Sofia Milos Returns To 'CSI: Miami'

CSI Files

Captain
After getting written out of CSI: Miami a year ago, actress Sofia Milos will reprise her role as Yelina Salas for the 5th season of the show.

Miami writer Corey Miller corresponded with a couple of fans through e-mail over the issue. "We all love Sofia Milos, and are happy to see her return for season five," he said. "As to how many episodes, we do not know at this point. Yet, I can say we're hoping she'll sign on for the entire season."

Miller also took the opportunity to kill off a couple of rumors. "Her 'departure' never had anything to do with Miss Milos herself. We needed to change the relationship between Horatio and Yelina, and wanted to bring Ray Sr. back, and that was the idea that interested us most at the time - to reunite them."

This year there'll be another reunion, this time with the other Caine brother. According to CSI Files sources, Miami's 5th season premiere will see Horatio and Delko in Brazil, where they are trying to find the Mala Noche leader Antonio Riaz. Riaz, responsible for the death of Marisol Delko, is even more elusive in Brazil than he was in Miami, but this does not deter Horatio and Delko, who are determined to bring the man to justice.

While in the country, Horatio finds out his brother Raymond has been missing and his nephew, Ray Jr., now 14 years old, has joined the local enforcement to try and find him. Horatio joins this investigation as well, but neither Yelina nor Ray Jr. can provide substantial information regarding his brother's disappearance. Horatio is busy trying to juggle the two cases at once, and soon learns his nephew, who has matured beyond his years, will do anything imaginable to find his father alive.

Please note that the above plot details have not been confirmed by CBS, Alliance Atlantis or Bruckheimer Films, and until such time you should treat this information as you would any other rumour. The above information comes from early script drafts and the details of the episodes are liable to change before the episodes are shown.

Miami's 5th season premiere (which has yet to be named) is set to premiere late September. Head over to the Sofia Milos thread at the message boards to read the rest of Miller's message.

Give me bloody strength! Without so much as a by your leave to her, y'all unceremoniously tossed her out for all of S4 and now ya'll are "hoping" that she will "sign on for the "entire season (S5)"!? Newsflash, our dear Sofia has a new tv series and it's NOT CSI:Miami.

*shakes head at the senseless waste of an entire season looking for somethiing and finding less than nothing, when the "real Miami" had been there for all along...*

Sofia, if it's true, then welcome back for the S5 opener. It's very decent of you to have agreed to the guest appearance. Bravo for being the better person in this fiasco.

She's coming back, yes! Unless that means the show is continueing the soapy thing...otherwise: YES!

Finally some good spoilers, looks like an interesting opener. I'm vvery happy now that a few spoilers are coming out.

I'm really looking forward to this. I loved Yelina when she was on the show, and was very disappointed when she left. I'm also looking forward to seeing Ray Sr. again, if he shows up alive-- which I do hope happens. I love Dean Winters.

Well, exactly! Funny how we knew this would be the case all along. I'm delighted that Sofia is back, but agree with your post wholeheartedly Tally. Experimenting is one thing, but why dispense with Yelina completely (and the storyarc that is the foundation of CSIM Canon) for an entire season - especially in favour of the hugely disappointing Season 4? Such a crazy decision that did not work at all. Let's just hope Sofia's schedule allows for her involvement in CSIM for more than an occasional epsiode, and that the writers do this storyarc the justice it has always deserved. We're nowhere near any kind of resolution.

Great news, but you make excellent points Tally and Luce. Maybe, just maybe, TPTB have realised that things weren't so great in Season 4, and that's understating it! The show needs Yelina. I hope they do her character justice, and let's face it, H is far more likeable when she is on the show. His vulnerability around her is most endearing. I would love to see the return of H's family.

I am amused that Raymond is missing! I see that this particular leopard will never change his spots! ;)

The show needs A LOT of things/characters that they got rid of. Hopefully her return for a few episodes will save Miami for the time being, or at least put it in a better direction. And since she does have a new television show, it's doubtful she'll sign on for an entire season, but we'll see what happens. I'd love to see her on some new episodes. It will make all of us very happy. :)

As for this story-arc....Oy...I'm not sure it's really....New. I mean, we already 'lost' Ray for three seasons and now he's 'lost' again. Um...Yeah I'm pretty sure the writers have already done that. But hey I'm all for recycled storylines, as long as it doesn't beat the crap out of the show. And...Yeah okay I know it's slightly different than before, but come on. I don't want to have to see them trying to find Ray AGAIN. Oh well, it might be interesting. I just wish it wasn't in Brazil that this all has to happen.

I do kind of like what I said to Corey Miller once. "Hey you don't suppose you can build a time machine and bring back Speedle would you?" He cracked up at that one, but low and behold he had enough supplies to build one to bring Yelina back. :D :D YAY.

^ Good 'ol predictable Raymond! ;)

Someone needs to forcefeed a GPS device down his throat or hook him up with OnStar. Or maybe call Jack Malone and his gang to find Ray Sr.

^ Also, we all know that if and when Ray is found, it will not be his fault that he went missing! In that short scene in '10-7', Ray blamed everyone but himself for his predicament. He was almost petulant. I hope we get to see him again though.

csi_gurl, I'm sure that Ryan will feature strongly again this season. This is just the first spoiler, so others will follow over the next month or so I expect. :)
