TalkCSI LPS #1: Challenge 7 - Texture - FINAL RESULTS UP!

Re: TalkCSI LPS #1: Challenge 4 - Glass

Ok, as some people are finding 4 days a bit too short time period to submit something, I'm going to extend the deadline for this challenge until 4 p.m. GMT Tuesday 6th February.

I will also make the deadlines for all future challenges longer too, so you will have around 5 and a half days to submit your entries, rather than 4.

I hope this is ok by all :) and I think BlueCurl is staying in the competition, now that I'm extending the deadlines.

Yes I am gonna try real hard to enter this one after all. I am gonna make some time in the next two days to make photo cauze I've got a nice idea though! I'm just hoping for it to go on a photo the way I want it to!

Gonna get up really early tomorrow to do some school work so I have the time! Hopefully no set backs!

Re: TalkCSI LPS #1: Challenge 4 - Glass

I've pm'ed mine now.

I found this theme really tough, and I took a load of photographs to get a half way decent one, still not happy with it though!

Good luck everyone. :)

Me too. I don't know how many pics I took and rejected before I finally found one I was halfway happy with.

As challenging as it was, I loved it. It was a great learning opportunity.

Re: TalkCSI LPS #1: Challenge 4 - Glass

ETA2: Just got a notice from my university that my photography course will start next monday. I have a few credits I can use for any course I want. Just for self-exploring and stuff... And we have an art department! I hope it is going to be usefull!

Re: TalkCSI LPS #1: Challenge 4 - Glass

Wow! Nice work everyone. There were some fantastic pictures in there.

My votes are as follows:

14 - Too much clutter on the left side of the image. The doorway in the background is distracting. Maybe turning your camera to the left and photographing from a sideways angle you could have gotten rid of this clutter.

5 - Too much blank space on the left side of the image and the tops of the glasses are cut off. By moving the composition more to the middle of the image, it would have been more eye pleasing.

12 - Good picture, but the bottom of the plate is cut off. By dropping the lens down you could have cut off some of the dead space at the top of the image and brought the bottom edge of the plate in.

Re: TalkCSI LPS #1: Challenge 4 - Glass

4 - My attention is drawn to the glass and cds in the background rather than the glass in hand.

10 - It's a tad blurry and too much background - I think a closer shot would've worked better.

6 - Seems a little too cluttered, too much in one shot.

Re: TalkCSI LPS #1: Challenge 4 - Glass

Great job, everyone! Really. It was a hard topic, and I think everyone did great with it. If it was this hard to choose this time around...

5 - the first glass appears to be slightly blurred. Also, I think taking the picture from a different angle would have been better

14 - I find the shadow from the glass to be distracting. It kind of makes it look like something big is coming around the corner of the door.

4 - The cd's in the background are distracting.

Re: TalkCSI LPS #1: Challenge 4 - Glass

14 - Too much space on the left, a slightly strange angle and there may be glare from the flash

5 - A lot of space around the glasses, and the first glass appears blurred

6 - Appears a little blurred and there is glare from the flash or lighting

Wow, sorry guys! This was a really difficult choice, all the pictures are fantastic! :)
