Cute names. Poor Eric... he's being pulled in two different directions emotionally. Hopefully his wife and six girls can make it all better. :)

And thanks guy's for all the reviews. I'm really glad you are enjoying this series:)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Once things had settled down a bit, Eric said...
"Mackenzie, I'm going to take the girls home now. We'll see you tomorrow."
Mac seen the concern in his daughters eyes.
"Listen Eric, why don't we take the girls, you stay with Mackenzie and the babies."
"I don't know dad. I think you have enough with MJ,Caroline and Michelle."
"Don't you worry about that. We'll be fine right my girls."
"Yes papa, we's promise to be good."
"What do you say Eric?"
Sighing deeply, he looked at Mackenzie and seen her concernt too.
"Sure dad. Thanks."
Kissing the girls good bye, they left.
"Do you need anything Mackenzie?"
"I do Eric, I need you to come lie with me."
Climbing in beside his wife, he took her in his arms, as they watched the babies sleep.
"Eric....are you going to be okay?"
Stroking his wife's lovely hair he said....
"I'll be fine Mackenzie, try and sleep before the babies wake up for their feeding."
Moving herself closer to her husband, she laid her head on his shoulder and fell into sleep.
Meanwhile....
Mac and Stella had arrived home with the kids. As they opened the door, King and Kong Jr, jumped on the kids.
"SIT!!!" yelled Mac.
"Papa I's tired can I sleep now?"
"Of course you can Sara, come on girls, I'll put you in bed."
"Nana...why's daddy so sad whens we have the babies."
"He's not sad about the babies love. He's sad because Uncle Horatio and Auntie Calleigh went to heaven."
"Why's they go to heaven?"
"To become Angels. To watch over and protect us."
"But why's can't we be Angels yet?"
"Well Shannon. It's not your time yet. God picks certain people at certain times to become Angels."
"But why nana?"
"Because God needs help to protect us who are living. Each one of us are given a special Angel. We can't see them, but they are always there protecting us."
"You know what nana?"
"What Sara?"
"I hope Auntie and Uncle get to be my sisters Angels, cause they's tiny and need protecting."
Stella teared up.
"Nana...you okay, no cry, I love you."
"I know sweetheart, I love you three too."
Tucking them in Stella said a prayer with them for the babies.
"Night my girls."
"Night Nana."
Leaving the door open, Stella walked by the other spare room and found MJ and Caroline already asleep.
"That was fast."
"I know. They were zonked."
"Mac, how are you feeling now we are alone?"
"Confused love. Very confused that two of our best friends lost their lives in a needless accident. But then happy too for our new grandbabies."
"That's the way I feel too. It's just not right Mac, it's not meant to be this way."
"Shh!!!! It's okay love, just let it out."
Wrapping her tightly, Mac did his best to kiss away her tears.
Meanwhile....
As Michael and Anya were ready to leave they heard Nat crying again.
"It's okay, you guys go ahead, she'll be fine."
"You sure Danny? We don't mind staying."
"No, that's okay. Get home safe."
Kissing Anya on the cheek, her and Michael left for home.
"I'm telling you Anya, this is one big mess. None of it makes sense, two tragic events and three births, all in the same night."
"You know what Michael? It was actually three deaths. Another lady died along with Horatio and Calleigh."
"Anya do you......."
"Yeah Michael. I do believe for every birth there is a death. Our Father told us that all the time, he used to say...If there wasn't a death for every birth, the world would over populate."
Michael found it amazing that he and Anya shared the same of almost everything, including their belief's.
For those of you are new to the story. Marisol and Horatio Jr are the children of the Caine's. Marisol was named after Eric's sister, Horatio Jr, of course after his father.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

When Horatio Jr and Marisol arrived at Miami-Dade, they were met by Flack and Danny.

"Excuse me. Are you Marisol and Horatio Jr?"

"We are. We'd like to see our parents please."

"Sure, come on I'll take you to them."

Walking them downstairs Danny wasn't sure what to say. The only thing he did know was that Horatio Jr, and Marisol Caine looked exactly like their parents.

"We know," said Marisol without saying a word to Danny.

"I'm sorry?"

"It happens all the time. We are the spitting image of our parents."

Danny nodded that he understood.

"Hawkes this is Marisol and Horatio Jr."

As Hawkes looked up he stared with great pain.

"Hello. I'm Dr.Sheldon Hawkes, if you'll walk with me this way. Danny we'll see you later."

"Sure. It was nice to meet you both. I'm sorry it couldn't be on better terms."

Walking them into the morgue, he pulled open the slats that were side by side.

"I'll leave you both alone."

Turning to leave, he heard Marisol softly cry.

Meanwhile....

Eric and Mackenzie were getting use to feeding the tripp's at different times.

"Eric this isn't working. I don't like that nurse, and I hate her schedule. I know what's best for our babies not her."

"I know that Mac. What would you like me to do, punch her?" He laughed.

"Such a goof. I'm just saying, this isn't working. If you notice, Serina seems to wake first, therefore she should be fed first. Why should we have to wake up Sasha first when she still sleeps. I'm telling you now Eric, it's not going to be this way when we get them home."

"Yes love, whatever you say love."

"Eric, don't patriotnize me, or I'll punch you."

Eric laughed when Mac came in with the girls.

"Hi daddy, hi mommy, look what we brought the babies."

"Wow....what beautiful pictures. They'll love them."

"Eric, you need to get down to Miami-Dade, Marisol and Horatio Jr have arrived."

"They have? Did they bring the kids with them?"

"No. Danny said it was just them."

"That don't make sense. Why wouldn't the kids come for the funeral?"

Mac shrugged, he wasn't sure to say. For he wasn't even sure what was going on.

"Okay, I'll be back as soon as I can love."

"Okay Eric, be strong."

Kissing her good bye, he went to face the difficult challange ahead of him.

When he arrived at Miami-Dade, he headed down to the morgue.

"Marisol, Horatio."

Turning around Marisol ran into Eric's arms.

"Eric....it's been so long. How are you doing?"

"I'm holding up. How are you two doing?"

"We'll be fine Eric, she said with tears. We have alot of support from you and the team."

"You do Marisol, we are all here for you. But why didn't bring the kids for the funeral? I don't understand."

Looking over at Horatio, he explained.

"Eric, mom and dad requested no funeral. They said they wanted to be remembered by life, not by death."

"I don't understand. Horatio never spoke of this to me, for that matter either did Calleigh."

"I know Eric. But they talked about it all the time.

Pulling out an envelope he passed it to Eric. As he opened it, it read....

To our team, our family, our friends,

If you are reading this, then you know we have passed on before you. It is our request that no funeral be given. Instead we leave you all this....

Please remember us in laughter,
in memories and in fun.
Please remember us in everything,
that we've always said or done.
Remember we haven't left you,
we are right here by your side.
We're the breeze, the sun,
the moon, and stars you see at night.

Remember to make every moment,
a memory, a signature of you.
Know that in your laughter, your smiles,
is what keeps our spirits alive.
Each and every time, you remember
us in this life.
Most important if you need us,
just look for the two brightest stars.
There you will find us both with
smiles inside our hearts.

Love Horatio, and Calleigh Caine.

As Eric looked up from the paper with tears falling from his eyes, he nodded that he understood.

"Is this for the team?"

"It is Eric, and the one behind it is for you. Horatio said you are to read it only when you are ready to accept their deaths."

"Ummm...okay. So are they being buried?"

"They are Eric, side by side. They bought their plots a while ago. They are right beside Marisol."

When Eric heard that he broke. His heart actually felt like it had died.

"Oh Eric...said Marisol as she took him into her arms. Shhh, come on Eric, please. It was what they both wanted."

While Marisol held Eric. Horatio passed two letters to Sheldon.

"These are for Mac and Stella, can you make sure they get them?"

"Of course. But Eric could deliver them personally. He married Mac's daughter, they just had a set of Triplets yesterday."

"Oh my...said Marisol. Eric, you should be happy, not sad like this. Mom and dad wouldn't like to see you like this. This may be a sad passing Eric, but it's also a happy time." She said with tears.

A short time later Eric made copies of the letter and poem for the team, family and their friends. Once he had given the team theirs, he headed back to the Hospital to give Mac and Stella their personal letters from the Caine's.

When Eric arrived back at the Hospital, he found Mackenzie sound asleep, and Mac along with Stella, and the kids in the breakroom.

"Eric, you're back."

"Hi daddy, we's missed you?"

"I missed you guys too. Dad I have letters here for you and mom from Horatio and Calleigh."

Passing them the letters they looked at them with great pain.

"I'm going to take the girls to see their mom and the babies one more time."

"Okay Eric, we'll take them home for another night."

"Yu sure dad. They're alot of work."

"There my granddaughters son, of course we can handle them."

Taking the girls by the hands, Eric lead them to their mom.

"What do you think Mac? Here or at home?"

"I think at home would be best love. Once we have the girls settled in bed tonight, we'll read them then."

Nodding in agreement, Mac and Stella headed down to see their grandbabies again.

Meanwhile...

H Jr and Marisol headed back to their Hotel.

"Marisol, we have to go back tomorrow. I need to get back to work. I don't leaving Claire this long."

"I know HJ. Dad and moms burial is set for the morning. As soon as that is done, we will head home."

"I still can't believe it HJ. I miss them so much."

"I know Marisol, so do I."

Holding each other tightly, they said a prayer for their parents.

Back at the Hospital, Eric woke Mackenzie.

"Sweetheart, wake up honey, come on."

"Mmm...what's the matter Eric?"

"The girls came to say good bye to you and the babies. Dad and mom are taking them home for one more night."

"But daddy, what about our puppies? They's must be lonely."

"I know Peanut. But daddy goes home and takes them out, and then he comes back here with mommy."

"I's know that daddy. But I's miss them."

"I'll tell you what my Sara. How about we stop off at home, and see them. Then Papa and nana will take you back to our place."

"Oh yay. Can we daddy?"

"Sure Peanut."

Handing Mac the key, the trip's gave their sisters and mommy a kiss as they left.

"Eric....how are you doing? Did you see Marisol and HJr?"

"I did Mac. They are burying them tomorrow beside Marisol's grave."

"Oh, that's lovely. Are you going to be there?"

"No. Horatio and Calleigh requested no one was to be there except for thier children. They want to be remembered in life, not in death."

"Oh Eric, that must be so hard on you."

"It is. But I'll be able to visit the grave once it's all settled and done. Horatio Jr gave me this letter from Horatio and Calleigh. I'm not supposed to open it till I accept their deaths."

"Have you Eric?"

"I'm not sure Mac. Everytime I go to open it, I stop. I don't know why."

"Eric....she whispered. Would you like me to read it to you?"

Passing the letter to Mackenzie, he climbed in beside her as she opened it and read.....

"To our wonderful brother....."

To our wonderful brother,

Eric if you are reading this, then we know we have passed on before you, and you have accepted our death. We know how confused, angry and upset you must feel now that we are no longer with you. Please try and understand that it was our time to go to Heaven, and that God has a plan for each one of us at some point in our lives. We know how empty you must feel inside, but remember we are always with you, your family, and our team. The only difference is we are doing it from Heaven with Marisol and Speedle.

Please take care of your wife and family Eric, cherish them, nurture them, love them, make every moment count with them for they are your future Eric. The ones that will help you survive each day with laughter, and with joy. This is what matters Eric, family, family is the key to warmth, to life, and to love.

Most importantly Eric, please remember if you need us, you know where to find us, right beside our Marisol. We love you Eric, love you so much, and will miss you, as much as you miss us.

Love alway, and forever from Heavens home,

Horatio, and Calleigh Caine.

Looking at her husband with great pain, Mackenzie put down the letter, and wiped her husbands tears.

"Shhh....come on Eric, I know it hurts really bad right now. But I'm here for you, I promise you Eric, it will be okay. I love you so much, please try and stop."

Kissing his tears, while whispering her love over and over, Eric just hung onto her tightly, to afraid to let go, to afraid that if he did, she would disappear.

Meanwhile.....

"Papa, are we's there yet? I wanna see Peanut."

"Almost love, just a few more minutes, okay."

"K papa."

When they pulled up to the house, the girls ran to the door.

"Hurry papa, come on hurry."

"I'm coming girls, hold on."

While Mac lifted Michelle from the car, Stella opened the door for her grandbabies.

"Woof, woof, woof, woof.."

"Peanut, come here Peanut."

As the dog came running, he jumped up on Sara, causing her to fall over.

"Ouff. Papa, they's like your dogs now, they push me over."

"I can see that Sara. How about we put them out back for a bit."

"But I's wanna play with them."

"You can love. Take their ball outside with them and play."

As the girls headed out with Peanut, Danger and Loser, Mac and Stella cleaned the place for Eric before they got home with the triplets in a couple days. Dusting off some things, Stella came across a picture of Horatio, Marisol and Eric.

"Mac...this must be Marisol, Eric's sister."

"She was very beautiful. Poor Eric must be going through hell. I hope Mackenzie is strong enough to help him through this."

"She will be Mac, plus they will be kept busy once those babies come home. Eric won't have time to think about much, except when he'll sleep next."

"Papa, we's ready to go now."

"Okay girls, did you lock the back door?"

"We did papa, and fed our puppies."

"Okay. Then to papa and nana's place we go."

Giggling Shannon said....

"Papa, you sound like "Little Red Riding Hood".

Picking her up in his arms, he tickled her and said...

"No I'm not. I'm the big bad wolf."

"Papa, you's funny. We watch a movie when we get home."

"What movie Shannon?"

"The one where you and daddy fall down in the kitchen, that was funny papa."

Not finding humor in the memory of a four year old he said...

"How about we watch Dr.Suess's Cat in the Hat instead?"

Straping the girls into their belts, they headed home.
