The Random Facts Thread

Okay, thought this might be a nice idea for a fun thread where we can all learn something at the same time :)

Basically, I thought we could all contribute random and interesting facts about...well, anything, really. Whether they're about your country, favourite sport, animals, celebrities etc. All sorts of things - whatever you like (though please do keep in mind this is a PG 13 board - I don't think I need to expand on that point any further ;) ).

Okay, I'll start off with a few random ones:

Other than humans, pigs are the only animals that can get sunburn.

When you die your hair still grows for a couple of months.

Um, they made a statement to the contrary on CSI. Doc Robbins said that it's a common myth that hair grows after death, when in reality the skin contracts to reveal it. Maybe that only applies in certain situations though.

Ah, but they've never really been certain that a woman actually posed for the Mona Lisa... in fact many have felt that it was actually a self-portrait of the artist himself, sort of like the emailed picture of the "woman" in the CSI episode "A Little Murder".

Yeah, that one that is in debate, to be more specific:

John F Kennedy was related to Lisa Gheradini, the woman rumoured to have posed for the Mona Lisa
