007 #1: Bond, James Bond

Man Jorja i see what you have been talking about.

I just saw Bond today and it was still pact. I LOVED this movie. I am so glad that i chose this one to be my first JB movie. I dont know what was different about this one, the awesome song "You know my name" that i now cant get out of my head of the new Bond  (Wow what a body he has)

There were only a couple things bad that happened in the theator. 1) We missed the awesome begining so when we got home we had to get it on Youtube. 2) A guy at the back where we were sitting was high on something and took off his pants so the sacuerity had to come near the end. 3) These damn teen agers thought that a theator was the best time to recap there days at 12:00 in the moring, call all of their friends and then 5 secounds later their friends call them back, run up and down the stairs wait i mean stomp (Literally) down the stairs. I really wish my sister was working so she could have thrown them out but this was her 3rd time seeing it

Awesome movie, loved it and a great way to start off the new year even though that was like 2 weeks ago ;)

^ Yay I'm happy you enjoyed the film :D! As long as you caught the scene where Bond walks out of the ocean it's all good . That definitely is the best way to start off the new year . Seriously though this is my favourite film after Goldfinger. Casino Royale was probably the saddest film in the franchise & the end always gets to me :(. I've seen it twice & I'd love to see it a couple more times. Oh, and the theme song rocks. I have it on my iPod & I listen to it constantly.

kicky, I recommend watching Goldfinger & From Russia With Love next. A lot of fans find those two of the greatest Bond films & they'll get you hooked. I suggest avoiding Tomorrow Never Dies as that one might turn you off the Bond films .

Jorja your icon is hipnotic.

I think i am going to watch some other Bond movies now.

OMG when James said "Now everyone will know that you scratched my..."

^ That line was hilarious. It actually made the torture scene more easier to watch.

I recommend watching the first three Bond films in the franchise which are Dr.No, From Russia With Love & Goldfinger. Not because there are the early ones, but because they are the better ones IMO. Sean Connery was all of them. The only Connery one I didn't enjoy was Diamonds Are Forever but who knows, maybe you'll enjoy it. Oh, and Thunderball & Octopussy are enjoyable as well. Basically, every Bond film except a few are good to an extent but it all depends on your taste. Lemme know what you think when you see them :).

And yes, my icon is quite hypnotic. I could look it at for 5 minutes non-stop, no joke .

so there was a film called thunderball? well i guess now this makes sense
the critics loved casino royale and obviously the people did too, its made the most money of any bond film. but there are still stupid people out there that whine and moan about daniel craig taking the role. i found a review where a woman said he was too scrawny to be bond! daniel craig? scrawny? was she blind?!?!
i think he pulled it off, but of course there will always be people that hate you in that business. those are the kinds of people who are never happy. i think ill watch some of the older bond movies eventually, but the ones with pierce brosnan werent my cup of tea. id never watch the two ive seen of him again. but cant wait for casino royale to come to dvd and for the next ones with craig to come out :D
its weird though, that they released it in november. i wonder why they wouldnt have waited til 2007, seems like built in advertising right there

I totally agree. I also find that those who were around when Dr.No was released were much tougher on Craig then say, people my age. Becoming a Bond is very big & people will always judge the actor. I mean, playing Bond is becoming a part of history so people naturally freaked out when Craig came around. He's blond, which is the total opposite of all the actors that portrayed Bond. Then again, I'm sure people forgot all about his hair colour when they watched Casino Royale . Anyway, Martin Campbell made the right decision.

Oh, and I agree with your statement about Pierce. Sure, he's nice on the eyes but he made Bond too nice. I mean, I don't want Bond to be an emotionless robot but Bond is pretty much a macho, non-remorseful man & Craig excelled at showing that. When he found about Vesper he didn't showcase any sorrow at all. He was mad, & that was really something to see.

Basically, I'm glad Craig is here to stay for two more 007 films :D.

*eta* Eva Green fans, check this out & vote for her to win!

i can tell you he hasnt aged well  makeup is his friend. not to sound mean or anything, but even my moms fantasies of pierce were spoiled apon seeing him in person.
if i remember the pierce movies ive seen correctly, they were a little cheesey with the jokes yes? i really cant picture him doing the things craig did in casino royale, and not just because hes 55. sure, the action scenes were amazing and if they seemed, to me at least, a little over the top for a young buck like craig they would have for sure seemed boarderline rediculous for pierce. but also the whole attitude thing, maybe in the next few movies we will see how bond goes from the angry scorned lover to the playboy who wont get close to a woman again.
just some thoughts since i know theres still a bunch of people out there who think it should have been pierce in casino royale

Actually, Bond has gotten closer to a woman yet again & has actually married her. It happened in On Her Majesty's Secret Service. Even though it was released as a film before Casino Royale aired it's technically the second time Bond fell in love & lost his lover. The woman was Contessa Teresa di Vicenzo & she was assassinated by Ernst Stavro Blofeld on her wedding day with Bond as they were driving away. In one specific Bond film, which I cannot remember, Bond was shown placing flowers at her grave. So basically, he lost the two women he loved most, Vesper Lynd & Tracy Vincenzo-Bond. Also, Vesper was the reason why it's so hard for Bond to trust anyone, especially women anymore. That's pretty why he sleeps with them & does nothing more. So in a sense Vesper tainted his love life & his outlook on women :(. Now they are just objects to him, at least in the sense I receive. Or, maybe he has realized that he cannot fall in love due to his line of work. Who knows. Speaking of which...

Broccoli also confirmed that Bond 22 would be a continuation of Casino Royale. Daniel Craig may have hinted at the direction of Bond 22 when he stated that the events of Casino Royale would lead Bond to "go out for revenge".[5] If true, Bond 22 would be the first true 007 sequel (previous films have been linked, such as Dr. No and From Russia With Love or On Her Majesty's Secret Service and Diamonds Are Forever, but this would be the first original sequel). Eva Green has stated in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that Vesper's French-Algerian boyfriend mentioned in Casino Royale may be the villain in Bond 22. It is also possible she may return in a flashback/video scene. At the end of the book, Bond on Set: Filming Casino Royale when filming the last scene of Casino Royale in which Mr White is shot in the leg by Bond, Daniel Craig quotes "This is the last scene in the movie and I wanted to show that Bond means business. We don't know if he kills this guy. We certainly suspect that he is going to extract some information from him."

That sounds very interesting & promising!

Yep, Casino Royale is definitely one of the best Bond films & one of the better Bond films in a while. For me it kinda went downhill after GoldenEye but Casino Royale has restored my faith & love for the 007 series. I'm glad they went with a new Bond.

I found this quite interesting....

Has actress Eva Green left her 'soap in the shower' for a possible return to the James Bond film series?

According to movie rumour site JoBlo, the latest Bond Girl has a clause in her contract that gives her an option to return to the series in a future 007 movie featuring Daniel Craig.

That would make Eva Green the second Bond girl to appear in more than one 007 film. The first is Maud Adams with Octopussy & The Man With The Golden Gun, but naturally with different roles.

Ooh, and remember to vote for Eva! The link to vote for her is a few posts back up :D.

You are forgetting Ursula Undress... er... Andress who appeared in Dr. No and the earlier Casino Royale. It might not be one of the official films in the series, but it is still a Bond film.

Ooh yeah that's right. D'oh . The earlier Casino Royale has Peter Sellers in it right? Yeah, if I'm thinking of the right one then I've been wanting to see it for a while. Unfortunately, no local video store carries it :(.

Yes, David Niven was James Bond, Peter Sellers was a recruit trainee to help out in a card game, and the film also had Woody Allen, Orson Welles as Le Chiffre, Joanna Pettet, William Holden, Daliah Lavi, Charles Boyer, John Huston as M, and many other big name stars of that time (1967).
