Can we cast me as Chad ASAP?! ;)

Keck's Exclusives: CSI Has a Wonka Moment

Oh Ted Danson, what have you gotten yourself into? It what sounds more suited for an episode of Bones or Castle (or Hart to Hart), CSI's third episode of its new season — entitled "Bittersweet" — will feature a death straight out of the Willy Wonka chocolate factory.

When a former Abercrombie model named Chad gets down in the dumps over his weight gain, he flings himself into a vat of chocolate and drowns. I'm not kidding. And there's more.

A chocolate mold of the poor kid will be discovered by the CSI team, which requires the actor who plays this role to have a body mold taken of his whole form.

Does this sound like CSI to you? Are you concerned that in season 12 the long-running CBS procedural has perhaps jumped the chocolate bunny? Or are you a fan of CSI's more far-out cases like those plushies and furries from season four?

OMG, that scenario totally made me giggle like a smitten junior high kid.

More info on Cath's exit. :)

I know people are excited about Ted Danson joining CSI, but nobody's talking about Marg Helgenberger's exit. What do you know? — Tammy

ADAM: Executive producers Carol Mendelsohn and Don McGill tell us that, although they're still hoping that Helgenberger will stay, they have been working on her character's swan song since the end of last season. "The final case that Catherine will be involved in will actually put her and her family and the people that she cares about in jeopardy," Mendelsohn says. "Catherine won't just take it lying down, for sure. She'll take matters into her own hands and get to the truth. It will be Catherine, action hero."

Catherine action hero sounds AWESOME! Think there will be an action figure made of her?

Just what we all love....more "CSIs in Jeopardy"! :shifty:

^ It may not be any of the CSIs in jeopardy (besides Cath). It may just be Lilly, Lindsey and Lou. God why do so many people in Cath's life have "L" names? Didn't one of her brothers have an "L" name as well? There was also Langston, if last names count LOL.

Okay, so CSIs, their family, and the people they care about. Still....I don't know. I'm still suffering from the great story arc(s) of Ray and not entirely confident in them to do this right. I hope I'm wrong!

I hope you're wrong too Smokey! :) "Oh goody, CSIs/relatives in jeopardy again " was my first thought too.

I giggled at the chocolate thing. I'm optimistic (until they prove me wrong), so for now I'll trust that they do it well, not silly. I don't mind the unusual cases, like the furries, they keep things from getting too predictable and stale.

Well, I can't say that I'm very excited about Catherine, action hero. Or, more CSI's in jeopardy. I haven't kept count, but it seems that Catherine and her family/loved ones have been in jeopardy more than anyone on the the show. IDK, I guess I was hoping we were out of the gun toting CSI's-as-cops since things are suppose to be a bit lighter and Danson's character is sans gun. At least be thankful, Smokey, that we haven't heard the word 'explosive' yet for this season.

Now, the death by chocolate case sounds intriguing in that plushies weird way, and I'm so ready for a passionate Sara-on-the-case episode. :)

I'm curious by the wording of "family." Does it mean her "family" at work (fellow CSI's) or her personal family; Lily, Lindsey, her sister, etc.

I was just re-watching some old season 8 clips and with this latest spoiler for Catherine, it makes me wonder if Leo from "A thousand days" will come back to make good on his threat. It would seem plausible with the putting "Catherine and her family and the people that she cares about in jeopardy" - since according to him, she took away everything from him.

However, that would require continuity on the part of the CSI PTB, and we all know that's something they don't do very well.

But somehow, I've got to figure that the whole 'family' thing will include Lindsey, Lily and Lou, and maybe something from Sam's past. "the people that she cares about" would include the rest of her team, obviously.

I've actually been hoping the threat at the end of "A Thousand Days on Earth" does get closure for a while now, it'd be interesting if they used it for Catherine's exit storyline, and why not, they brought Hannah and Marlon back for Sara's finale.

You know, it would be nice if, for once, a character could be written out without a ton of angst. I realize that goes against the conventions of standard TV writing . . . and I guess that's my problem with it. Because it's standard, it's predictable. How refreshing it would be to have Catherine decide it's time for a change in her life, have her cake in the break room, shake hands with/hug her co-workers, and then move on. Maybe it's not the high drama that many in TV land seem to expect, but it sure is a lot more believable.

Catherine shouldn't even be getting demoted

In the old spoiler lab there were a few posts about a "round-about blame game", such as if Grissom wouldn't of left, Langston wouldn't have been hired = no Raskell, blame Grissom.

I've got one for you:

If Lt. Jane Gribbs wouldn't have pulled strings to get Holly assigned to CSI, then Warrick wouldn't have left her alone at a crime scene, she wouldn't have been shot, Sara wouldn't have been brought in from the SFPD, she wouldn't have been assigned the Hannah/Marlon West case, which means they couldn't have returned to haunt her, she wouldn't have left, Grissom wouldn't have resigned to follow her, which means no $ to hire Langston into the team = No Raskell.

I think we should have a scene where Brass arrests Lt. Jane Gribbs from Traffic for the manslaughter of Nate Haskell :p

Yeah I'm with everyone, not thrilled about Catherine and of her loved ones in danger again, but as long as she doesn't die, and in the end leaves happily, I'll live :)

Again can't wait to see the chocolate thing either  and I so agree about the word "explosive" and don't forget BABE

That is a good idea :) though I wouldn't be surprised if they forgot about Leo

That's true :)

I think I'd be 1000 times more excited about the Catherine spoiler if we hadn't had Super!Ray for the past two and a half years. However, I'm a teensy bit excited for Action!Cath, cause I'm a sucker for anything catherine related. I'd love to see Leo return, or for her to get some closure to Stephanie Watson's murder. Of course, if that were to happen, and Bruce McGill came back to reprise the role of Jimmy, I'd be giggling the whole time and would think of him as Korsak.

Another possible thing is someone from Sam's past comes for her? That would explain the possible casino theory from last year, and why her family would be at risk.

Or maybe Adam Novak makes an appearance. ;)
