Hmm...most of my travelling the past 20 years has been rock and roll road trips, whether I was playing or following a band that was, but there's been a few actual vacation-type vacations and one extended stay that qualified as living somewhere for a little while...
Furthest travelled from home - Calais, France
Longest trip (not counting temporary residency in England) - 10 days, Dallas/Ft Worth area
Wierdest trip - 1992, flew L.A. to Boston, stayed in MA a week, flew back to L.A., same afternoon turned around & flew to Houston for 3 days. (triangular trip would have cost more)
Busiest trip - Hawaii, June 1971, one week. I was a singer in a performing group, and we had 2 shows a day for five days, one day off, three shows one day, a radio show on the way to the hotel from the airport and a TV taping on the way to the airport from the hotel. I didn't see much of Hawaii...
Most fun trip - hard to say but probably a rock and roll trip that was me, my husband, my son and a buddy from England - drove from L.A. to Fresno to San Francisco to Denver (!) for shows, then back to L.A. with an overnight stay at the Grand Canyon. I could probably write a book about that trip alone!
What Happens In Vegas Stays In Vegas trip - 1993, me, my husband and son, two friends from England and one from the Netherlands. Won't spill it all, but extreme daytime heat, copious amounts of alcohol, one Brit buddy hauling my pajama-clad then-13-year-old through a casino figuring he'd be a chick magnet
, and a bed mattress pushed halfway out a hotel room window were involved...
Most relaxing trip - North Sonoma County, 1998. Nothing like the Wine Country, baby!
Fantasy trip I dream of taking - Germany to visit friends, then Italy, Greece, Serbia, maybe stop in Ireland on the way back.
