That last part still has me laughing. It's amazing how the 't's turn into 'd's for certain words. 'The' is the worst though.

The New York accent can be hard to understand at times, and his really is the worst (on the show). I don't generally have a hard time understanding Aiden or Flack, but I miss words with Danny sometimes.

It's still my favorite accent though, always has been. And I think it's easier to understand Flack and Aiden because theirs are a little bit toned down and not as prominent as Danny's. Carmine uses his to full advantage and doesn't really try to hold back. I'm surprised that it's still like that after not living in NY for so long.

hm, i think i would like to see danny go to speach-therapy; just to see him pronounce words really slow and lingering on every vowel and pouting those sexy lips of his :D

Basically, it seems like we're happy as long as Danny is naked.

That's deep. That's art. We should pitch the idea. Danny, naked, for an hour. Think of the $$ they could save on the episode budget!

Alternately, if they needed budget cuts, they could just do away with Danny's wardrobe. He doesn't really need clothes.

i know i am kind of behind in replying to this post!

But i love the way your mind works!!!

Think how happy the locker room would be!!

^Aw, thanks Wiggles! :D All for one and one for all in the Locker Room! Put us all together and we'd have the Naked Danny show. Wouldn't that be nice?

I think Eddie and Vanessa's probably aren't authetic--I mean, I don't think either of them actually has a NY accent, or if they do, they're easily able to disguise it. I don't think Carmine can. Has anyone ever heard him talk without the accent? I ain't knocking it--his voice is sexy as hell, but I think his accent is probably the only authentic one and is pretty indiguisable.

I think it would be more than nice Top41 !!

But i think the locker room would go very quiet as we would all be speechless  !!!!

hee hee they should change the name of the show to The Naked Danny Show!

60 minutes of nothing but Naked Danny. Commercial free.

with of course Danny talking in that damn sexy New York accent of his. mmmmm

The Naked Danny show would, um, elicit quite an enthusiastic response from the Locker Room Groupies. I imagine our eyes would be glued to the TV and [CENSORED BY THE PG-13-O-METER].

Given that that was a triple X comment, I'm not surprised the Meter blasted me. ;)

I'm not sure about Shakespeare and a NY accent, but hey, if anyone could sell me on it, it would be Danny.

When I had to do all that sort of thing at school, I had to watch a Russian version of Hamlet and a Japenese version of Macbeth (amongst others) so if Shakespeare can survive that a NY accent should be no problem.

I've read in various articles that they are both from NY so they might be a bit confused that you don't think they have authentic accents.

Heh, I've heard of the Japanese MacBeth--it's pretty famous actually!

Maybe "inauthentic" isn't the right word--what I'm getting at is that both are capable of slipping in and out of the accent. IRL, I don't think either has a discernable NY accent. The same isn't true of Carmine.

Either he just doesn't try to talk without it or he can't. In all the movies he's been in, it's just as prominent as on CSI. This all reminds me of a story that I've neglected to share with all of you. In one my children's lit class last semester, we had to get in small groups and read a story to each other and we had a pile of notecards with different accents and whatnot on them. While we were reading, someone held up a different notecard with a different accent and you had to read the story with that accent. Well, my turn came around and I got New York accent. I could NOT channel my inner Danny to save my life. It was so disappointing...I even live in NY.

^Hey, that's a cool experiment! I love playing around with accents, but yeah, there are some that are just impossible. And I think some people are better with them than others. Vanessa did a pretty convincing accent in 24 when she was playing the girlfriend of a Mexican drug lord. Carmine's is soooo thick, though, I'd be surprised if he could disguise it. I'd love to hear him try, though.

 channeling your inner Danny! that is awesome. His accent is so thick and distinct that I wonder if he can change it. You would think that he has taken many? acting classes, especially with dialects.

I have a friend who is an aspiring actor in LA and he is from my home, a midwest boy, and on his resume he has the different dialects that he can copy. He also can do a mean Elmo! (from Sesame Street)

I can hear and see Eddie and Vanessa's accents easily, but I'm from NYC. I think the difference is where the actors grew up, Brooklyn, Westchester (not part of NYC), and Staten Island (factor in the proximity to the Jersey Shore). Either way Danny's accent is truly a beautiful thing.
