Gah! Here I was thinking that we had a semi-decent episode of CSI (I liked the intrigue of the twins but the episode felt slow), and what happens? They just go and ruin it so the GSR fans can get their jollies. For gods sake people, it is not necessary to shove the relationship in our face every single damn episode! I'm sick of it! That's it, some one send me the addresses of the writers, please! It's becoming a joke.
Now, enough with the ranting... oh, and just as an aside, I'm not anti-GSR. I actually don't mind the relationship. It's just that I'm tired of the relationship seeming to become more important than the cases, and forcing the other characters into the background. Case and fact - Greg Sanders. He didn't appear until halfway through the episode, and I felt his loss. Here is one of the best characters in the show being forced into the background - one of the more talented actors too. Speaking of background, Nick vanished halfway into the episode. Do I sense some 'deliberately keeping Nick and Greg apart'? The Love fans want their jollies too, writers!
On to a proper review now.
As I said before, the case of the twins intrigued me. For a while there I honestly thought their deaths was coincidental, but the twist in the end? Didn't see it coming, although it did make sense. The doctored photographs is something that I think about all the time, but to kill some one over it? And all the elements the twins had in common... no wonder Archie freaked out.
Next, I just have to say that the lab rats rule! Mandy has Nick wrapped around her little finger big time. I'm still up in the air about what to think of Nick singing, but that scene was the lighthearted element that the episode needed. Also, Warrick and Greg looking over Jill's room and finding the 'naughty drawer'... I really love the interaction between these two guys. And finding out that Doc Robbins used to be a twin and his mother blaming herself for him becoming a coroner because he spent "so much time next to a dead body" was classic.
In all honesty, that's all I can really say. Like I said, episode felt a little slow and dragged in places. As for breaking the two cases up into two halves... well, it kinda makes sense so not to confuse the dead bodies, but this is what slowed the episode down. I hope that in the future TPTB don't do this again.
Episode could have been better, but could have been worse. Hopefully the next one is better.
