Why did they take her away? That's a good question! It's the writers idea of a resolution to this storyarc that has spanned across the last 3 seasons. I can understand the writers giving Horatio and Yelina some time away from each other. However, if she doesn't look likely to return for some considerable time (which is sadly what I expect, or even worse, we may not see her again at all) the writers have made a huge error of judgement in my opinion. So much has been left unresolved. As we've discussed before, it would make sense and show respect to her character if she was at least mentioned on the show eg. by Rick to H. Ann Donahue may have something up her sleeve, and I shall remain hopeful for now! ;)

Horatio's 'NY story' seems to have currently taken over I'm afraid. :(
