Taylor Swift

Well, I have not heard many of Taylor's songs. So I am not sure if I am the right person to comment. But I only like two of her songs so far, Love Story and Teardrops on my guitar. The others have been okay, but I like the lyrics the most. Not the songs in general.

Speaking of lip sync, it is something I really hate. I went to a concert once, and was able to see and hear the sound check before the concert. I found out that this 'artist' would play the tracks from the latest album and 'practice' the lip syncing. I don't think this person was sick or having any problems with the voice, but I am not sure. Either way, it made me lose all respect for the artist. I am not sure if Taylor lip syncs (as someone mentioned that), but I think she has done that sometime at least. As it seem to be very common.

When I pay for a ticket and go to a concert then I really want to see the artist or band perform well and actually sing and play their instruments. Especially as I didn't pay just to see them 'in real life' to play music from their album. I could have stayed at home instead.

Unless it's more of an intimate venue, I don't go to concerts. More often than not a concert is about the production more than the music. Lip syncing has been around since the days of American Bandstand. I suspect all performers have done it at some point, and there are indeed some who should do it more often, lol.
Taylor's appeal is the whole package: singer/songwriter/producer, fairly wholesome image, music for the younger generation, yet can be appreciated by adults. I think, all considered, she's a good model for her generation. Instead of comparing her to more adult performers, compare her to Miley Cyrus: no contest!
Two more points:
A lot of singer/songwriters have imperfect singing voices; it's part of their charm, IMO.
Has anyone else seen Fleetwood Mac (with Stevie Nicks) perform live? They always sound out of tune. lol

Here's a review of Taylor's newest album in the new Rolling Stone Magazine [with Lil-Wayne] on the cover. She got 3-1/2 stars out of 5~

Today Was A Fairy Tale
Fairy tales, princes, damsels in distress--yep, it's a Taylor Swift song. Her costume-drama vision of romance may get old some day. But for now, her tunes are so shapely that you hardly notice. Her latest, from the "Valentine's Day" soundtrack, is more or less a song-length hook, bolestered by muscular guitars and a big, arcing chorus. And Swift remains a great lyricist, filling the story with touching details, like when she sings. "You told me I was pretty when I looked like a mess"
