Spoilers for Episode 518, "Point of No Return"

SPOILERS FOR- Point Of No Return

If anyone was wondering where Marty Pino went, here are some answers. Apparently Sid fired him over a year ago. It seems that Pino has gotten himself in something bad and his wife dies trying to protect him.

Meanwhile the Greek storyline continues with Stella as we meet a professor from Greece.

Although, Danny forgets his vest when they went to a takedown and Mac makes him stay behind no question are to be asked. He ends up in a persue of the suspect without vest or backup. He gets out of it alive.

Danny seems to be really hit hard that one of his friends could betray the lab like that. It looks like another emotional Danny.

Lindsay isn't mentioned at all.

Anywho, here we go:
5.19 "Communication Breakdown"

~ The episode starts on the 7 Train - there are people from various ethnic backgrounds speaking multiple languages. A Moroccan man moves slowly through the train with one hand under his jacket. As he passes a Bulgarian man, the Bulgarian man shoves him for stumbling, and his jacket opens to reveal something wrapped around his chest. A Filipino girl freaks out, saying he has a bomb - even though what he really has are broken ribs. The Bulgarian man pulls out a gun, and there is confusion - a gunshot rings out and a man slumps to the ground.

~ The cops have some trouble translating what the witnesses have to say. Angell speaks French with one man (much to Flack's delight ;)), and Stella goes up to a Greek woman to help out.

~ Their victim is the Chief of the Montiquan Indian Nation - indigenous to Manhattan. He has a small-caliber gunshot wound to the abdomen.

~ The case ends up involving online poker, I think (or maybe just regular poker). Also, the Chief had some issues with people over land disputes - he was taking back land that belonged to his tribe.

~ As a random note, Flack later speaks Gaelic (much to Angell's delight ;)), and there appears to be at least one more flirtatious type of scene.

~ Also, I don't think I saw any sign of Lindsay. (Since we're not sure when Anna's maternity leave starts, I thought I'd mention it.)

5.20 - "Prey"

Spoilers courtesy of Fay. :)

A man is found with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was a voice coach who worked for the theater where the body is found - the theater director says that he also used the rehearsal space for private lessons.
They find a fist print in the wall of the vocal studio, and the victim has a spoke card (like you'd put on a bicycle wheel) in his pocket with a phone number on the back.

The case seems to involve stalking.

Angell is there - she has some scenes with Stella (related to this case)

Adding a few overlooked items (big thanks to Fay! :D )

5.21 "The Past, Present and Murder"

The team is called to the office of Robert Dunbrook (Craig T Nelson's character). He says he was attacked and defended himself - the attacker's body went out the window. However, someone removed the body before the police could get there, so they don't know who it was or how they got past the high tech security system - and they can't even prove whether or not Dunbrook was really defending himself.

They find a box cutter in the office, and there are some teeth on the ground where the body landed. Danny only finds fingerprints from Dunbrook himself on the biometric lock, so Mac speculates that Dunbrook let the person in - and perhaps there was an argument that got out of hand. Dunbrook isn't helpful and refuses to give them a list of the people who have access to the office - he also says that he gets a lot of threats.

Later, while Dunbrook is doing a press conference about the incident, someone takes a shot at him.

The missing flash drive seems to be back, and the FBI agents that spoke to Mac in "The Triangle" are mentioned in this one as well.

In the random-but-cool-technology department, E-Ink is mentioned.
Also:

I heard a rumor that CSI: NY's Adam saves a life in an upcoming episode. Is this true? — Rebecca

MegaBuzz: "Adam doesn't save a life, but he does rescue someone who is very much alive," says executive producer Pam Veasey, who also told the Buzz what's up with Lindsay and Danny. Lindsay will take time off to go back to Montana and "share her pregnancy with her family." But when the baby's born, she and Danny find that balancing work and a newborn isn't easy. Oh, and Veasey refers to them as "the Messer family," the second huge hint producers have dropped that fans will get an early Valentine this week.

More spoilers, courtesy of Faylinn:

First, courtesy of Alex: Katharine McPhee guest-stars

From TV Guide:

You told CSI: NY fans that Danny and Lindsay would get an early Valentine's Day present. Well, the Feb. 11 episode had nothing about them in it. What happened? — Melissa

MegaBuzz: Wait, you didn't think the human trafficking episode was romantic? But seriously, Melissa: No one was more disappointed than me. Though an executive producer initially said the show in question would air before Valentine's Day, things changed, as they tend to do in relationships and television schedules. I'm told that what was going to happen between Danny and Lindsay last week will now happen on March 11. Save the date.

Episode info:

5.22 "Yahrzeit"

The episode starts at an antique jewelry auction. During bidding, a man stumbles into the room and falls down dead with an apparent gunshot wound to the stomach.

The victim turns out to be racist, and the case has ties to the Holocaust.

The case ends up being personal for Mac - we find out that his father was also in the military, and he helped liberate Buchenwald (a concentration camp). Mac's father's name was Boyd McCanna Taylor.

Danny seems to be in a bit of trouble with IAB due to a character from episode 5.17 (who I believe is the Neo-Nazi guy Eddie Cahill mentioned in his latest interview) - the character is back in this one.

Danny mentions Lindsay, but I don't see any sign of her being back to work.

The only mention I see of Hawkes is Danny talking to him on the phone. (He addresses "Doc", so I assume it's Hawkes.) Danny offers him condolences on Lindsay's behalf, but I'm not sure what's going on.

Also, here's the press release for 5.18, courtesy of Futon Critic:

Exclusive: 'CSI: NY' says RIP to one of its own

"That's right," says CSI: NY executive producer Peter Lenkov. "We lose a member of our family [in the season finale] -- and that's just in the first 10 minutes."

The other 50 minutes of the hour will probably be pretty killer, too. Leading up to it is episode 5.22, titled "Yarzheit," which features not only Lou Grant... er, Ed Asner but also comic legend Shelley Berman. In this one, "Our CSIs find themselves investigating a crime that takes them into the world of racism and bigotry, only to uncover a deep, dark secret that dates back to the Holocaust," teases Lenkov. "Also in this episode, Mac will learn something about his father he never knew.

"And in the season finale" -- which also has Craig T. Nelson winding up his arc -- "the CSI: NY team is on the trail of a team of sophisticated kidnappers-turned-cop killers," he continues. "Their crime will forever change the CSI: NY lineup."

Episode information:

(Brief) spoilers for #523 - Greater Good

  • A girl is killed by being hit with a car. Mac believes that the man who admitted to the crime is, in fact, innocent. It would appear that someone has paid a hitman to kill the man.
  • Lindsay is in this episode. She's in labour, and it seems to be taking a while. Stella visits her in the hospital.

eta: I've changed the spoilers, I'm a bit confused by the case but I think that the man was found guilty and served time for killing the girl, but now he's been released someone wants him dead.
