Yeah if I were not in our camp I would not want to go against you...**bows to the formidable knowledge of the all powerful IHNC** Since I am in our camp however, bring on the fan wars...I'm with you and between the two of us and the rest of the amazingly dedicated brilliant D/L shippers, I think we'd knock 'em dead! :lol:

Wow, we're on page 4 ?!? This thread is on Red Bull!

OK where to begin.....

1. Just read MagpieDreamer's fic "Woebegone". It's fantastic! I suggest you all head on out to ff.net. Don't want to give everything away...just read it!

2. What's in store for D/L on Season 3? Like I said in other D/L sites, I don't want the premiere to begin with D/L in bed together. I'd feel so cheated. But I don't want their relationship to be overwrought either (like Marissa & Ryan in the O.C.) *shudders*

I don't think D/L will be boyfriend/girlfriend yet in Season 3 but they will be in the process of knowing each other better as friends. I think they'd both be a bit wary of each other. After they're sort of from 2 different worlds (country girl vs. city boy), and both have "dark & secretive" pasts. But nothing too angsty I think will happen because they both seem to be outgoing by nature and have a quirky sense of humor.I think Mac/Stella have bagged the spot as the most star-crossed lovers in the series, so TPTB might make D/L more easy-going for the show's balance.

3. As for love triangles...maybe...but not with other team members I think. I don't think Flack will move in on Danny's girl and risk their friendship unless it was a practical joke :D

I was under the impression that although they were so flirtatious with each other, Danny & Lindsay were casually seeing other people mid-season 2. Danny had "Subway Girl" and I thought Lindsay came from a date when she was in that fancy opera dress in "Risk". Maybe TPTB can draw a bit of conflict from that....

As for the foodfight, I'm running out of ammo here. I've been sick and haven't gotten a chance to go grocery shopping. Will resort to canned goods now....

*flings canned peaches....without the cans of course!*

Next up..canned vegetables!

Oh honey, you do know you stumbled into the rabidly loyal Danny/Lindsay board right? Despite your opinion (which you are of course totally entitled to) we're gonna defend this ship to the day we die! Well I will anyway...

I'm not saying that I have a problem with it. I do think that in some ways, they're well-matched. In fact, the way S2 shaped up, DL is probably going to be canon. It's just that the way I read Lindsay, I think she'd settle for someone a little less complicated. Especially with the deep dark secret she's supposed to have -- someone with an equally complicated history might just put strain on the relationship. Or, it could bring them together. *shrugs*

To each his own.

I see your point on how Lindsay could want someone "less complicated" But there's still a lot of character development in store for Danny & Lindsay in the coming Seasons, so it may just turn out they're very, very well-matched in the end (i hope so!)

Anyway, I think it all depends on how the writers work it out. As you said "it could bring them together". We should always clamor for good writing and character development from TPTB.

I'm a loyal D/L shipper but I respect your views, screamingpoet. I appreciate it that you didn't come here with guns blazing and stirring trouble.

Gang, can I ask that you slow it down a little bit, for the benefit of your fellow posters who aren't here 24-7 - this thread has been open barely more than a day, and you're already fast approaching 200 posts. It makes it difficult for your fellow posters to come in here and contribute to the discussion if it's moving at warp speed.

Some of you are already doing it, but to the rest - expand your posts: if you write more in your posts then you'll feel the need to post less frequently. Many thanks :)

and i wouldn't mind if there was already a little something between danny and lindsay, but when i said no GSR, i meant not to reveal it in the manner they did of GSR. so very not cool.

besides, i hate it when they show firsts on a show. maybe because i hate writing them myself, but to me they always seem so awkward.

ya know?

In other news...
I still stand firm to not wanting them to wake up in bed together, but here's how I'm seeing the situation.
SITUATION 1: They're already dating
For the love of god please tell us EARLY in the season. (We're of course then going to go back and analyze every other episode in this new light, which I'm already doing... I'm working on pinning which exactly is the episode where that starts... of course all just speculation :))
SITUATION 2: They're just flirting and we're waiting for something to take shape
IF they're not already dating then I wouldn't be as opposed to putting off the getting-togetherness until a bit later in the season, as long as we have enough squee moments to get us that far. :p

The more I think about it, the more I'm realizing that it'd be harder to really make their relationship go canon right from the first stepping stones - in a procedural there just really isn't the time without it ending up as taking away from the show.
I know a bunch of people have already said this, but I'm going to echo it: We need to leave the relationship in the background. (FYI: This is the practical CSI-side of me talking, not the completely neurotic shipper side). I actually wouldn't be opposed to them "testing the waters" with GSR and then developing D/L a bit later on after some audience/viewer feedback and whatnot. As much as I love D/L, I think it'd completely kill the show if their relationship was put front and center and then it started to become about that instead of about the cases. (yes yes yes NY is about "relationships", but it's STILL a procedural and not a serial/drama).

And I'm spent.

agree with this very much. what i really like about NY is it manages to balance the procedural end of the drama, which is what i love about Vegas, it can bring in the relationships between the characters, yet not get soapy like miami.

if D/L actually becomes canon, i'd love little moments between the two of them, but that's where i would ask them to be left. as little moments. if their relationship starts to take away from the cases, they're heading down a very slippery slope into soapville.
