"Doctor Who" Discussion *SPOILERS*

The one thing I do like about a two part-er, is that the writers can focus a little more on the finer details of a storyline. Sometimes you lose the "attention to detail" when they write for a single episode. The worst? Probably the wait.

I must say that I enjoyed the episode. Sure it wasn't quite as action packed as I had originally expected, but it was a decent lead up to the finale. And it was nice to see the team working as a team. Sure there was a little more focus on Nick and Ray, but they were the ones involved with the case right from the get go.

And Ecklie was much more tolerant about the whole situation then what he was like in the earlier seasons. I think it changed after the Warrick incident....which is refreshing to see from him.

the scene with hodges and wendy discussing ray, the "i promise" part was a little interesting
 He better not go off and do something stupid after that, like break his promise to her...lol, but maybe he learned his lesson after what happened in the season premiere.

Hodges was hilarious when he was eavesdropping on Ray! The part right before Wendy comes in and tells him about Ray not giving her his DNA. It's so funny!!

Loved seeing Ray go into the Bonanza shop where Bookgirl and Speedy and I spent quite a lot of time last November. Why aren't they ever there when WE are?!

And the scene where they found the reporter's car was right next to where they shot the abduction scene in Grave Danger.

And finally....anyone else get shades of deja vu in the building that looked like the one from A Night at the Movies? The one that had all the bullet holes in it?

I was thinking that when I saw it in the promo.

And the UNLV coffee vender guy - George from Last Laugh (I think that's the right ep.) It took me the whole time he was on screen to figure out what ep he was previously in. I kept thinking of Nash Bridges but I knew he was in a CSI ep.

Hodges was funny in his own little way again in this episode.

Super Dave was funny too, trying to find Dr. Jekyll signatures in the x-rays.

"It's an L!! A message from Dr. Jekyll! Is that a smiley face?" :guffaw: Doc's annoyance was brilliant!

I like the episode. It's interested. And I saw next week preview, Nick got show and he wear a vest. I hope he does come back on the show this fall when the show come back.

Doc was indeed brilliant with his dialog deliverance to superdave. The pair are too funny sometimes.

I was thinking the exact same thing. Great minds Smokey...great minds...

yeah, me three!!
The outside of the building also reminded me of the one that Walter Gordon blew himself up in.

My summary:

- I saw someone mention that a better title for this episode would have been “Jekyll & Heidi”. I totally agree. That would have been way more appropriate – although, I’m almost more inclined to have the title of this entire storyline as “Doctor WhoCares”. I really hate these damn drawn-out storylines. I loved the first serial killer case on this show – the Paul Millander story – so much better, because it would pop up unexpectedly again after half a season. It wasn’t the subject for a full season of boredom. Or maybe it could have been called “Custer’s last stand”? Either works better than “Doctor Who”.

- the writers tried WAY too hard to make the evidence seem like Ray was guilty WAY too many times.

- this has been the best episode for Catherine as supervisor. I love how she sticks up for her team members (Ray), and gives them the benefit of the doubt - until they don’t follow her instructions, and then she gets tough! It made me think back to “redrum”, where she was under orders to lie to her teammates.

- Ray’s “Jekyll room” eerily reminded me of Lindsay Boxer’s fixation with the ‘Kiss Me Not’ killer case on “Women’s Murder Club”. Her attic looked very similar with everything plastered on the walls.

- Loved the ‘team’ feel to this episode again. Lots of nice ‘team’ moments – like in the locker room, bringing bagels to Ray’s house, and there at the end – even if they were talking about serial killers and how one of them could be next on the list.

- Greatest line in the history of CSI:
“No, I’m diagnosing you. You’ve got the ‘whatever’ virus. Take a sick day.
The lady had me absolutely speechless – followed by five minutes of dying with laughter on my bed.

When they were talking about serial killers at the end, I felt like it could've been such a great moment if they revisited some of the team's experiences with killers..at least a little bit! I hate how they just forget about things that happened before :p I mean, Natalie and Grave Danger were pretty important things, and Sara and Nick know exactly what it's like to deal with some deranged killer.

I loved the moments of Cath being supervisor. It's about time she shows that she's the boss. Telling Langston to go home was a pretty big deal because Cath has never had a scene where she's dealing with one of her team member's problems as a supervisor.

Ranndom question but did anyone notice how Langston supposedly has a wife but his house looked completely like a bachelor's pad?

I was surprised with this episode. It was actually pretty good and now I'm looking forward to the second part.

I was so happy that Greg got the opening line again. And his comment of 'bat feces' was great too. Also enjoyed when the four CSIs were talking about Ray, Sara and Greg both had doubts. They came through for Ray - which is good - I just liked how those two stuck together.

The talk at the end in the casino about serial killers was good. Sara mentioning how Jekyll could be planning something elaborate for Ray made me think that she was remembering Natalie Davis.

Nick, Cath and Brass were all great here too. Everyone got to do a little something and I appreciated that.

And I LOVED Wendy's line to Archie about finding the "blinking thing that went with the other thing" - or whatever it was she said. Funny stuff.

Finally, I think Haskell is becoming my favorite villain. He's so freaking creepy...

Damn press release (not the spoilers, 'cause I'm not reading any)... :) The episode should have been more exciting, in my opinion.

My thoughts on the episode:
- Catherine's "whatever virus" line, absolutely brilliant. I like how she said those lines. Kind of a nagger. Just hilarious;
- It's great that the team especially Sara, Nick and Greg showed support for Ray. Also, Ray being suspended from the case was kind of a relief. Now, I can expect no to semi- Ray-fest next week. It's not that I don't like Ray. I just want the whole team to work on this case;
- Doc Robbins was annoyed. First time ever?;
- I always like Sara's presence on the show. Hope she stays full time next season.

Now I'm excited for the finale. Great episode, 9.5/10. I deducted 0.5 because of the spoiler-ish press release. I promise next season, I won't read even any press release from CBS. :)

First and foremost this episode was riveting, intriguing and Laurence Fishburne, was absoutley amazing. I'm writing to Carol Mendolsohn and group to thank them for choosing this incredible actor to play this character Dr. Raymond Langston, he positivly kicked a..:eek:I love him:bolian:

My overview & summary of this fabulous episode~

Starting with him investigating the Dr. Jekyll case on his own time and the assumption that he was somehow involved. His aura is so powerful, so convicing and beliveable. He's fantastic~

The team finding Heidi Custer, and her having photos of all the victims of Dr; Jekyll, we were going WHAT:wtf:

Cath and Ray. "I knew her. she was a reporter who covered the "Angel Of Death" case. a great reporter. Cath "In 3 days she discovered something" Ray: "It's possible she found something that we didn't"

Nick and Ray in her room and not finding much of anything but a Blue Ace club card~

Ray: "I've been following up on some of Dr. Jekyll's leads on my own time" Nick: "Ray this job will eat you alive, if you take it home with you":(

Super Dave and Doc, "Dave" I think that's an L in side the bone" Doc: It's two screws, LET IT GO" he screams:scream:

Greg and Doc, anaylyzing the death, and [BTW did you all notice that Eric had all those moles that were on his face removed?] Now his skin is all clear and smooth;)

Archie and Wendy looking at the surveillance tape, seeing Heidi and Ray go into the same bar~

Brass abnd husband yelling that "Ray is a murderer" He tells Cath and Brass about the 27 victims injected with ethanol glycol in their IV's and that Langston was a co-conspirator were were going at this point OMG:cardie: All lies, that we find out later. Cath was resistant to belive it Brass a bit doutful but not as much as Cath~She wrote "he claimed 27 times he saw or knew nothing" Cath:" I spoke to Dr. Langston and he had nothing but admiration for your wife'' She doesn't believe this poppycock for a minute" Cath was a strong force in this ep.~THe story was never published due to the fact that lawyers would get involved. I loved how Cath stood up for him:thumbsup:Mr. Custer: "He was hiding behind a lab coat and now he's hiding behind a badge"~ >>shut up<<

Hodges and Ray with Hodges rambling about Sushi and Mercury with Ray and those dynamite expressions~

Cath: "Ray my office" Ray backed into a corner with Cath and Brass and the always nasty Ecklie suspicious and doubtful person that he is and believing the worst "I'm not saying I don't believe you, I'm struggling too, and how admirable that you guys stick together but to Ray, "hands off this one"

Rays confused expressions, damn he's good~He goes over to the computer and brings up data and Nick finds him Ray: "She was following me" Nick: "why would she do that"? Ray: "cause' she thought I was connected to te Jekyll case". Nick: "You need to stay off the case & trust us" with Hodges hovering in the background listening. Wendy tells Hodges she wants to tell him something, he goes "You know me, OK this time I promise" about how her refused to give his DNA and the MOA incident where he got all riled up about violent behavior~

The locker room, with Sara, Cath and Greg, Greg:"I really like Ray, but if he doesn't trust us, how can we have his back" Sara: "And how can we have ours"

Cath and Nick on Rays alibi going over evidence it took him 2 hours to collect 3 fingerprints

Sara and Greg going over Heidi's car~ finding nothing but a bloody fingerprint~

Ray skulking about on his own on the strip and the novelty shops when he's not supposed to. This was looking very sneaky. Asking questions. What a big hunk of a guy he is:p anyway he was acting very antsy and goes to his car and Mr. Custer breaks his window and he shows his really angry side and knock hm to the ground:eek:

Brass and Cath Ray: "He blindsided me" Cath:" Yeah, I know the feeling but what are you doing here" Brass: "Ray, you've got to stop playing Det., cause' I don't have time to keep getting your ass out of jail" Cath "Take a sick day" He goes home a throws a temper tantrum:brickwall: ripping off pictures off the I never saw him like this what a once again great actorwall:eek:

Nick comes by, Rays, nice pad a Mexican Villa type home. Nick's so awesome and kind and caring and standing by Ray, who's drinking Malt Liquor:vulcan: also haven't seen this side of him. Nick is perplexed by the photos all over the floor. Nick: "what happened over here"? Ray "some crackpot theories", this is getting more weird, and more sinister:confused:He tells Nick all the places he's visited then Nick says "Ecklie isn't going to like US running all over the place" Ray goes "US"? Nick: "yeah we're a team and they shake hands Nick you doll:thumbsup: The Nick goes on the one wall "who are they" "Ray: "my family and says "my affinity for the Chicago blues wasn't the only thing I inherited from my father, guess he had a violent temper"~ Nick: "I think everyone has a violent streak in the, I know I do" bonding with Ray, so sweet~

Sara and Greg come with with food Sara soup Greg and bagels w/ bat feces" Ray I prefer cream cheese":rommie:

Jumping ahead Lobo Flats old shack in desert with guy don't remember his name and Heidi how the took kit fell on her Cath and him he's a dork and said she dropped him off at the Med Center~

Archie and Nick watching some guy in the casino always moving where Ray and Heidi are from penny slots to the $10 ones Archie does the demensions and matches the guy to the one in the hospital in "Irratiator"

So the bus boy saw Heidi's money and acosted her jumped in her car demanded money she refused and he strangled her. So all this time this murder was not related to the Dr. Jekyll oes at all WOW:wtf:

The team all having drinks together and Greg goes: "what was he doing at the Blue Aces"? Ray: "He was following me, he stole my ID, he knows what I look like, he might follow me home he could have followed me here" Their all looking around and looking confused:confused: Cath says she'd tell Brass about protection and Nick suggest he wear a gun again. Sara: " Jekyll is meticulous and takes his time he might be planning something special for you"

Ray gets a call it's Haskall so creepy and spooky & menancing. He looks around suspecting the caller is in the casino Whe he says "How's the world treating you'? Ray: "What do you want" Haskall: "wrong question" and then announces "I know who Dr. Jekyll is"

What a overwhelming, scintillating intense episode this was. I loved every second of it, and can't wait till the last one next week A+~

surprisingly, i liked it. Nick&Ray's omnipresence did not bother me that much since the plot was good. this was Ray back at what he was in the first episodes, and i can't believe i'm saying it, but i enjoyed him.

i also think that all this putting him into place was a nod towards the majority of people who complained about him behaving like a leader while he is not one. i'm actually looking forward to the finale now. :)
