Thanks so much for the reviews!

Sorry I haven't updated in a bit.

Hospital, 1pm
Speed: *sits*
Brook: *fiddles with Speed's shirt*
Speed: What did the doctors say?
Anni: ...I was...pregnant.
Speed: ...I'm sorry.
Anni: *waves hand* Nah, don't. I'm alright.
Speed: You and Tom really wanted t-
Anni: It's okay. Some things just aren't meant to be.
Brook: *lies head on Speed's chest*
Anni: ...Seems like she's getting used to you.
Speed: *looks down at Brook*
Anni: I guess it's a good thing you came over.
Speed: Are you going to tell Tom about your little adventure?
Anni: *shakes head* He doesn't need to know.
Speed: ...Why not.
Anni: It would crush him. He'd just think it was his fault.
Speed: *nods*
Anni: The doctor wants to keep me overnight...you mind improvising for me a
bit?
Speed: ...Me.
Anni: Yeah.
Speed: He's your husband. You lie to him.
Anni: He can see right through me.
Speed: Then tell him the truth.
Anni: I can't. I don't know if he can take news like this again.
Speed: You should give him more credit. He's a strong guy.
Anni: ...Did you just compliment him?
Speed: Enjoy it while it lasts.
Anni: *smirks*
Speed: I'm glad you're okay.
Anni: Thanks.
Speed: You shoud get some rest. I'll hang out with Brook until Tom's off
work.
Anni: *nods*
Gables Estates, house, 3pm
Lori: *sits on couch* Okay, I spoke to Mr. Waterhouse, you know the guy who managed the rehab place?
Scott: ...I'm not on drugs, Lori.
Lori: I know but he manages the psychiatric facility next door. That way they don't have to spend extra money for psych services for the rehab.
Scott: I didn't realize the other building was separate.
Lori: Well they share a common hall, it's why we were able to interact but the point is there's an opening. He's willing to continue helping you.
Scott: I don't know about this. This is a little extreme, isn't it?
Lori: He's coming over in a few minutes to talk to you about it.
Scott: You invited him over?
Lori: Yeah.
Scott: *sigh*
Lori: He doesn't want to just admit you without speaking with you.
Doorbell rings
Lori: *smiles* He was in the neighborhood.
Scott: *frowns*
Lori: *stands, runs*
Foyer
Lori: *opens door*
Waterhouse: *smiles* Lori. You're looking well.
Lori: Scott's in the den. *runs away*
Waterhouse: *steps inside*
Den
Scott: *stands*
Waterhouse: My, my. Scott Finch. It's been a while.
Scott: *nods*
Waterhouse: I understand things are a little rocky for you.
Scott: *looks at Lori*
Lori: *grabs Scott's arm, smiles* He's been having disturbing thoughts about murdering people.
Waterhouse: ...I see. Why don't we have a seat.
Scott: *sits*
Waterhouse: *sits*
Lori: Who wants lemonade!
Scott: We're fine, thank you.
Lori: Great. I'll go pick up Dom from daycare. *walks away*
Waterhouse: You have children now?
Scott: Mhm. 2.
Waterhouse: I remember you telling me you wanted children.
Scott: I'm a lucky guy.
Waterhouse: I have to admit, I was a bit surprised to find out you married Lori. She's...quite a challenge.
Scott: *smiles*
Waterhouse: It's good to know she turned herself around.
Scott: We're all proud of her.
Waterhouse: So tell me about yourself. What are some of the things that happened after you left?
Scott: I ought to write you a novel.
Waterhouse: *smirks*
Scott: Lori told you about Texas.
Waterhouse: Yep.
Scott: What exactly did she tell you?
Waterhouse: You were held in a warehouse for over 2 months. The living conditions were abhorrent and you were abused...physically?
Scott: *stares at Waterhouse*
Waterhouse: ...And sexually.
Scott: *lowers head*
Waterhouse: Reckless and violent behaviour is not uncommon, Scott. Neither is excessive work.
Scott: How about wanting to gut my wife while she's in the shower.
Waterhouse: ...That...might be something else.
Scott: *rubs forehead*
Waterhouse: How often do you get these...urges?
Scott: Constantly.
Waterhouse: Have you ever acted on them?
Scott: ...I take valium everyday now.
Waterhouse: That doesn't answer my question.
Scott: I took advantage of an employee. She trusted me.
Waterhouse: *nods*
Scott: ...When she wasn't paying attention, I was going to stab her with a broken crack pipe.
Waterhouse: And you didn't.
Scott: No but it doesn't matter. I got that far. It was 2 things I vowed never to do in my life and I already accomplished the first.
Waterhouse: Okay. What feelings do you get before or during these thoughts?
Scott: Anger.
Waterhouse: And that's why you're taking the valium. You know it's not typically prescribed for this.
Scott: I told the doctor I wasn't sleeping. Which I'm not.
Waterhouse: Lack of sleep can cause aggression.
Scott: *scoffs* Yeah, well not enough for me to want to slaughter my family while they sleep.
Waterhouse: I think what we're dealing with here is a lot of trauma and some stress. Now, the question becomes are you truly a threat to yourself or others and it's not my job to make that kind of assessment. But based on what I've heard, I think it would be beneficial for you to come down to the center and speak with a psychiatrist. That way, we can get a better idea of what we're dealing with.
Scott: Assuming I'm completely out of my gourd...what happens then?
Waterhouse: No one would force you into staying, especially since you haven't been charged with any crime. Anything you choose would be strictly voluntary.
Scott: So I wouldn't be shoved into a lockdown unit.
Waterhouse: *tilts head* The entire facility is locked down at night. You know that, Scott.
Scott: *looks around*
Waterhouse: Safety purposes.
Scott: Sure.
Waterhouse: How's tomorrow sound?
Scott: Unlikely.
Waterhouse: What's wrong with tomorrow?
Scott: I have work.
Waterhouse: I thought you wanted help.
Scott: I thought it was voluntary.
Waterhouse: *stares at Scott*
Scott: *stares at Waterhouse*
Waterhouse: You're going to be just as difficult as Lori, aren't you.
Scott: As soon as I'm finished working tomorrow, I'll give you a call.
Waterhouse: The longer you wait, the worse it might get.
Scott: *stands* Thanks for stopping by.
Waterhouse: *stands* Scott, y-
Scott: I'll show you to the door. *walks away*
Waterhouse: *sigh*
Biscayne Park, house, 7pm
Tom: *walks in*
Speed: *leaning over table, staring down at newspaper*
Tom: ...What the hell are you doing here? Where's Anni?
Speed: Hospital.
Tom: Why.
Speed: Female problem.
Tom: *looks at watch* When's she getting back?
Speed: Tomorrow.
Tom: *lifts head* What the hell kind of 'female problem' did she have?
Speed: No one told me. It's not really any of our business.
Tom: Is it serious?
Speed: I don't think so.
Tom: Where's Brook?
Speed: Bed.
Tom: *frowns* You put her to bed.
Speed: *lifts head* ...She
is the fruit of my loin.
Tom: *crosses arms*
Speed: *stands straight* Look, I don't really want to have this argument with you again. Anni wanted me to watch Brook until you got back from work and I didn't think it was too much to ask.
Tom: You can go now.
Speed: You'd better get used to me being here because I'm not going away. We can either tolerate each other or you can get the hell out while I'm here.
Tom: *stares at Speed*
Speed: *walks away*
Tom: *shakes head*
