    Erm...we have namedays! (and I think the Dutch have as well :p ). in Finland we actually have four different calendars. Finnish, Swedish, Orthodox and Sami.

    All have own names in own calendar :rolleyes:

    So not only a Greek thing :|

    I go by Finnish calendar and it's on 11th August. Together with the name Susanna (means "lily" also... I guess)

    I think only day when there's no name for that day is 25th Dec.

    It's usually celebrated with coffee & cake and kids may get even presents.

    Swedish and Norweians have name days too.

    I used to say I had the worst luck with my b'day and Name Day. When I was younger, school usually started on 11th Aug and after new year on 7th Jan, which is my b'day :p

    Aww that sucks haha. In the Greek tradition you must not eat any meat the day before your nameday. On the actual day you attend church & I think if you live in Greece you get the day off from schiik & maybe work. Name days are actual considered to be bigger then the person's actual birthday.

    Up: I'm gonna have dinner at my thia's house. She's gonna make my favourite which is lamb chops on the bbq :D!

    Down: It's 4:00 in the morning & I can't sleep. I blame the huge cup of coffee I had a few hours ago.
    Down: I can't stop sneezing.

    Ah yes, I just read about Orthodox Name Day and it's different from ours (Finnish/Lutheran).

    Up: Cake since it's Father's day :p

    Down: The relitives who came into town, had to leave before I got a chace to see them.

    Down: I felt sick on Friday, but have felt healthier Saturday ad ths morning. Because I was sick I canceled my plans with two good friends, which I now regret.
