Are you sure? Won't the college basketball tournament interfere?

If I remember correctly, CBS had two major sports overruns last spring - one during the second Sunday of March Madness that was a result of an overtime game and another for The Masters. There may have been a couple of others, but the schedule was delayed by only 5-10 minutes, not a half hour or more.

Isn't the basketball usually only on Thursdays?

No

The 64-team games are played on Thursday and Friday of the first week. The 32-team games are played on Saturday and Sunday of the first week. The Sweet 16 games are played on Thursday and Friday of the second week. The Elite 8 games are played on the Saturday and Sunday of the second week. The Final Four is played on Saturday and Monday of the third week.

They've been posted. Just got pay a little more attention... ;)

The episode opens on an on-location news report, where the MDPD Gang Task Force performed a raid on a suburban home. The home is a drug lab operated by the Mala Noche gang. Newly appointed State Attorney Jack Haywood is giving a press conference, and explains to the crowd of reporters that the raid they're conducting is practically a weekly occurrence. This raid happens to be the fourth Mala Noche bust within the past month (the first was a weapons stash, the second was a prostitution ring, the third being a distribution hub, and now a cook house). As Haywood acknowledges the people who have helped in the busts, a car drives by and begins ambushing the scene. Shots go off, the car swerves into officers, a full blown attack. Two MDPD officers are unfortunately killed, and Haywood also ends up being a casualty. The shooter, a Mala Noche gang member begins to share an important message with Horatio, but he fades away and dies.

I'll share a bit more later, but I do see Calleigh, Ryan, Eric, and Natalia mentioned. :)

The episode begins at a high school party. There's lots of drinking, guys with their 'Bieber' haircuts, girls dressed like they are Rhianna or Katy Perry. Samantha Bates' house, which is hosting the party, is completely trashed. This is a cool kids party, and those who weren't invited will do anything they can to get in--including Lauren Wells, who practically begs one of the girls at the party, Blaire, to let her in.

After the party is over, Blaire is completely drunk. She pukes her guts out and heads to her car, where a stalker carefully watches her. Blaire is so disorientated from the alcohol that she falls to the ground, prompting the stalker to go towards her.
Blaire wakes up on the high school football field, where she is tied to a goal post. She thinks it's a joke, but quickly finds out that it is not. Blaire is hit numerous times, and dies.

Tripp, Horatio, and Natalia arrive on scene and immediately begin processing. Horatio finds stones near the body, and determines that she was stoned to death.

It turns out that Blaire may not have been so popular after all. Blaire was a bully and a player. She'd slept with half of the football team, been called into the principal's office for her 'out-of-line' behavior, and as a result, was blackmailing her own principal.

That's pretty much the extent of the episode (from what I see). I don't see Calleigh mentioned, but I do see Ryan, Walter, Natalia, Eric, and Tripp. Just because I don't see Calleigh listed, doesn't mean she's not in the ep (but I wouldn't be surprised if she was on maternity leave during this time)

Okay, here's what I know:

~ Two women have been held captive in a foreclosed home. Bridgette and Lisa are trying to escape from the moldy mansion, and eventually manage to get untied and attempt to escape the property. Lisa eventually gets away but Bridgette is grabbed by her attacker once again and is killed.

~ The case is connected to the Oak Street serial killer. One of the reporters covering the case ends up missing after trying to talk to Lisa.

~ When discovering a key piece of evidence to the case, Natalia is approached by a man. He removes the gun from her holster, points it at her, and ties her up.

~ Everyone is mentioned in the episode, including Calleigh, Travers, and Loman.

Well, I have to say that Wheels Up was certainly not worth waiting for. Definitely my least favorite epi this season. The only part I liked was Eric punching the "dummy". I sure hope since we have to wait awhile for "Last Stand" that it is a much better episode.

I liked most of the episode"Wheels Up",in addition to Eric's part,Ryan and Walter's parts were enjoyable as well.Even the quick glimpse of Natalia,Ryan Walter, etc. enjoying the game at the end was good, more team moments are always a plus for me.I found the episode worth waiting for.

Media Life Magazine has an interesting take on why NCIS is reaching its highest viewership in its eighth season.

...“NCIS’s” endurance may be due to the fact that it was never one of those red-hot shows to begin with. It’s always put up decent numbers among total viewers and adults 18-49, even when it aired opposite “Idol” every spring. But its growth was steady, due in part to the ubiquitous reruns on USA and in part to the fact that its offbeat humor, mixed with grisly crime solving, makes it stand out from traditional procedurals. The characters are more fully drawn that those on other cop dramas, even if the crimes themselves are sometimes absurd.

If our show started focusing on the characters more, I am convinced the ratings would go up too. We really know very little about our characters, except Horatio and Eric. It's not like this hasn't been said a million times before, but hopefully the writers will wake up before it's too late.

From Spoiler tv, two things, one of them posted wrongly in the episode thread:

CBS president Nina Tassler has announced that the futures of CSI: Miami and CSI: NY are secure.

Both shows were recently moved to new slots, but Tassler told reporters at the TCA press tour that neither series is in danger of cancellation.

"Both are doing incredibly well in new time periods, given what was there before," she insisted. "As long as those shows continue to be competitive and as long as fans continue to watch those shows, they'll continue to stay on the air."

She also claimed that a renewed focus on character development has helped to keep the two shows fresh.

"Both shows have opened up more to reveal the more personal elements of [characters'] lives," she suggested. "Add in the Sela Ward character (Jo Danville) on CSI: NY this year and I think we certainly know from audiences and from research that people were interested in her personal life."

CSI: NY airs on Fridays at 9/8c on CBS, while CSI: Miami continues on Sundays at 10/9c.

Yay!

And the thing from today
CSI: Miami
Episode 9.17 is called "Special Delivery."

The producers are hunting for an actor to play Sean, an intern at a doll manufacturing plant. He is described as both bright but misguided. Rumour has it he's sickened by something...
Also on the list of characters needing an actor is Pete, who is apparently "shaken when led to believe his wife & son were messing around." Hmmmm....
The synopsis states that "a seemingly senseless killing of a delivery man and the grisly murder of a business woman become inextricably linked." But how?

Thanks for posting. ^^

Any idea who this Nicholas Chandler person is & why he's slated as recurring?

ETA: Nevermind. Apparently he played a prosecuting attorney in 'Rampage' & 'Backstabbers'......I still can't place him. *confused*

:p I looked him up, but thanks for replying. My memory must be a bit gone though 'cause I can't recall his part in either of those episodes.
