Wow I just saw this. Comedian Bernie Mac has died at the age of 50 :( He died this morning from complications from pneumonia. I just read in another paper this morning that he was recovering and expected to be released in the next couple of weeks.

oh wow, thats a real shock! the last i had heard his publicists released a statement that he was fine and his condition was being blown out of proportion by the media.

BEIJING - The murder of the father of a former Olympian at a Beijing landmark cast a sad shadow over the first full day of Olympic competition Saturday, just hours after China's jubilant opening of the Summer Games.

Todd and Barbara Bachman of Lakeville, Minn. — parents of 2004 volleyball Olympian Elisabeth "Wiz" Bachman and in-laws of U.S. men's volleyball coach Hugh McCutcheon — were attacked by a Chinese man while visiting the 13th-century Drum Tower.

The U.S. Olympic Committee confirmed Bachman died from knife wounds and that Barbara Bachman suffered life-threatening injuries. She and their Chinese tour guide, who was also injured in the attack, were being treated in a Beijing hospital.

Another great has passed away :( Soul singer Isaac Hayes has passed away at the age of 65.

Soul singer Isaac Hayes dies

According to the article family found him unconscious by a still running treadmill. Paramedics attempted to revive him and took him to hospital. He died shortly after 2pm.
 
:( That's sad about Bernie Mac and Isaac Hayes. It always seems like when one celebrity dies, another one dies soon after.

Whenever there is a celebrity death though, I can't help but think if there really are people that bet on their death date. (Darn it Death Pool 100!)

If there are, then those people are sick...:(
 
Dave Matthews Band sax player LeRoi Moore dies

LOS ANGELES (AP) - LeRoi Moore, saxophone player for the Dave Matthews Band, died Tuesday of injuries suffered in an accident on an all-terrain vehicle in June. He was 46.

Moore died at Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center in Los Angeles, the band said on its Web site.

He was initially hospitalized in late June after the accident on his farm outside Charlottesville, Va. He had recently returned to his Los Angeles home to begin physical rehabilitation when complications forced him back into the hospital July 17.

It was not immediately clear what the complications were. A message left with Hollywood Presbyterian was not immediately returned.

Ambrosia Healy, the band's publicist, says the group's show Tuesday night in Los Angeles has not been canceled.
 
'100 Things' co-author Dave Freeman dies in LA

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Dave Freeman, co-author of "100 Things to Do Before You Die," a travel guide and ode to odd adventures that inspired readers and imitators, died after hitting his head in a fall at his home. He was 47.

Freeman died Aug. 17 after the fall at his Venice home, his father, Roy Freeman, told the Los Angeles Times on Monday.

An advertising agency executive, Freeman co-wrote the 1999 book subtitled "Travel Events You Just Can't Miss" with Neil Teplica. It was based on the Web site whatsgoingon.com, which the pair ran together from 1996 to 2001.

Dr. Dre's 20-year-old son found dead in LA

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Dr. Dre's 20-year-old son has died, the rapper's publicist said Tuesday.

"Dr. Dre is mourning the loss of his son Andre Young Jr.," publicist Lori Earl said in a statement.

Young Jr., who was named after his father, was found dead Saturday by his mother at their home in suburban Woodland Hills, county coroner's Lt. John Kades said.

An autopsy was performed Monday, but the cause of death wasn't likely to be determined for eight weeks while toxicology tests are done, Kades said.

Australian Actor Mark Priestley was found dead at his home this morning.

ALL Saints actor Mark Priestley has died.

The much-loved actor, 32, who played nurse Dan Goldman, is believed to have killed himself while suffering depression.
It is understood he fell to his death from a building in Sydney's CBD yesterday afternoon.

Cast members of the hit Channel 7 medical drama are in mourning after the news was broken today.

"Mark Priestley was a tremendous young person – loved and respected by his fellow All Saints cast members and crew," Channel 7 said.
