My younger sister loved Clifford. I think she may still have some of her books sitting around, probably down in the basement somewhere (where everything seems to migrate to). I never really watched it. I was watching the shows for older kids at that point.

I think most of the shows I watched when I was younger (with the exception of Sesame Street) are put away in vaults somewhere, never to be seen again. Until they end up on DVD someday as almost every other show known to man.

That's what I was trying to figure out, what was my "Educational" show besides Sesame Street that I use to watch. But I can't remember, maybe that's because I'm getting old,. . .

Now where is my walking stick.

No, they never tied me to chairs or anything like that, but try going out on a date with 4 older brothers the oldest,26, then 20, then 18, then 15. Gosh, sometimes they are worse than my dad. One time, a guy made a joke about me in good hands...like good hands.... I thought my brothers were going to kill him.

I was never really a Clifford kind of gal, my childhood books were all Dr. Suess. The first book I ever read was "Green Eggs and Ham". A classic if you ask me.

I think my sisters might have watched that H.R. Pufntuf show. I had never heard of it, until a couple of years ago. *goes off in search for a Barbapapa picture*

I think that was the lone educational show I watched when I was younger. The rest of the shows were just a bit on the odd side. And my parents bring them up from time to time and tease me about them. But who let me watch them?

CONJUNCTION JUNCTION
Music & Lyrics: Bob Dorough
Sung by: Jack Sheldon
Animation: Phil Kimmelman and Associates
>> Conjunction Junction, what's your function?
Hooking up words and phrases and clauses.
>> Conjunction Junction, how's that function?
I got three favorite cars
That get most of my job done.
>> Conjunction Junction, what's their function?
I got "and", "but", and "or",
They'll get you pretty far.

"And":
That's an additive, like "this and that".
"But":
That's sort of the opposite,
"Not this *but* that".
And then there's "or":
O-R, when you have a choice like
"This or that".
"And", "but", and "or",
Get you pretty far.

>> Conjunction Junction, what's your function?
Hooking up two boxcars and making 'em run right.
Milk and honey, bread and butter, peas and rice.
>> Hey that's nice!
Dirty but happy, digging and scratching,
Losing your shoe and a button or two.
He's poor but honest, sad but true,
Boo-hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo!

>> Conjunction Junction, what's your function?
Hooking up two cars to one
When you say something like this choice:
"Either now or later"
Or no choice:
"Neither now nor ever"
>> Hey that's clever!
Eat this or that, grow thin or fat,
Never mind, I wouldn't do that,
I'm fat enough now!

>> Conjunction Junction, what's your function?
Hooking up phrases and clauses that balance, like:
Out of the frying pan and into the fire.
He cut loose the sandbags,
But the balloon wouldn't go any higher.
Let's go up to the mountains,
Or down to the sea.
You should always say "thank you",
Or at least say "please".

>> Conjunction Junction, what's your function?
Hooking up words and phrases and clauses
In complex sentences like:
("In the mornings, when I am usually wide awake,
I love to take a walk through the gardens and down by the lake,
Where I often see a duck and a drake,
And I wonder as I walk by
Just what they'd say if they could speak,
Although I know that's an absurd thought.")

>> Conjunction Junction, what's your function?
Hooking up cars and making 'em function.
>> Conjunction Junction, how's that function?
I like tying up words and phrases and clauses.
>> Conjunction Junction, watch that function.
I'm going to get you there if you're very careful.
>> Conjunction Junction, what's your function?
I'm going to get you there if you're very careful.
>> Conjunction Junction, what's your function?
I'm going to get you there if you're very careful.

Oh, God! That's :(. I feel for you. *giggle, giggle*

It's a sickness really, will you take care of me?

Actually, I found it on the interweb.

I'm trying to figure out more childhood "educational" shows that I watch and I remember slightly a series of short books about these fictious people but I can't think of anything other than they were a whole town of them and they all had different names like Mr. "something" and Mrs. "Something" and there names were what they were good at or something. I don't know maybe I should think harder.

In the U.S., there was a show on called "The Big, Comfy Couch". I don't know if any you know it, but there I learned how to tell time.

EDIT ... Sorry. Mind in the gutter.

Oh, you mean, Mr. Happy. Mr. Tickle, Mr. Trouble, Little Miss. Twins, tonnes more. I also liked the book about Harold and the magic crayon.

The girl who was on The Big Comfy Couch was a regular on Mr. Dressup. When I was home, sick. I would watch the show, and sometimes she'd be on it. Comfy Couch is Canadian. :)

DAMNIT LAURA,

GET OUT OF MY HEAD. I'm really starting to get annoyed that you just like to use that space up there as your own little apartment.
