I don't think them sleeping together was the worst part--I think it was the way it was just glossed over afterward. If the writers weren't going to follow through with the repercussions of the act, they shouldn't have bothered to put it in there. Personally, I think if they'd really delved into it and carried things over for a longer period of time, showing the effects of it more, it could have been a good storyline.
(And no, I don't mean 'good' as in positive, just that it would make for 'good', interesting TV.)
As it was, like you said, "it trivialized the entire tragedy" in a way.
I also wish they hadn't decided to turn the whole storyline into Lindsay's Emo Time at the last minute. If you're not going to carry a storyline through for a long time, you don't need to throw in everything but the kitchen sink as far as plot components go. They tried to turn 'Danny grieves for a child that died in his care' into 'Danny grieves for a child that died in his care, he has grief sex with the child's mother, his maybe/maybe-not girlfriend has issues--' but then they just stopped dead in the middle of the rushed job they were doing, putting a bow on it and acting like they finished the story.
Yeah, right.
Warrick getting married. It started all the bad stuff in his life: divorce, taking medication, being the main suspect in a murder investigation and getting shot! Cause the marriage was the real reason for all this to happen.
I also tought Lindsay and Danny shouldn't have slept together. It totally ruined their chemistry!
2. The transformation of H into super H (there should be a smiley with a little cape...)
