What's your ethnic background?

 Good, I am not alone :D

Finland... I should go there someday. Maybe tomorrow... you free, DaWacko? I'll bring the wood :D

I was born in America but I'm 100 percent Irish. w00t! And I envy y'all who are like a thousand different things. That's really cool- you can take the best parts of all the cultures and blend them together.

I would love to be...

Greek(I already am half)
Croatian(" ")
Spanish
Italian

Aw, being spanish isn't all that great. I'm 75% hispanic, and believe me, there's nothing really special about it. I once had a racist remark thrown at me because I'm 25% arab. And my great grandmother just calls me 'gordita' whenever she sees me so...

I don't think there really are advantages to being from certain backgrounds. We're all equal, good and different in our own beautiful way, right?

Perhaps it's preference...? We shouldn't let stereotypes tell us that it's better or superior to be one race or another.

Exactly, I agree with you.

Both my grandmothers were born in Holland- one grandpa born in Sweden- and one in Ireland- which makes me
DUTCH
SWEDISH
IRISH

I agree too. Honestly, there may be days where I wish I was a different heritage but I would never, ever give up being half Greek. I'm one of the proudest Greeks you'll know and I'll always be like that.

I'm damn glad to hear that! I once had a racist remark thrown at me because I'm 25% arab, but I'm not upset that I'm arab! I'm damn proud of it!

^Exactly. I've heard many people make rude comments about the Greek culture but I let it pass by. People are going to do that about every single culture so really, what can you do? I just tell myself that they're jealous 'cause hey...being Greek(well, half in my case) it's the best thing in the world!

It's holiday tomorrow so I have nothing planned so yeah... you can bring your own wood if you like, but we have plenty ;)

Last Aug when I worked in World Championships in Athletics in Helsinki... I was doing these "badges" to everyone who worked there... and there was this old man, media people and he seemed to be very sensitive about his heritage, otherwise he was sooo funny and made us all laugh and very nice man. He had passport of US. Conversation of ours

Me: Can I have your passport, please?
Jimmy: Sure you can, dear
Jimmy: Oh, I'm Irish btw
Me: But we should add nationality by the passport but...
Jimmy: But I'm Irish. I want Irish flag to it. My mom moved to US when I was in her womb and she really didn't ask me where I wanted to be born. I'm Irish.
Me: Wait I ask about this...
*comes back*
Me: Ok. Let's put Irish since you are so sure about that you are Irish *laughs and corrects nationaliy*
Jimmy: Yes I am. Thank you very much. *laughs*

I am very proud to be English!!
