I'm still holding out with the idea that he will come back

You know I never thought of him being on days. :lol:
It would make more sense than leaving all together
Now I can go back to my original idea of them having a 'secret' affair or a not-so-secret relationship

Ok then it's a secret affair. That would explain all the non-looks from more current episodes such as A Bullet Runs Through It But in that episode there was a lot going on.
I'm with the idea they could have been having the secret affair during his final scenes in Bang Bang and explains his smile here

Still, can't complain when it comes to the good ol' days.
I rewatched Viva Las Vegas today for the first time in a while. I forgot how great that episode was! Not to mention all the quality Catherine/Vartann time. I also got to thinking, after Cath caught Chris cheating on her...who did she turn to for a shoulder to lean on?
I'm betting Vartann.
That would explain that smile!

Hey, I'm just stopping by to say I love that picture too.
It's a great angle of them both.
Viva Las Vegas is great. I love that episode.
I love most episodes with Catherine and Vartann, I especially like the ones where they work together.

It's a nice pic. I'm glad I was able to get a good capture. That sequence is short and since Vartann is out of focus in the first place, it was difficult to get a shot where he is relativly sitting still.
Anyway, I really enjoy Cath and Vartann's interaction more and more (mostly due to reading this thread!) and I want to capture more moments with them. Vartann and Keppler are the reason I started my recurring character site. I don't think enough props are given to them.

wooo! Yeah, that cap does fit the fic. Glad you liked it. I had fun writing it. Cath and Vartann interaction is something the show has been missing for a good while now.

I love the idea too that after Cath caught Chris cheating in Viva Las Vegas that she turned to Vartann. Maybe he said something to her first...
That could explain why they continued to work with each other. Maybe she requested Vartann as the detective on her cases. Wouldn't that be interesting...

Along the same lines.. when he was in the interrogation room with her in Weeping Willows what do you think he was thinking?
Do you think they were 'together' then and that's why he didn't comment on her face? Or was he waiting to see what happened with Adam?
I like the idea that he watched to see what happened with Adam and how Grissom reacted to her incedent with Adam.
