"Young Man With A Horn" Discussion *SPOILERS*

Just freeing this thread from the tack feel free to continue the discussion. :)

I really enjoyed this episode. While I see some found the beginning was slow, I thought it was at a great pace. The guest stars were great, I especially loved Tippi Hedren's first scene with Grissom -- it reminded me so many ways of "Kiss-Kiss, Bye-Bye" and Tippi brought great character to her role.

Greg and Riley are adorable together and I think Riley is a great addition to the show and I think she would have been a perfect fit for the show right from the beginning. The case itself in some ways did remind me of American Idol (lol, Anjaya, doesn't that remind you of Sanjaya from like two seasons ago?) however it was written well and it was nice to see Holt McCallany from CSI: Miami!

WOW, I so admire and respect David Rambo, for digging up old Vegas like the other old days 'Kiss Kiss Bye Bye" and letting us see the old Moulin Rouge, as it was called in those days. I also while living there researched the old history of Vegas and it was called the Moulin Rouge not the Chateau Rouge. I stood outside, and it was eerie and sure-real to see a part of the old days. So on this episode . The fake type "American Idol" show with the poor girl who didn't stand a chance of winning and wanted to see her grandma's roots a former showgirl, Jasmine . Hodges to Archie "I never watch it, it's more of a humiliation than a talent show" Archie "Well, you'd know about that" good one Archie. Brass with suspect. "Hard to get your mojo working with daddy lurking" Hodges on the old ceiling with asbestos "It's like it happened 20 or 30 years ago" Grissom "Brilliant theory Dave" Hodges "Thank You" [still doesn't get it]

Nick and Greg, Greg so impressed me with his knowledge of the old days at the Casino, and probably knew about all of this researching his book, which I hope we get to see. Gil and Tippi Hedren, he was so sweet and tender with her "Why didn't you sell it"? Her" There's no sentiment anymore, they would have torn it down. Gil "Do you want to see it now" "her, "You can only wake up from a dream once" The sax player squating and living there, who was her lover. So the girl fell , it was an accident. County sheriff Waite, good tiny role, and his old cronies playing cards, and Grissom with them, so who knew he had played cards? He was so cool, calm and collected He knew exactly what he was doing. The last scene with him and his colleague Cath chatting about Vegas, and he really did come to Vegas to play cards. So for 9 years we never knew this He THOUGHT he loved a girl, but he stated "Poker allowed me to be a loner and still make money" So, guess this was before he was teaching in San Francisco. How many other skeltons does he have in his past? Maybe their both so devastaed by Warrick's death that the idle chatter keeps their minds off of it. And I guess the chit-chat didn't involve Sara, but many on other sites said it did, oh well. She'll probably be on soon. And the killing of the owner, was also bogus, that never happened! So for all of you fans who want to see the real Casino that was shown in this episode here ya' go:bolian:A recent fire damaged it terribly, but it still stands on the West side of Las Vegas~

MOULIN ROUGE

I was just wondering in this ep. with Tippi Hedren vs Faye Dunnaway, both seasoned actresses, which one is older? they were similiar in their roles on this and the "Kiss Kiss Bye-Bye" which got Greg enthusatic about writing a book:bolian:

Fay was born Jan. 14, 1941 making her about to turn 68.
Tippi was born Jan 19, 1930 making her about to turn 79.

As you can see they do share a little in common in real life, both born in Jan. and their birthdays are five days apart.

 WOW, 79 I can't believe it, she look's fabulous. I thought she was about 55-60..& her daughter Melanie Griffith is what 45?.. thank's Destiny I also thought Faye was younger, amazing:confused: What impressed me with both these characters and the last one with Tippi, was the kind gentle respect that Grissom showed to both of them so sweet and tender!

Your welcome and to further answer your question...

Tippi born Nathalie Kay Hedren has been married 4 times, divorced 3, with one daughter Melanie Griffith born on August 9, 1957 that makes her 51. and Mels [3] kids are Alexander Bauer (with Steven) 23, Dakota Johnson (With Don) 19, Stella Banderas (with Antonio) 12.

Fay born Dorothy Faye Dunaway has been married and divorced twice, with one son Liam Walker Dunaway O'Neill (with Terry O'Neill) born in 1980 making him about 28.

Thank's again Destiny my goodness your a walking encylopedia. It did refresh my memory on Melanie, and Antonio and thier daughter and her son with Don Johnson, but 4 the marriages, on Tippi didn't know that. And I didn't know about Faye and her son, but it's always cool to keep updated. I hope that from Greg's passion on Vegas history, he'll publish that book he's writing, and down the line will feature this in an episode~

I got actresses confused. I was thinking the whole time it was the woman who was in Psycho (Jamie Lee Curtis' mother whose name escapes me at the moment), but now I realize it's Melanie Griffith's mother.

He was at the airport when he was called back "For Warrick" to talk to the publishers, and I hope they do feature this and his book and the details in an up-coming episode, that would be wonderful, he seems really interested and riveted by Old Vegas:thumbsup:
