Marg's grand exit

I don't know everytime I hear this I think of several things:

Catherine putting a top hat on, grabbing a stick and singing, "Viva Las Vegas!"

or

Catherine grabbing an umbrella and standing outside until the wind carries her off.

Seriously, I guess I'm warped.:guffaw:

Oh STOP! You just put a picture of a stripper pole in my mind with that first scenario! :guffaw:

But seriously, however her exit goes, I really hope it either ends with Cath & Lindsey doing something, or in the way that Gil's exit happened - with a smile on her face, and her head held high as she walks away. Then we could see her walking into her casino and overlooking it all with a proud look.

In the end, I want a smile on her face, not tears streaming down it.

From TVLine.com:

CSI | Given the news that Season 12 (premiering Wednesday, Sept. 21) is very likely Marg Helgenberger’s last, it’d stand to reason that William Petersen might make an encore, playing Gil to her Catherine. But as of Wednesday, when I spoke to show boss Carol Mendelsohn, nothing yet was set in stone. “Listen, every year we go to Billy – it’s sort of like a pilgrimage – to say, ‘Will you come back?’ Last year we were successful, and he came back for that one episode [via Skype with wife Sara].” And now? “We talked to Billy a few weeks ago, and he was talking about what Gil might cook for dinner for Sara — and he said ‘grilled cheese went very well with beer’ – so you never know. I mean, they are married, and we’d like the audience to be able to see Gil and Sara sometime.” So cross those fingers!

Last night on our local news there was an event on TV, CBS, in L.A., and Robert David Hall was interviewed. He said that "Marg is leaving after this season" How "he'd worked with her for going on 12 years and [he called her Margie], and she was like a sister to him and how much he loved her" very sweet. So she will be in S/12. And on Billy returning for a brief appearance, that still doen't mean he's coming back full time~

Oh man!

You know I really would like Billy to not ever come back if we get to see something like this! :scream:

Yeah, we all get that. Still would be nice to see him.

Man, I don't want to see that either. His appearance for Marg's exit, should have nothing to do with GSR. Let's not have another character leaving being overshadowed with that. Warrick dies, GSR moments, Grissom leaves GSR moments. Please don't do that to Marg.

:eek:Join the club, this is so horrible of an idea. Grilled cheese and beer? How old are you, Billy? 22? Come on, really? That's so sad. GSR and grilled cheese...never thought I'd hear those two things together in the same sentence.

I realize GSR will interact because they're married. Duh. What concerns me is in one day the news goes from being about WP returning for Marg's exit to all about GSR.

Grizzled & cheesy? Yeah, that sums up GSR

Thanks for that info, DW. That's one reason why Marg said she wasn't ready to leave after last season - it was hard to give up being around people she's spent most every day with for more than a decade. I'm guessing that's a reason that Jorja also returned after leaving.

Exactly! Hence the concerns about a WP appearance overshadowing Marg's grand finale.

For some reason I didn't think about the appearance being reduced to ZOMG!GSR! because they were talking about WP showing up for Marg. Silly, naive me.

It wouldn't surprise me since CM is obsessed with GSR.

I would love to see that scenario, and I honestly believe we will see something like that. Lindsey definitely needs to be part of it.

Also, I love grilled cheese sandwiches and beer. Comfort food.
Billy can come to my house anytime and fix me dinner. :)

Ditto - My looking forward to Gris coming back for Cath has now changed to dread. But I should have known...

I'm curious. What level of GSR would be considered acceptable should Petersen return for Marg's finale? Obviously since they are married Grissom would be expected to interact at least once with Sara. I doubt that any of the actors would be happy with a GSR love fest though. Petersen in particular would probably want the focus to be on Catherine and her exit.
