Just as Eric and the girls pulled up to the pound. He got the call.

"Delko."

"Eric, It's Danny. We've got another body, same MO. I'm sure you don't need details, but this time the killer left a print."

"Have you ran it yet?"

"We are just working on that now. IT seems the killer is using a spear to kill his female victims, before blading them."

"Okay Danny, here's what I want you to do. Set up some officers at the docks. I'll be there as soon as I can. I Have to finish a special project with my girls. If anything changed call me."

"Okay Eric."

"Daddy, do you have to leave?" asked Sara taking his hand.

"No sweetheart. Soon, but not till we pick our puppies, okay?"

"Okay daddy."

As they walked in the girls seen all the puppies barking away in the pens.

"Oh look at them all daddy, big ones ,little ones, look at that one daddy, he has funny spots."

"Good afternoon. I'm Karen, how can I help you?"

"Hi. I'm Lt.Eric Delko, and we are here to find three special puppies for my little girls."

When Shannon and Sharon looked up at Eric, they couldn't believe Eric had called them his girls.

"Okay than. Shall we get started? In this pen we have three little brothers, they are called German Shepards and they are eight weeks old."

"Umm...lady do they poop alot?" asked Sharon.

Eric and Mackenzie laughed.

"They do sweetheart. But they are trained to go on puppy pads, and eventually they will learn to go outside."

"I like this one, how come his tongue hangs out?"

"Well...sometimes when a puppy plays alot, or become thirsty, they pant. Panting helps them cool their system."

"May we play with them?" asked Sharon.

"Of course, come on in."

As soon as Karen opened the cage, those happy little puppies attacked the girls, with their whines and cries.

Watching them interact with the kids, Eric noticed how gentle they were in their play.

"What do you think Mackenzie?"

"I think they are beautiful. But three of them, that's alot of work. I mean they are going to chew everything in site."

"Not if we teach them. It may take a while. But I'm sure Mac will help us."

"Oh yeah!!! Look at King and Kong, great examples of the well behaved dog."

Laughing at the situation, Eric kissed her to shut her up.

"So what do you think girls, should we take them?"

"Yeah, please daddy. That would be so awesome."

After paying for their licences, puppy pens, toys, food, beds, etc. The new family headed home.

"Hey mom."

"What is it Shannon?"

"There's one thing missing from our home."

"What is that love?"

"Eric. Didn't you say he had to move in, if he bought us puppies?"

"Oh right!!! Well Lt. What's it going to be?"

Looking at the girls, then at Mackenzie, he said....

"Alright you win. I'll move in tonight."

"Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay.....came the screams from the girls, who got the dogs barking.

Pulling up in front of the house, Eric helped them get everything inside.

"Okay kids, I have to go. I'll be home tonight. Make sure to put the pups out back every 15 minutes okay?"

"Okay Eric, thank you. We'll see you tonight. Come on puppies, come on, let's go play."

"Daddy?"

"What is it Peanut?"

"Promise you will come home."

"I promise Peanut. I'll be here before it gets dark."

Kissing her on the cheek, he lifted her down.

"I love you daddy, and thank you for my puppy."

"You'll stay safe, won't you Eric?"

"Don't worry Mac, I'll be extra safe. I love you."

"I love you to Lt."

Kissing her passionately, he headed out the door into another day of hell.

Awww the beginning was so cute :D

EDIT: Posted at the same time :p Can I just repeat 'aawww cute' again? I loved the second update :D

Meanwhile...

Mac and Stella were on their way to see the Mackenzie and the kids.

"Are you ready love? Are you sure you feel okay to go?"

"Oh for goodness sakes Mac, I'm fine. Now let's go see the girls new place."

"You do know Delko is living with them now, and that Sara calls him dad."

"I knew that. Mackenzie told me. She also informed me how Scott treated Sara, when Mackenzie worked. It's no wonder she loves Eric. He's an amazing guy, who has made three very little girls happy."

"Hmm...we'll see."

"Always suspicious Mac. You know you like Delko, admit it."

"I'm not admiting nothing, now let's go."

Picking up his daughter, Stella could see the wide eyed smile on her husbands face.

Over at the Yacht Club things were settled down.

"Excuse me. Are you Lt.Delko?"

"I am. How can I help you?"

"You can help by catching this lunatic. He's scaring away all my bloody buisness, and I'm good and sick of it."

"I understand sir, we are doing our best to catch him."

"You better do better. Summer season is coming up, and no one is going to want to come here, knowing there's a stalker running around, killing young girls."

Leaving the dock master talking to himself, Eric, Danny, and Flack headed over to Miami-Dade.

When they arrived Danny stopped in to see Adam.

"Hey Adam. Anything off the print?"

"Afraid not Danny. It was to smudged. I'm really sorry I tried."

"That's okay, I'll see you later. "Eric, let's go see Sid and Sheldon."

"What have you got Sheldon?"

"You know Delko, you sound more like Horatio everyday." he laughed.

"Funny Sheldon."

"Okay, all three victims share the exact same spear wound. Right dead center in the heart. Now if you look at their hands and ankles, you can see the binding is always the same, in the exact same spots. This leads me to believe our serial killer is a perfectionist, he leaves nothing out of place."

"Great. Just great. Danny, Flack my office now."

As they headed up to Eric's office, they sat down and discussed their plan for capturing the serial.

"I think the best thing we can do is set up patrols around the Yacht Club at night, and during the morning hours. Also to have foot patrols along the docks and beach."

"That seems like a good plan Eric. But what if he catched on and changes his MO," asked Flack.

"As Sheldon said, the chances of that are slim. The most I could see him doing. Is switching his area for killing them. Either way we know, he needs to have a boat in order to succeed," said Eric.

"I also think we should start checking the hardware stores, for the type of twine he is using on his victims. You can bet if he is a serial, someone is going to have a record of this guys purchases."

"You are right Danny. Okay, so we will split up. Flack and Ryan will take the Hardwarte store. You and I will check the logbook for boat rentals."

When Mac, Stella and Michelle arrived. They couldn't believe the size of the house. Outside stood a beautiful well kept garden, with the greenest grass, and small tress. The house was white, with several wide windows.

"Wow. That's quite a show piece," whispered Mac.

Knocking on the door, they heard the puppies bark.

"Woof, woo, woof, woof."

"Stop that, not nice puppies, sit," said Shannon.

Opening the door she seen her nana, papa, and Michelle.

"Papa, nana, little Michelle. Mama, they are here."

As they stepped through the door, the puppies began jumping on them.

"DOWN, SIT NOW!!!"

Sure enough those pups sat and didn't move.

"Thanks dad. They are a handful."

"So I can see, look at your house, it's a mess."

"I know dad, and I'm so frusterated, these pups won't listen."

"Have the girls named them yet?"

"Yeah. Sara named hers Peanut of course. Cause that's what Eric call her. Sharon named hers Danger, cause she says he's always finding dagerous stuff to play with. And Shannon named hers Loser, cause he can't do anything right."

"Very creative names sweetheart. How about we get the devil dogs outside, and the girls will help you clean."

"Awww...why do we have to clean? We didn't make the mess papa."

"They're your puppies right?"

"Yes, Eric said so."

"Did Eric also tell you that you had to take care of them?"

"Yes, but....."

"No but young lady. If I was you, I'd get this place cleaned before Eric gets home."

Sara cringed, and Mac noticed.

"Sara, come here to papa."

"What's the matter?"

"Is eric going to spank us, cause the puppies made a mess?"

He had never realized till now how tramatized his granddaughter was.

"No sweetheart. Your new daddy would never do that. He loves you all to much. Now how about you help clean."

"Okay papa, I love you."

"I love you to sweetheart."

Looking at his daughter she said...."don't even say it dad, I've heard it enough from Eric."

Taking her sister from her mom, they went into the kitchen for tea.

After finishing the last file. Eric headed home to see his girls. Stopping at the flower shop, he picked up a dozen baby red roses, and three baby pink ones, for each of his girls.

Hearing the car pull into the driveway, Shannon yelled...

"Eric's home mommy, and he brought flowers."

As Mackenzie gave the house one last look, she seen it was prestine. Just the way Scott liked it, nothing out of place. OR did she mean Eric?

Opening the door he said....

"I'm home, where are my girls?"

"We are here daddy," yelled Sara running into his arms. We are here to Eric, and mommy is in the kitchen putting dinner on the table."

Now Eric was confused. He was noticing a pattern. Prestine house, dogs outside, girls spotless, and dinner on the table.

"Sara, didn't you guys play on the swings today, or play with the puppies outside?"

"Of course we did Daddy, why?"

"Well, you are all clean, and the house is clean, and where are the messy little puppies?"

"The puppies is outside, we's bath them so they'd be keeping the house clean. Then we bathed ourselves, cause mommy said we needed to look nice for you when you got home."

"Oh..okay Peanut, here you go. I brought each of my girls a pink rose."

"Oh, they are lovely, and smell good. Thank you daddy."

"Yeah, thank you Eric."

It was at that moment Mackenzie came out of the kitchen.

"Hello Eric, how was your day? Dinner is ready."

Mackenzie could see the disappointment in Eric's eyes. For she realized he knew what she was doing."

"Hey girls, let the puppies in."

"But they make mess daddy. Mommy said leave them out."

"I know. But I haven't seen them all day, so it's okay to let them in."

Running to the patio door, the girls let in the dogs, who started running all over the palce.

"Mackenzie...come here please."

With tears welding up in her eyes, she walked over to Eric.

"I want you to listen to me sweetheart. This is our home. A family home, with children, puppies, and alot of messes. That's the way it should be. I don't expect to come home to a clean house, clean children, or obedient dogs. What I want to come home to is your love, and the girls love, understand."

With tears pouring down her eyes, Eric held her tightly, with the roses squashed between them.

"Those are very pretty."

"Not as pretty as you Mackenzie Taylor."

Mackenzie looked shocked. Eric hadn't used her married name.

"Thank you, they are lovely."

Kissing her passionatelty, he whispered....

"Do you understand Mackenzie? You are not a slave in our home. You are not a housekeeper in our home. You are no longer to make our home look like a showcase. Let's be a real family, let's have the messes, the yelling, the tempertantrums, I want it all, a real family."

Smiling through her tears, Mackenzie turned things around, and kissed Eric in a tongue dualing kiss, knocking him off balance.

"Mmm...now that's what I'm talking about. Let's eat."

Slapping her butt to get her moving, Eric ran off into the den, to play with the new pups.

 at the ending. "Mmm that's what I'm talking about." Love it!

Aww, he got them flowers. That's so sweet. Loved his talk with Mackenzie. He's so sweet! I know I keep saying that, don't I?

When Eric got into the den, he seen the puppies pulling on the chew ropes with the girls.

"Danger, Peanut, Loser come here boys?"

As Danger, Peanut and Loser gave one last pull, Shannon, Sharon and Sara, went flying on their butts.

"Augh...ouch, thanks Eric," as they rubbed their bum.

"Sorry princess's. My bad," he laughed.

As the dogs attacked Eric, the girls thought it looked like fun, and jumped Eric too. With them all piled on Eric, and the dogs growling and pulling on their clothes, he began tickling the girls.

"Stop Eric...please....I can't....breath..." they laughed.

"Daddy, stop daddy," giggled Sara in great laughter.

When Mackenzie walked in she seen the mess of the den. Pillows thrown all over, tables knocked over, and the girls laughing up a storm with those pups.

"Okay guys dinner, let's go."

"Hey sweetheart, come here a minute look at this."

As Mackenzie wandered over, Eric grabbed her ankle and tackled her on him.

"Get her girls, get mommy."

As they attacked their mom, with Eric's help. Mackenzie desperately tried to get them to stop.

"Augh....come on your demons, dinner is getting cold, it's Spaghetti and meatballs."

When the girls heard spaghetti and meatballs, they took off leaving Mackenzie to deal with Eric and the pups.

"Let me up you meatball," giggled Mackenzie.

"Meatball? I'll show you meatball."

Flipping her over, he shadowed out the room with his body, and as she looked into Eric's eyes, she felt the heat begin again."

"Eric.....please...I feel."

"I know Mackenzie, it's okay."

Tracing his fingertip across her lip, she carefully opened and playfully bit down on his finger, while tracing her tongue around it. Watching as Eric's eyes turned almost black with lust.

"CRASH"

"What was that?"

Pulling her up. They ran into the kitchen and seen the broken plate of spaghetti, and the pups feasting on it. As he looked at the girls, he seen cold fear. Fear with the terrifying punishment that was about to come.

"What happened Peanut?"

"I....I..."

"She tried to serve the spaghetti to us, and dropped the plate."

"Is that all. No big deal Peanut, just get another plate, and I'll help clean up the mess. "Danger, Loser, Peanut, sit."

As the dogs sat on their butts, with their tongues hanging out. Eric picked up the broken plate, while the girls helped with the spaghetti."

"Okay...all cleaned up. Now let's eat so we can take the pups for a walk."

While they were eating, the girls were trying to figure Eric out. They knew with their dad, there would have been no supper, no tv, and spankings. But with Eric, it was like nothing happened.

"What's the matter Princess, not hungry?" he asked Sharon.

"I'm hungry dad, just thinking."

Now whether it was by accident, or intentional. Sharon had just called Eric dad.

Aww that was so cute. I love how you are showing us what it was like before with actually telling us the story- if that makes sense

I agree with Natty. I like that too. Love how Eric is so calm about everything. at him pulling Mackenzie into the "dog pile". That was great! I loved Sharon calling him dad. Can't wait to see his reaction to that one.

After dinner Eric had the kids do the dishes. While he and Mackenzie cleaned and cleared the tables. Watching the girls, Eric seen all the bubbles in the sink. Walking over he picked up a handful and blew them at the girls.

"Daddy....hey," giggled Sharon.

"Oh that's it Eric, said Shannon, as she threw the bubble water on him, soaking him.

"Hey!!! you little demon Shannon, that's it." Picking her up Eric carried her upstairs, turned on the shower, and tossed her in.

"Now who's the boss?" Who's the boss Shannon baby?"

"You are dad, okay, you win, you are dad," she laughed.

Turning off the shower, Eric didn't see Sara, Sharon, and Mackenzie walk up and dump a vat of water over his head.

"Auuuuuuuuuuuuugh.....that's cold. IF I was you girls I'd run."

As the girls took off, they all hid in their moms room.

"He's gonna find us mommy," giggled Sara.

"If you keep giggling, he will."

"You know what mom?"

"What Shannon?"

"I really like Eric, and it's okay to call him dad right?"

"Of course it is. Eric loves it when you call him dad."

"Fee,fi, fo fum....I smell my Princesses, who are now on the run. I'm going to find them, hunt them, tickle them, till they laugh and come undone."

The girls couldn't help but laugh. And as Eric opened the closet, they screamed..

"Auuuuuuuuuuuuuuugh....daddy, no daddy, run."

"Woof, woof, woof, woooooooof," as the dogs howled with the girls who were being tickled.

A short time later with the bathroom, bedroom, and kitchen cleaned up. They leashed up the pups, and headed for a walk.

As Eric and Mackenzie held hands, the girls had their dogs beisde them.

"Those are some great dogs Eric. They listen really well."

"They do, don't they. It must be because they know they are with terrific kids."

When they turned the corner to the house, and unlocked the door. The girls started yawning.

"Okay girls, let's get ready for bed. School in the morning."

"Okay mom. Is it okay for the pups to sleep with us tonight?"

"Sure."

"Is it okay with you dad?"

Eric was glowing with excitment, he now had three beautiful daughters, who looked up to him.

"Of course it's okay, we'll be up to tuck you in, in a few minutes."

Once all the girls were tucked in, Eric stopped by Shannon's door first.

"Hey Princess, you all ready for lights out?"

"Yup, all ready."

Walking up, Eric hugged her, and kissed her cheek.

"I love you Princess."

"Do you really Eric? Do you really love us, honest?"

"Shannon I love you as if you were my own child. You are a very sweet caring daughter and sister. Yes, I love you very much, forever."

With little tears falling from her eyes, she said.....

"Daddy never loved us. He always said we were in the way of his and mommy's happiness."

"Well I promise you this Princess. I do love you, and you are never in our way. We are family, and family is forever."

Kissing Eric on the cheek, she said...

"Night daddy, I love you."

"I love you too Princess."

Leaving Shannon's room, he turned out the light and headed into Sharon's.

"Hey Princess 2, are you ready for lights out?"

"Uhuh. I don't know if I will be able to sleep, but I'll try. Today was to much fun dad. I wish mommy had married you first. Then she wouldn't have been so sad all the time when daddy was mean to her."

"Mean to her how sweetheart?"

"One night I heard mommy crying out in her room. I got really scared, but I thought she was hurt. When I opened the door, daddy had her on the ground beating her up. He was kicking her, telling her she was...was..."

"Was what sweetheart?"

"I can't say it, it's a bad word."

"It's okay Sharon, you can tell me."

"He kept kicking her and calling her a bad lay. I'm not sure what daddy meant, but it couldn't be good. He was always hurting mommy. He'd bite her too, and I even seen him pull her hair so hard, it came out in a chunk. That's when he seen me, and I tried to run but I wasn't fast enough, and he....he...."

"Sharon, what did he do."

"I don't know. Mommy always stopped him. Told him to come back that she'd do as she was told."

Eric had a sinking feeling what he had planned to do too his little girl. But what he couldn't figure out, was why Mackenzie never told her dad. He knew damn well Mac would have killed him.

"Just one more thing to bring up at a later time," whispered Eric.

"Okay Sharon. You have Danger with you, he'll protect you, now would you like a kiss?"

"Of course daddy. Daddy, you will stay forever right?"

"I will, I promise Princess, I'm not going anywhere, ever."

Walking from her room, he turned out the light and headed down to see his Peanut. When he neared her door, he found her all curled up with her puppy, sound asleep.

Bending down he kissed her, covered her up, and whispered....

"I love you Peanut."

"I love you too Daddy."

With the kids down for the night, Eric went in search of his beautiful Mackenzie.

Aww! The bubble fight was hilarious! Loved his talk with the girls... so sweet. It's sad was they'd seen happen to their mom at Scott's hand, but at least they are safe from that now. I know it breaks Eric's heart to hear what Scott did to Mackenzie and would have done to the girls if Mackenzie hadn't stopped him. And Eric's right about Mac. If he had known how Scott was treating Mackenzie, he would have very well killed him, hid the body and the evidence.
