From Ausiello:
"The case of who’ll succeed James Garner in NBC’s Rockford Files remake has been cracked… by me!
Sources confirm that Julia Roberts’ erstwhile BF, Dermot Mulroney, has been tapped to play iconic detective Jim Rockford in the David Shore-produced reboot.
The project marks Mulroney’s first major foray into series television. Nothing like making a big splash your first time out!"

Boy, I'm sure I don't like this. James Garner is Jim Rockford.
That's like someone else playing Gil Grissom. Boooo!!!

LOL. I just realized that might be a possibility in 10-20 years; a CSI remake! Unless, of course, the original is still on the air.

We watched the NAACP Image Awards on Friday night and congrat. to Hill Harper, [beat out LF for Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series] Chris Rock, Morgan Freeman, great acting, in "Invictus", Wyclef, for his help in Haiti Gabe for "Precious" and Tyler Perry, he's so sweet and humble. And Quentin Tarantino was there, he's everywhere;) I was a bit disillusioned that so many celebrities were not in attendance to honor their peers, for instance Laurence Fishburne who was nominated and didn't even show up:( and in past years, these stars did. Denzel Washington, Beyonce, Jay-Z, Samuel L. Jackson, Rianna, Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, Will Smith, although Jada was there. And Angela Bassett, Danny Glover, Bill Cosby, Queen Latifah, Smokey Robinson, Lionel Ritchie, Stevie Wonder, Barry Gordy, Quincy Jones & Oprah why weren't they there?

Hawaii Five-O Remake Books Scott Caan as 'Danno'
Mar 4, 2010 10:31 PM ET
by Kate Stanhope

Scott Caan has been booked to play the iconic role of Danny "Danno"
Williams in CBS' Hawaii Five-O pilot, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Caan, 33, will step into the role originated by James MacArthur and made
famous by the original series' catch phrase, "Book 'em, Danno!"

In the project, Williams is a recent transfer from the Baltimore Police
Department who moves to Hawaii after an ugly divorce to be close to his
daughter. He partners with Steve McGarrett (Alex O'Loughlin), the head of
a special division of the Hawaii State Police. Besides O'Loughlin, Caan
joins familiar faces such as Daniel Dae Kim, Grace Park and Taryn Manning.

Caan most recently appeared in a recurring role on the last season of
Entourage, playing Eric's competitive co-worker at a Hollywood management
firm. Caan, the son of James Caan, will be credited as a guest star in the
Hawaii pilot because of his previous commitment to the HBO comedy, THR
reported. (MacArthur also was the son of show business parents —
playwright Charles MacArthur and stage legend Helen Hayes.)

Caan is also best known for his role in all three Ocean's films.

Family, Friends Respond to Farrah Fawcett's Missing 'Memoriam' Mention

No one expects the Oscars' annual 'In Memoriam' montage to include a mention of every death in Hollywood - but many were startled by one conspicuous omission this year: Farrah Fawcett. The montage included pictures of movie performers like Patrick Swayze, Michael Jackson, and Jean Simmons - as well as writers and movie executives - but the 'Charlie's Angels' star didn't make the cut. Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences spokeswoman Leslie Unger told the Associated Press, "Every year, it's an unfortunate reality that we can't include everybody."

Bea Arthur and Ed McMahon, performers known primarily for their work on TV, were also notably absent from the montage.

Natalie Wood Case Should Be Reopened, Her Sister Says

Natalie Wood's sister wants a reinvestigation of the actress' drowning death, one of Hollywood's most legendary tragedies — though she doesn't suspect foul play.
"I just want the truth to come out, the real story," Lana Wood said on CNN.

She and Dennis Davern — the captain of the yacht on which Natalie Wood was sailing with husband Robert Wagner when she went overboard — have asked the Los Angeles County sheriff's office to re-open the case. Authorities have yet to respond.

Lana Wood told CNN that she believes an argument between her sister and Wagner on the yacht's back deck preceded her drowning in November 1981 off the coast of California's Catalina Island.

Davern offered a detailed account in a book published in September. He also said Wagner died after a fight with Wagner, who starred in two long-running TV series, It Takes a Thief and Hart to Hart.

Wood — who starred as a child in Miracle on 34th Street and went on to make Rebel Without a Cause, Splendor in the Grass and West Side Story — married Wagner in 1957. They divorced in 1962, then remarried in 1972.

They often sailed their yacht off the coast of California and they invited Wood's then co-star, Christopher Walken, to join them sailing on Thanksgiving weekend.

Walken and Wood had been filming Brainstorm.

Walken has not spoken publicly about Wood's drowning, and authorities have said he witnessed only the events leading up to an argument between the couple.

Detective Duane Rasure, the sheriff's lead investigator, has said the official theory is that Wood was awakened by the sound of the yacht's dinghy hitting the side of the boat. Police believe she went to re-tie the dinghy but slipped on the boat's swim step and fell into the water.

Wood was found wearing a long nightgown, socks, and a down jacket, according to police. Rasure told CNN he believes Wood was dragged underwater by her jacket. "She was such a little thing," he said.

NAH> let this be, what's the point now? I was young and remember it well, it Thanksgiving Day, when we heard this horrible news. I was sad, because I adored her. They did investigate it then throughly, and found nothing amiss or weird or strange. And why should Christopher Walken discuss it? It's probably something that is traumatic for him. The final report was what this says. She fell overboard, and drowned..period~

There have been many stories over the years surrounding her death, suspiousion has alway (and probably always will be) on Robert Wagner. No family wants to believe that someone they loved may have committed suicide, they may even blame Robert for it because of their fight, apparently their relationship wasn't always the best, well it was stormy at best, maybe in their minds he should pay for it. But also if they have further information that contradicts what has been concluded regarding the case (be it about Robert or someone else) then I could see them wanting to have it re-opened. Sometimes throughly investigated doesn't mean just that, alot of the technology we have now wasn't available back then, who knows if it would have been now instead of then the results. As to why they don't say what they might (and I stress might as I don't know if they do) have to reopen the case, because that would compromise any investigation. Until they release more on the why, we just have to wait.

Fawcett omission from Oscar segment no accident

The executive director of the film academy said Tuesday that Farrah Fawcett wasn't included in the Academy Awards' In Memoriam segment because the actress was better known as a TV star.

It was a difficult decision for the committee that assembles the segment to omit Fawcett, said Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences executive director Bruce Davis, who added that he's not surprised some fans and family members are upset.

Fawcett's family issued a statement through a publicist Tuesday saying they were "deeply saddened" and "bereft with this exclusion of such an international icon who inspired so many for so many reasons."
