Not sure about Billy leaving right now. I think the shortened season may have had the opposite effect, and mean that he'll want to do one more. I know no contracts are signed yet, but I wonder if CBS would be in a hurry to ok a new season without some assurance that the leading man and leading lady would be back.

But I do think it'll be his last season.

Now watch him refuse to sign a new contract ;)

Well, was there ever any doubt that the number one show on televison would be renewed? ;) It's nice just the same though.

Regarding Billy, didn't he say in that interview with Anthony LaPaglia that he would stick with it 'til the end? I doubt that he would leave. Besides, CSI wouldn't be CSI without Grissom at the head.

According to Orlando Sentinel, Brighthouse customers may not get to see CSI as of March 17th because of a disagreement between Brighthouse and CBS. Here is the link (moderators please remove if inappropriate - I wasn't sure if this is okay):

Favorite TV shows may be lost due to Bright House fee dispute

I will be royally @!%# if they do this to us because there is no other network where I am unless I get satellite TV. I will have to start purchasing the episodes from iTunes! I love my CSI!

Oh I am one of those people who this affects. And it is not really all Brighthouse that is at fault. Our local CBS is really the ones causing the problem, I feel. I will be so mad if I lose CSI due to more greedy people. But this mostly is about the station here in Orlando. I've already written my complaint to the local CBS station here as it is really them causing the issue.

This is awesome news, I'm glad that we're going to get a 9th season, especially seeing as season 8 had to be shortened due to the strike. :D Thanks for the info. :D

Although everyone's contracts are up at the end of season 8, most likely everyone will return for season 9 (although WP is up in the air). Marg said in a recent interview that they are planning on filming until June, which means the first five episodes of season 9 will already be filmed before the new season starts.

Ah thanks Destiny for uping this thread...

Wojo why is that? Is that because of the writers strike that they're shooting more episodes before the season has began?

Or is that how it is done in the States?

So basically correct me if I'm wrong then there will be up to season 11.... So a few more years to go... Question is lol, who will still be in it. No doubt George, Eric, Gary possibly.

Maybe by season 9 Eric's on screen counterpart Greg Sanders might've gotten a rise in his status.
