Hit and Run
Does anyone here play video games? I sure do.

My favorite game series is the Suikoden series. My most favorite game is a tie between Suikoden 2 & 5.
My three most favorite game series are Suikoden, Kya Dark Lineage and Chrono Cross/Trigger.

If you like video games, you might want to look through the Let's Talk Video Games thread in the Miscellaneous Forum of this board. You can discuss your most or least favorite games. Maybe offer or ask for help on specific games.

If you play any of the CSI games for computer or video game systems, over in the Mechandise Forum of the board are The "I need help with this specific game" Thread and Finally! A CSI: NY Computer Game thread.

Then, to see some pictures of a serious gamer, check out the website for Gibby's Game Room.

I moved this over to Misc, so it can be merged if the mods want to the exsisting topic.

Well old one is over three years old so we can live with this ;)

and oh I play games! Like stated before,Zelda series are my fave, same with older FFs - cannot really play newer ones since I am more Nintendo person and it has only some crappy DS games turned to be Wii games.

Anyways, I own SNES, N64, GC and Wii.

Ah last year I bought Soul Calibur II for GC and it's awesome, probably the best of the series.

At the moment I've been playing Twilight Princess for Wii, on Xmas break my bf bought us (we own Wii together) New Super Mario Bros and we played thru it in 3 weeks. Oh it's so much fun as multiplayer :p To see who gets upset first. Another wondeful game for relationship is Mario Kart ;)

Then me has Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 and TV Party - excellent games   Party games indeed. Same with Wario Ware Smooth Moves.

We got Sports Resort and two Motion Plus as an engagement gift from our friends, hee - fun as well!

Then I play some PC games, such as Battlefield, NFS...

List of ma games

Back in the old days, SNES games cost 100€ (about 600marks) so we didn't get those so often - perhaps one for Christmas if lucky ;) And all the games bought are bought by me (and nowdays by my bf) so have to be careful what to buy.
My one "on list" game is Mario and Sonic and Winter Olympics and Metroid Prime Trilogy

[we also have Philips Videopac 7000 and Pick-Axe Pete for that.. the best game ever :p ]

Teehee, I got really lucky with my GC. My sister gave it to me and when I tried to look for Zelda games thru actions etc. and prices were 50e and above.
Anyways, we've had local Nintendo shop that was quitting to sell those so I saw GC Zelda pack (console+Wind Waker) + memorycard + 1 game for 80e. I asked if I could pick the game but no, only used ones.
So I bought it... except it had no memorycard so I went back and complained... that woman is bit...erm... strange so she asked her husband if they have memory card and he said no but then she said I can have one new game instead, she took one from shelf (one I had looked at day before) and asked if it will do? I said, it's fine and walked out. She gave me Zelda game Four Swords - also hard to find and 50-60e in auctions.
I sold console for 45e so after all... I got two Zeldagames (that could have cost me 120e) for 35e :p

I didn't know there was a topic for this, I mean video games is media. So I didn't know it was in miscellaneous.

While that could be true, in this instance thats not the case.
General tv & Media = All (non CSI) tv shows/music/movies and news that pertains to those catagories.

As to finding whether or not a topic is already there, on the main board at the top there is a catagory name "Search" type in what your looking for (ie Video Games) and you will come up with options of what forums they are in, if they have an X next to them they were closed in that forum, if they don't check out the thread and see if that is what your looking for.

You also have this same option in all forums as well. :)

I own a PS3 and a DS lite. Which I play pretty rarely at the minute as not the greatest fan of video games. However I own both Singstar and Guitar/Band Hero games on the PS3 which make for interesting games as part of a group of friends. I regularly play Singstar with my housemates and other friends, which when combined with alcohol is a lot of fun.
On the DS I have mostly puzzle games and also have the 100 books cartridge which means I can use it to read. I love Tetris, always have done and probably always will.

Innovation on display at Games Conference
Mar 13, 5:21 AM (ET)
By DERRIK J. LANG

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - Motion controls and social gaming were the hot topics at this week's Game Developers Conference, the annual convention of game designers, programmers and executives.

Sony shook up the conference with a splashy introduction of the PlayStation Move, a new wand-shaped PlayStation 3 motion controller system that will rival Nintendo's popular Wii.

Sony showed off several games that use the new system, which utilizes a PlayStation Eye camera to detect players' movements. Among them were the action brawler "Motion Fighter," over-the-top party game "TV Superstars," athletic simulator "Sports Champions," mini-game collection "Move Party," third-person shooter "SOCOM 4" and wacky downhill racer "Slider."

"It's just scratching the surface," said TechSavvy technology analyst Scott Steinberg. "If you talk with game developers themselves, they will tell you they don't know what they're quite capable of doing because they're just coming to grips - no pun intended - with the hardware itself. At this point, we're just seeing some very early possibilities."

The biggest buzz, however, seemed reserved for social gaming, a form of easy-to-play online multiplayer games. With the success of such social games as the real-time crop-growing simulator "FarmVille" and the gangster role-playing saga "Mafia Wars," several conference sessions this year were devoted solely on how to tap into the gaming world's Next Big Thing.

"I feel like people are motivated more this year," said Game Developers Conference director Meggan Scavio. "They seem genuinely excited to be doing what they're doing, and there's an air of anticipation. I think they've discovered there's still new business models out there. There's still new ways to develop and make games that they hadn't thought of before."

There's still wow factor, too. On the sprawling expo floor, attendees gawked at the VirtuSphere, a huge hamster ball-like virtual reality doodad that allows users inside to control a virtual character by walking around inside it. Folks also crowded in front of a mock living room populated with hipsters rocking out with the upcoming guitar game "Power Gig."

"Civilization" and "Railroad Tycoon" designer Sid Meier delivered a keynote address to hundreds of attendees Friday morning about the psychology of game design, encouraging gamemakers to suspend players' disbelief without taking them out of the interactive experience. Meier told the audience that they can "save millions" just by tapping into gamers' imaginations.

"What it comes down to is we're trying to create this epic journey for the player where the process of playing a game takes you from one place to another," Meier later said. "By the end of the game, you've maybe learned something about the world and hopefully something about yourself. That's what we're really trying to do with the psychology of making a game."
