Dull episode IMO. I don't know, it just didn't really grab my attention. The preview for next week grabbed my attention more then this episode, but that's for another thread. Back OT, I somewhat liked the episode. Totally lost my attention 30 minutes in. I tried to focus, but it wasn't doin it for me. :p

Regarding the Cath/Gil walk, I think we figured out one thing; Fetal pigs and Cadavers are Grissom's first, true, and only love!:guffaw: But on a more serious note, Gris leaving is becoming more and more real. I mean not many eps left. I'm just glad he confided in Cath. And yes, I figured Sara would be brought up in some way, shape, or form. But what else is new, right?:shifty:

But, I digress. I did enjoy the Nick/Greg scenes. watching this epside, I realized how much I miss nerdy Greg. That's the one I know and love!;)

Personally, I'm not surprised that Riley only had 2 scenes because I don't think the audience has warmed to her. CSI should have been smart and introduced her in much smaller doses so that fan favorites were not crowded out. The Riley overdose just pissed off long time viewers!

Severely. Let me say that again. SEVERELY. Small doss of new characters are the smart route. I mean, I was totally team Riley, until she crowded Greg and Nick. So I was excited to see a little less of her.

When did Nick mention Warrick and what was the line? And how did I miss it? lol. I was even thinking about Warrick since I saw GD on Impostor this morning.

Yes. Of course he is:rolleyes::shifty:. But here's something with a little more content. Quick question: Big fan of Greg, but lost attention when it came to his whole book writing journey. Is that how he knew so much about old Vegas. If so, was that regarding the spoiler we received for this episode months ago saying Greg would use his knowledge of Old Vegas in a case. Is this the case to which they were suggesting? Or did I miss something big time?

    My episode notes:
    * this episode started out very slow, but really gained momentum and increased my interest as it went on.

    * I’m extremely disappointed that Ralph Waite didn’t have any scenes with Marg. I was hoping for a mini-reunion with the two.

    * I loved the Old Vegas theme again, although it makes me miss Scott Wilson’s wonderful character of Sam Braun even more. Tippi Hedren’s role here reminded me so much of Faye Dunaway’s guesting spot a couple seasons ago. I hate it when they kill off great guest stars, only to have a new ‘big name’ come in to play a very similar role.

    * I was annoyed with the ‘American Idol’ themed beginning. I hate that ‘reality show’ crap. However, I know that Marg has mentioned that she likes the show, so maybe she was able to suggest the subject to TPTB to do an episode around that theme.

    * I liked how we had references to Lindsey, Sam, and Warrick – all in one episode. It made me smile.

    * Interestingly enough, I saw signs of the good old lovable Grissom from the early days – especially when he was talking to the casino widow, and to the old sheriff and playing poker. It’s like he had the spark back in his eyes. Or, maybe it’s just that he has the cute dark beard that isn’t all gray & scraggly.

My full review can be found here

When Nick and Greg first arrived at that old casino place, Nick said something like "the last time I was this deep in the hood I was working a case with Warrick".

I'm thinking it is that case. I can't say for sure though. But, I'm sure he did a lot of research in preparation for his book. I mean, he talked to Faye Dunaway's character and read her book which gave him some insight/inspiration and he also talked to Lily (Cath's mom) about the "old Vegas" stuff. Greg once said he absorbs information. I'm thinking maybe he has a bit of a photographic memory and all of that info stuck in his head and he hasn't forgotten it since.

Oh DUH! I've been trying to remember what episode Seamus Dever was in (the guy that played Drew Rich, the producer of the reality show in this one). He was in 6x03 Bite Me, as the Western Airlines exec that Cath & Sara talk to (one of my favorite scenes) - the one that was having an affair with the dead woman. Jeez, they recycle these actors more frequently now on this show.

The sad thing is there are a lot of other actors out there that they can still use but I guess they just do not go for them.

Yeah I was hoping we would get a mention of Greg's book though after his whole little story about old Vegas. I still wonder if he ever has got to the publisher or not. I just bet they drop the ball on that story.

this show used to be the best show on tv, but now this show is going downhill.
Grissom wants to leave, everyone knows it...and they really are not using this time to flesh him out more..

i was very disappointed by this episode...we have so little time left with grissom we should be getting more of him.

I got a giggle out of Greg's glitter fetish comment. Add that to the fact he was dancing around in the showgirl's head dress in S1's Table Stakes and it sounds like Greggo might be a closet drag queen. I'd pay good money to see that

I have to admit I was a little bored in this episode, I guess the Old Vegas theme just doesn't appeal to me.

The little chat between Cath & Grissom was quite funny, I liked that he needed more money because of spending it all on fetal pigs - very true to his character! Didn't you just know Hodges would be one of those to vote for the worst candidate, I love his character and wish they'd use him more often like this. And yay to Archie for throwing a little insult his way! Just a pity they've seriously underused all the labrats so far.......

I was bored also with this episode. Normally when I DVR CSI, I watch it all week. Last night I watched it once and then deleted it. It was okay, but it wasn't as good as "Kiss Kiss, Bye Bye," as far as the old Vegas theme goes. Sam Braun and Warrick definitely would've been good for this episode, since Sam "helped build the town," and Warrick seems like he might've been a kid in the candy store going through that old Casino. I don't know how I missed Nick mentioning Warrick. It's good to know that I'm not delusional when it came to the last scene. I know I didn't hear Grissom or Catherine mention Sara, although after reading some of these post I have to wonder if I missed that too. But I did like the last scene, it kind of reminded me of older episodes of CSI ending with the characters sharing a scene together and discussing other things. I like when they give us a little more detail about a characters' personal life.

i forgot to mention that i've noticed Riley talks really slow. especially in that first scene she had in the episode with Greg. it seemed like she was acting, and not being a real person. it kind of annoyed me a bit.

i do like her, though. she didn't seem to talk this way before so maybe it's a one time thing. she seems to be fitting the team quite nicely. though, i think i would have liked Sofia as a CSI better. *shrug*
