"Cold Blooded" Discussion - *SPOILERS*

Overall good episode ... Just one question tho . I dont understand why its an issue if greg carries a gun or not ? Everyones talking about it but i really didnt understand why ...sorry if i come across foolish i guess i didnt pick up on tht :/
Episode was great tho loved hodges :)

Nick saved the episode for me.Liked his interactions with the mother and Greg. Not enough Cath for me still.:( The dinosours case was boring.Hope next week is better.

Once we got past Hodges 'playing' with the dinosaurs I wasn't that interested in the dino case. Can't really tell you what happened.

Walking with Dinosaurs website for anyone who's interested. :)

Loved the case Nick & Greg were on. Very emotional. The end was perfect - no words needed. :(

I'm not all that worried about the inconsistancies in the flashback. We see these characters at the most once a week for a day or two. He could have worn a plaid shirt on any of the other 5 or 6 days that we didn't see him. The hair I blame of George. Being episode 6 the episode was most likely already written before he buzzed his hair!

Oh yeah on Nick's buzz-cut that would be a flaw with him, for me, due to the fact he's got such pretty brown shiny hair. He's still handsome, but I like his hair a little longer:confused:

I didn't see too many inconsistencies with Nick's flashback. Five years ago would have made it around season 5, and Nick had a buzzed haircut for part of the season.

Round about Season 5 they made a big deal about how Greg doesn't carry a gun like the other CSI's. Since then he's never carried one outside training exercises, so him suddenly having one without explanation would be out of character for him and pretty jarring to his fans. Hope that helped :)

I'll probably watch the ep tonight, if I can be bothered to...

Here I was thinking five years ago would be season six with the longish hair and the couple weeks with the porno 'stache. :guffaw:

5 years ago would have been season 6 around Gumdrops and Secrets and Flies.

It would.. Oct. 2005 was Gum Drops. Bullet Runs Through It was late November 2005. If they'd just made it SIX years ago, it would've worked out better, with Nick's buzz and Greg being new in the field..

Was the "5 years ago" flashback during October/November of 2005, though? I don't recall hearing a specific date. It could have been during any time in 2005.

To dracofeind thankyou .. Makes more sense now yh i just finished watching season 5 so wht u sed really helps :) Season 6 here i come !
I think u shud try n watch this ep if u can .. Personally i think it wasnt too bad , ending was quite emotional for me and thers some funny bits too so yh .. Ur call ;)

Not sure if the flashback worked or not. I say, not. The episode could have done with out that scene.

And boy they are really trying to make Nick pretty complex. Last week, he came across as cold and unbending regarding the Hoarder. This week, he told the mom they found her daughter as she collapsed into his arms. HMMM

Love the Catherine scene with Katee. Detective Reed was okay. For someone that was supposedly working on her 'sensitivity' she didn't come across as all that rude. Maybe they aren't making her into the female Vartann? I'm still not liking the fact that now he is only there to be Cath's boyfriend. Vartann could have been in this episode. But that's my complaint and probably for another thread. ;)

The dinosaur case was totally predictable. As soon as you saw his back and the girlfriend you knew she had something to do with either his death or the aftermath.
Hodges was quite funny though.

Ray keeps channeling Grissom. No wonder he's the lead and Catherine is just the supervisor. Ray seems to know everything. Even Grissom had to look some stuff up. [/sarcasm].

It was okay. I'd say this one and (the actual case in Blood Moon) are tied for my least favorite so far this season.

Ray could walk around and go DUH all the time, then fans would go "gosh he's stupid" so he's smart and still gets panned. Grissom was the one who offered him this job, because of his expertise. And he does look things up and tries different theories and listens to eveyone, that's what fans admire about him. And channeling Grissom no way their totally different but are both low-key and soft spoken in their own way. Him and Hodges now have a bond not like when Hodges was so enamored and in awe and hero worship of Grissom, but all he did was insult him talk down to him. "shut the door.. from the other side" and "if you need to talk to someone there's a thearpist here on blah..blah" always something cynical, and insulting, and Hodges didn't have a clue. When he did say "Good job Hodges" on the bleach connection, in the MCSK season, he was so overjoyed he did a little dance jig down the hallway. Ray treats him as an equal, and doesn't put him down and lets him be himself. I thought it was off the wall in this episode that Ray went with Hodges to the Dinosaur exhibit, so not something I'd think he'd go to especially with Hodges, but he did.. and they got the samples together. I don't think any one of the CSI's are dumb bunnies, and all share their different ideas together:bolian:Ray is a astonishing, positive addition to CSI~

The story with Nick and Greg was really good, I love those two working together. The T-Rex thing was lame in comparison.

And two seperate cases that did not connect in any way! Just like the old CSI.

Not my favorite episode. The only thing I enjoyed was Hodges' faces and interactions with the dinosaurs :) Not enough Cath. Nothing special with Ray or Greg. Nick made me want to cry tho :( I was anticipating the combo of dinosaurs and a second case but I don't know...
