Australia will be getting Happenstance on April 29. And it really doesn't surprise me that we're behind - the Nine Network is far from reliable.
I know, it really is a joke. I honestly can’t remember the last time we’ve had at least four or five episodes screened in a row without one week being interrupted with a movie or something. I don’t mind being seven months behind since that’s how TV works when you’re broadcasting to other countries, but the constant interruption of the series is infuriating.

Date Aired: Sunday 29th April, 8:30pm
Station: Nine Network

Gah! Here I was thinking that we had a semi-decent episode of CSI (I liked the intrigue of the twins but the episode felt slow), and what happens? They just go and ruin it so the GSR fans can get their jollies. For gods sake people, it is not necessary to shove the relationship in our face every single damn episode! I'm sick of it! That's it, some one send me the addresses of the writers, please! It's becoming a joke.

Now, enough with the ranting... oh, and just as an aside, I'm not anti-GSR. I actually don't mind the relationship. It's just that I'm tired of the relationship seeming to become more important than the cases, and forcing the other characters into the background. Case and fact - Greg Sanders. He didn't appear until halfway through the episode, and I felt his loss. Here is one of the best characters in the show being forced into the background - one of the more talented actors too. Speaking of background, Nick vanished halfway into the episode. Do I sense some 'deliberately keeping Nick and Greg apart'? The Love fans want their jollies too, writers!

On to a proper review now.

As I said before, the case of the twins intrigued me. For a while there I honestly thought their deaths was coincidental, but the twist in the end? Didn't see it coming, although it did make sense. The doctored photographs is something that I think about all the time, but to kill some one over it? And all the elements the twins had in common... no wonder Archie freaked out.

Next, I just have to say that the lab rats rule! Mandy has Nick wrapped around her little finger big time. I'm still up in the air about what to think of Nick singing, but that scene was the lighthearted element that the episode needed. Also, Warrick and Greg looking over Jill's room and finding the 'naughty drawer'... I really love the interaction between these two guys. And finding out that Doc Robbins used to be a twin and his mother blaming herself for him becoming a coroner because he spent "so much time next to a dead body" was classic.

In all honesty, that's all I can really say. Like I said, episode felt a little slow and dragged in places. As for breaking the two cases up into two halves... well, it kinda makes sense so not to confuse the dead bodies, but this is what slowed the episode down. I hope that in the future TPTB don't do this again.

Episode could have been better, but could have been worse. Hopefully the next one is better.

Next Episode: Living Legend - 13 May 2007 <subject to change>

Very last scene. Sara, who wasn't in the rest of the episode because she had court, comes into Grissom's office and tells him about court. The scene ends with Sara telling him "I won't wait up."

Oh, I see. I remember it now. I don't really see how erasing it from the episode would have given Greg all that much more screen time, though.

Oh yeah, the last scene. That was my favourite part of the episode (well, next to Sofia’s little “are you resisting” bit). Definitely not cause of the GSR but because Sara had that lovely curly hair, I know it’s a shallow reason but it’s been far too long between episodes.

I have noticed the quality of the writing is declining, but I didn't like the bit at the end. Not because it was GSR, but because it felt very tacked on. Like "oops! Better remind them of the relationship!"

I LOVED the bet between Grissom and Catherine. And Grissom's reply about the federal offence felt like a return to old Grissom :)

I LOVED Mandy making Nick sing for his results. That was just priceless :)

Sofia's "Are you resisting" was fantastic :)

And I loved Wendy and Catherine. That was funny!

^ That's what I'm talking about. The ending was just tacked on for the sake of showing GSR. If it had been incorperated more into the episode, it wouldn't have mattered so much. But it was just there for the sake of being there, like the GSR in Way to Go. I felt the way they handled that one took away from the whole Brass thing. That episode should have ended with Brass. And as for the reminding thing, I doubt they're ever going to let us forget. I'm getting a GSR overdose this season. Butterflied = good. Beautiful even. Season 7 = massive overdose. Way. Too. Much.

There were indeed some classic moments in the episode, for sure. My favourite is still the 'naughty drawer' conversation between Greg and Warrick.

Hear's hoping the writing improves. When's the next David Rambo episode? His are always good.
