Season 9 Ratings Thread

Thanks for the reminder, Hardline Pro. I don't know how they can really get a reliable rating for this episode.

Even when they re-air it, those who were able to see it on Sunday night without interruption may not watch again.

I'm going to move on to the next episode and let this one go. :)

I don't get it, how can a show have reliable ratings if it gets interrupted, delayed, cancelled all the time. I mean if I was an advertiser i wouldn't like my advert to air during such a difficult time slot...is this not going to affect actors paychecks/show's income? I'm not sure you get what I mean, don't know how to explain it ;)

I undertand what you're saying. The advertisers that buy time to sell their product pay for the time based upon the viewership of any given show.

When the show is constantly being jerked around so that people don't get to see it when they expect to ... viewship goes down as viewers, especially casual viewers, give up and stop watching.

Less viewers means less people see what you're trying to sell. You would think that the advertiser would be more than a little put out by the reduced viewship.

And reduced viewers means that the advertiser pay less for time to advertise during that particular show.

I'm not really sure what criteria is used to determine the pay of the actors on a show, but you'd have to think the number of viewers would have to pay a large part in financial decisions all the way around. So, yeah. At some point salaries would have to be adjusted if the viewership continues to decline ... for whatever the reason.

Ratings wise, I'm going to move past G.O. and on to the next episode. I'm sure they have some way to determine what the ratings were. I'm also sure that it's way beyond my capability to understand! :guffaw:

Thanks for replying, Delynn :) I'm glad to know that my question made sense :) I guess we have to wait and see :)

Ok, I have a stupid question, but I've always wondered - how the 'demo' is being counted? And what does it really stand for? Anyone knows?

Two re-runs of CSI:Miami last night.
Manhunt brought 5.726 million viewers and a 0.7 in the demo and Happy Birthday brought 6.07 million viewers and a 1.0 in the 18/49 rating.

This may be naive of me, but how much do the ratings for re-runs matter? I mean, compared with the original showing? Surely a decline in viewer interest can only be seen there...
