Got any scoop on CSI? How will Nick rejoin the team after walking out last season? — Bobby
ADAM: Surprisingly, it will all start with Nick getting drunk! "Nick goes on a bit of a bender," George Eads teases. "He challenges a couple guys with pistols that he shouldn't, and he ends up in a bad spot." Fortunately, Sara comes to his rescue, which makes him re-evalute the importance of his team. "He's the kind of guy who doesn't run from a fight," Eads says. "He got frustrated and fed up, but I don't think he would ever leave his teammates in the middle of battle."

Episode 13x04 is entitled "It Was A Very Good Year". It involves a young woman found dead in the desert and is supposed to have personal ramifications for Greg.

13.05 will be called "Once Bitten" (I think it was originally going to be Episode 6?) and involves the death of a hated divorce attorney as well as the death of a police officer who leaves behind a dog as a witness.

Ausiello:

Question: Could you please provide some scoop on CSI? —Jane Ausiello: Well ring-a-ding-ding, Jane, I certainly can. Executive producer Don McGill tells us that an upcoming, Greg-centric episode will be heavily influenced by Ol’ Blue Eyes himself, Frank Sinatra. Called “It Was a Very Good Year,” the hour looks at a murder at a Rat Pack theater in Vegas, and it involves a cold case “that has now become a hot case with the murder of a journalist with whom Greg had a relationship,” McGill says. Expect to hear a lot of Sinatra standards in the ep, because the crooner’s estate “was really awesome in working with us,” he adds. “It’s just going to be a great music episode with some really cool, stylistic flashbacks to the ’60s and Vegas.”

Any new spoilers about CSI? — Heather
ADAM: It sounds like there are some ruff days ahead. An upcoming case will require the CSIs to solve the murder of a suspected dirty K-9 cop in which the dead guy's dog was the only witness. Can Rover actually lead the team to his handler's murderer and prove he wasn't on the take? Take that, Lassie!

CSI 13.05 "Once Bitten"

Director: Eagle Egilsson
Writer: Treena Hancock & Melissa R. Byer
Start Date: 8/30

Sergeant is a member of the Las Vegas K-9 unit; the chief trainer, he's an expert on police dogs and their handling. When another officer in his unit is murdered, and the evidence points to the dead man being a dirty cop, Sergeant vigorously defends the dead man's reputation. He assists the CSI team in using the dead cop's dog in the hunt for a killer.

Jen and Jackie are very cute, fun, girls out on Halloween and end up in a bad part of town, looking for a Halloween party -- when they run across an armed drug dealer and a freshly murdered body instead.

Carly is one of a group of hookers, brought in for a strange kind of line-up; her scent is identified by a murdered police officer's dog. Questioned closely by the detectives, Carly insists that she was Officer Lynch's informant, not his killer. But she is murdered before she can spill what she knows in a second interview.

Two low rent hookers, suspected of involvement in the murder of Officer Lynch, they're hauled into the line up room with five other prostitutes and asked to deposit their scent on a metal pipe.

Barry is a divorce lawyer with a reputation for slick dealing. A bachelor with an upscale house filled with art, Barry has a long history of seducing his clients' wives, and he's annoyed enough people with his confrontational manner that his home is the target of outraged graffiti artists -- and his chest is the target of a bullet.

Marjorie is a neighbor of Barry, a recently murdered divorce attorney, and she defends his easily-slandered reputation after he's shot to death. In fact, Marjorie had a little crush on Barry -- but when she tried to close the deal, Barry laughed in her face, mocked her excessive age.

Mrs. Walsh is a divorcee who cuts a private deal with her husband's attorney (hot sex in exchange for a slice of her husband's assets). But later, hoping to land Barry as her second husband, she's enraged to realize that he just regarded her as an idle hour's pastime.

Ms. Young is a hot and sexy divorcee with attitude, she's a neighbor of the murdered attorney, and is questioned by Finlay, because she overheard the three shots that killed him. She gossips cheerfully about Barry's bad reputation as a scumbag attorney.

Mr. Walsh is a blackjack dealer whose life has dealt him one sour hand after another, he's questioned by the detectives but insists he's innocent. He's a former client of the murdered divorce attorney, and he's convinced that Barry not only transferred his assets to his ex-wife, he also knows that Barry slept with his ex.

Question: Do you have any CSI scoop? —Sharp

Ausiello: Despite threatening to quit in the finale, Nick remains part of the team when the show returns on Sept. 26 — but just barely. “Emotionally, we will find Nick in a very dark place in the premiere,” previews exec producer Don McGill. “He really is in an existential crisis, where he is wondering what the purpose of his mission as a CSI really is and whether it’s worth all the pain, suffering and hours [considering] the bad guys sometimes do get away despite your best efforts. We will be carrying that thematically throughout the season. He will be struggling with his conscience in a way.”

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation Episode 13.06 "Pick And Roll"

STORY LINE: The Coach of the West Las Vegas University basketball team is a difficult, imperious, petty tyrant with a complicated personal life -- and when he's found bludgeoned to death in his locker room, Detective Russell's son Charlie is the prime suspect.

In 13.06 "Pick And Roll" we meet Vanessa. She is the girlfriend of Charlie Russell Detective Russell's son -- and she meets Charlie's dad while she's wearing nothing but a t-shirt. Embarrassed beyond belief to have basically been caught in Charlie's bed. After she's revealed to be employed as a local dominatrix with strong professional ties to the recently murdered Coach, Vanessa finds herself to be remarkably unpopular as a potential daughter-in-law.

TVLine said:
A re-opened cold case from Finlay's past in Seattle will reignite her over-zealousness – and introduce someone close to her. “[She] will be taking a lead and getting herself in trouble not just with the authorities, but also her ex-husband, whom we'll discover is a cop in Seattle,” reveals McGill.

COMING UP NEXT | Executive producer Don McGill describes the season opener as Cape Fear-like, with the normally zen Russell “pushed right to the edge” by recent events. “By the end of the teaser, you will see something we never thought we'd see, and that is D.B. Russell ripping his crime novels off the shelf to reveal a safe in the wall,” previews the EP. “He'll open it up and pull a gun out.” Meanwhile, Nick is MIA and possibly hurt – “When we first see him in the episode, the audience will think… we may be seeing the last of Nick Stokes,” teases McGill – and Finlay is onto Detective Crenshaw's bad intentions. “Finlay's not so naïve,” the EP assures us. “She figures out that she's in the arms of the enemy. But what she'll do with that knowledge is the interesting part of the premiere.”

CSI
RETURNING DRAMA 10-11P.M., CBS

"This is one of the first years in a long time that we haven't been saying goodbye or hello to someone," says exec producer Carol Mendelsohn, referring to the near-revolving door that's seen Elisabeth Shue replace Marg Helgenberger and Ted Danson take over for Laurence Fishburne. "We have our team and cast intact. Creatively it's very exciting to now craft great stories and not worry about having to say goodbye midseason to someone!" Among the planned plots for season 13: Former undersheriff McKeen (Conor O'Farrell) will rue the day he invaded D.B. Russell's (Danson) home; Morgan (Elisabeth Harnois) will finally make peace with her father; and Nick's (George Eads) decision to declare, "I'm out" in front of Sara (Jorja Fox) and Greg (Eric Szmanda) will have a ripple effect on the team. In addition, "Hodges [Wallace Langham] last season was speaking Italian and talking about a trip to Italy," says Mendelsohn. "We'll find out about that." SEPT. 26
