Who would you cast as Dr. Hawkes' love interest???

I adore Gina Torres (Firefly is onr of the best fantastic shows and Serenity is cool movie), but Gina as Sheldon's love interest...don't know, can't imagine her with Hawkes. Just can't. What do think about Thandie Newton? She is charming, doesn't she?
