Yeah, I know that Hawkes is supposed to be(or have been) a child prodigy or something. But Lindsay isn't. So yeah, it would be more realistic to say that she's in her thirties.

As for gender of the little one? I'd kinda hope for a boy, since that whole over protective father business is a bit cliche.

What I'm really hoping is that the kid won't suffer from rapid aging. We meet him when he's a newborn, then the next time we see him he's seven. A few episodes after that he's eleven, then a few episodes later he's seventeen...

"Sleight Out of Hand" was just bad math. There's no way Lindsay could be 26 and be where she is in her career, and she doesn't look 26. Early-to-mid 30s is where I'd put both of them as well.

Oh god, I didn't think about the kid aging rapidly, but that does happen a lot. Didn't it happen with Ray Jr. on Miami and slightly with Lindsey Willows on CSI as well?

Yeah, she went from being around 11 or 12 to being a high school graduate over the course of 3 seasons.

^Yeah, that's what I thought. Kind of stretches believability a bit, to say the least. I imagine the same thing will happen with Danny and Lindsay's kid.

Which, if they keep aging the kid rapidly, should make Lindsay a wrinkled old lady by Season 7!

In these situations, it's only the kids that grow older. The parents remain the exact same age.

The main purpose for the rapid aging of the children is so the kids can be given lines to speak, and little side plots of their own.

One of the rare exceptions to this rule that I've noticed is the show Medium, where the three daughters age at a normal rate.

I think it could also apply to Bewitched, since Tabitha seemed to age at a relatively normal rate herself.

Part of it, of course, is how often the kid appears on camera.

They aged Lindsay Willows an extra three years, and they aged Bruce Woods in Miami an extra five years.
I think that Ray Jr.'s age was fine on Miami though. In season one Ray Jr. looked to be nine, in season three he seemed 11, and in season five he seemed 13. If he shows up later this season, he should be 15. I thought this was consistent.

If it isn't a girl called Montana, i'll eat my hat! You can't get any cornier than these writers / producers. And am I reading IMDB right, are the same people writing and producing? If so the need to try doing just one specialism and see if the quality rises.

Most of the people that produce also write for the show.

    Eeeeee.
It is one thing to give a kid a dumb nickname like "Montana." But it is another to name the child that!
We have mommy who has little personality aside from being from Montana, so what do we do? We define that child by the mother's lack of personality?
No way! I hope everyone has to eat their hat, because "Montana" is the worst, stupidest, and most contrived name ever. The writers should get a baby name book and thumb through it until they find something that works well with "Messer."

If they do that, I'll stop watching the show.

If it's a boy, they could call him Monty.

With the way that I'm feeling about this entire storyline, I just really wish that the baby would be born biracial. :guffaw:

Danny gets to cry, Lindsay does 'scrunch face' and I'll start to be happy with the show again.

Enough of this trash all ready! :scream:

That would be really funny.

    Lindsay: Ooops.

    Danny: WAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!

Hawkes: But...but...I totally wore a condom!!

Hey! Don't be dragging Hawkes into this mess. :p Hill said Hawkes needs a love interest but I don't think either of them are that desperate.
