Ryan's nice talk with Walter, I would've rated this much lower. Delko's interrogation tactics were nothing new since he did maltreated a dying suspect in Bad Seed and both he and Calleigh once just stood there when a female suspect died by a poisoned lip gloss in another episode. Lord knows just how many more should be at Death's door everytime they get "interrogated" by big bad Delko. Not only is this resulted in crappy writing, but is also an insult to Latinos/Latinas supposedly having bad tempers, even on Natalia's part. Way to stereotype by slowly destroying a character of color, TPTB! Hell, even Don, Danny, or Stella from New York, who are known to have been emotional during interrogations wouldn't go this low! This is why I said before that PDs need a Stetler or an Ecklie to keep things in line. Regardless of this show being written in a comic book style or whatever, it is a clear NO NO that CSIs cannot show too much emotions when interrogating a suspect. They are even more for forensic purposes than being regular cops catching the bad guys!!

As for what Walter had to go through, I am not an expert on how to protect a crime scene during a bad tornado. Am I supposed to believe that a tornado can ultimately stop and quiet down after a very few seconds of viciously pounding through an area?? I don't believe that Walter can stay in that closet for long IF a time lapse took place during the tornado, which darkened the skies and automatically brightens it back once the storm disappears without a trace. Such big BEE ESS!!!! And since when does Eric feel the need to get all unhinged after what happened to Ryan? Both he and Ryan are not as close as Ryan is with Walter. If the "writers" would continue Eric's beef with Walter on the next episode, is it clear whose side Ryan would take and it sure is NOT gonna be Eric.

And also, why all the emotional crap concerning the dead victim?? Is Eric personally involved with the victim?? Enough to harshly interrogate the suspect who is in a serious condition at the hospital??? So, I guess it's protocol to harshly scold and even name-call a fellow CSI for somehow failing to protect evidence during a big bad tornado!

A big bad D and a big insult to the assumption that a certain race is hot-tempered. No wonder Jon Togo fears that this CSI is likely to end!

In his interview this Summer Jon mentioned the show eventually coming to an end like all long running shows do at some point and he would be sad when that day comes. His statement had nothing to do with what's mentioned in the previous post at all.

Yeah, he was just being realistic that all shows eventually end (unless they're SNL or The Simpsons, both of which have been on for-freaking-ever LOL). He in no way said that he thinks the show is ending anytime soon.

^ Didn't you hear? The Simpsons is probably only going to get two more seasons.

    Anyway that's completely off topic.

I heard that they wanted the Simpsons' cast to take a paycut, but that's all I heard LOL.

I really wish they'd told what happened with the little dog. I hate when they leave things like that open. It really bugs me lol.

They did, and it will still probably only get two more seasons.

I agree about the dog. I want some continuity with that, like we see Eric at his house or something with it because the owners never came back or something. Or Calleigh deciding she would take it.

Really?? you can believe whatever you choose, but I will tell you this. I currently reside in the U.S, in the state of Missouri. JOPLIN, Missouri, to be precise. most of this country is well aware of what happened here five months ago and why it is significant. I can tell anyone that those things are most certainly based on fact, from a closet remaining standing amid a demolished trailer to the sudden silence and clarity when a half minute before all was chaos. there is nothing "normal" in a tornado, or any other catastrophic weather phenomenon, for that matter. there is plenty of "seeing is believing", however.

and as a quick aside, David has clearly lost weight between the filming of this episode and the season premier. he looks REALLY good!

And you are completely correct, elliecat.

Tornadoes normally only last a few minutes, although they can last as long as an hour depending on the amount of warm air they take in. Since the tornado that was in the episode was only an EF - 2 (although they called it an F-2, which is incorrect), it didn't surprise me that it had such a short life span.

So, y'see, CRM, despite what you may think, the writers got that fact completely right. You may want to go read up on tornadoes before claiming that something is "total BS."

...And, yes, I realize sound like a snobby know-it-all, but it does come in handy sometimes. =)

I have seen the skies here be extremely dark during a rainstorm and it'll rain sometimes for five minutes and then just stop suddenly and the skies are just as bright and clear as if it had been sunny all day. It's also happened here during tornado warnings. Storms do sometimes only last for a couple of minutes... but they can do so much damage in just a couple of minutes.

And the weather people always tell viewers that a closet or bathroom is the best place to be during a tornado (unless you have a basement or one of those underground storm shelters). Most of the time, what kills someone during a tornado is when they are hit by flying debris. If you clear out your closet enough and cover with blankets and pillows or something, it'll protect you better from the flying debris. They tell you if you can't get into a closet, that you should get in the tub (in a windowless bathroom if possible) and cover yourself with a mattress or blankets/pillows.

EF? On the news they always call it F, whatever number it is. I've never heard them say EF. F means force, right? What's the E mean? I wonder why they leave the E off.

I'm not a tornado specialist nor read whole paragraph (too lazy for that) but I don't think it's too unnatural about Walter being able to come out of that rather 'unscathed' closet.
    But it's only me.
I've watched about tens of different movies and documentaries about tornados.
I believe that part might've been quite believable. But as I've stated I haven's seen the episode yet
