Valentine's Day

I am not single and I still really do not care for Valentines day. Valentines day, to me, is just another day. Honestly, if you love someone, you shouldn't love them extra on that one day, but love them whole heartidly everyday. I also plan to treat it just like any other day, like I always have.

I don't mind it really. This year was the first year I was gonna spend it with someone... But then I find out that he has to go on a 6 month Camp thing called 'Tihoi'. Bummer.

Does he go to St Peters?

Actually despite my anti-Valentinesness, i find it a perfect time to get back at people (aka my sister) call me mean but i'm sending her a phoney letter. hehe I never get sick of that.

I'm kind of bitter towards Valentine's Day. Maybe it's because I've never had a Valentine and walking around seeing everyone hand in hand is just a constant reminder of my future as being a cat lady. Oh well, what can ya do? :p

I also think it's way too over rated.

Apparently I'm the only person who doesn't have a problem with V-Day. Every other holiday has been commercialised beyond believe, it's good to have one that's completely up-front about it. It's basically free chocolate and time to spend with my girlfriend. It's not supposed to be a day where you love your partner more, it's supposed to be a day where you make sure you express it.

I don't see any issue with it. If you're lonely get out there and find someone!

Well as I stated above - I don't celebrate Valentine's Day. However - my son's pre-school had a Cupid's Ball Friday night. We went and it was absolutely adorable and he had so much fun. Today they are having a party and handing out Valentine's. He will be so excited to hand them out and bring his home. As long as he enjoys it - that is what matters to me.

Aww, that sounds adorable CSI_Kat. :D

We don't really celebrate Valentine's day but we did swap cards. And my husband did buy me some really beautiful flowers and he also brought home some gorgeous sushi for dinner. I, however, brought him nothing as I was under the impression that we don't buy gifts for each other on Valentine's day? I think his work colleagues must have guilted him into it. Oh well, I'm not complaining, but I probably sounded quite mean when I said "Oh, overpriced flowers. How lovely." :p

didn't celebrate it. but me & girl from work had heart shaped sequins & were handing them out to our favourite lads. lol. <3

"Oh, overpriced flowers. How lovely."

 That's a good one.

I was under the impression that we don't buy gifts for each other on Valentine's day?

i think men assume when women say they don't want to exchange gifts this really means, 'oh i don't expect a gift, but you better get something meaningful and special or else i will nag you for a good year'

I had a guy come into work last night buying a last minute gift. He asked me where sex and the city was, so i asked him what season. He was like 'seasons?' I don't think he knew it was a tv show  I showed him the seven box sets, he just took the first three seasons. He was pretty confused...oh dear.

don't celebrate V-day never have lol....

It's just great that the day takes place in the half term holidays other school would have been a pain in the backside....

I mean its would have made me sick seeing the couples asking each other and theen there's you not wanting to take any part in this horrible day..And then a really creepy guy walks up to you and asks you out "Will you be my valentine?" ofcourse your reaction would be to say no go away or something along those lines but then he got these puppy eyes looking at you and you have to think of a way to tell without him getting hurt or upset.....So you be straight with him and say you don't celebrate valentines day....he understands and acts like he's not hurt and walks away from you but you still feeling guilty afterward....

any day that gives you an excuse to gorge on chocolate is ok in my books. the lovey-dovey side of it, now that i cant handle. if i were in a relationship there would be no tackiness allowed.

valentines is important to me in an other way, its the anniversary of when our kitty pixie came to us from the breeder. as of yesturday, weve had her 16 years :D i would rather say 'happy anniversary!' to my kitty than 'be my valentine!' to some guy.... and yes, i am actually a crazy cat lady in the making

I don't personally celebrate V-day, but I see no problem with other people celebrating it. I'm glad it's in half term too. I did not want to have to listen to all my m8s talking about their boyfriends all day.

I agree with that! I have a lot of chocolate as a result of Valentine's Day. Chocolate makes me happy.
