Season 11 "Spoiler Lab" Discussion Part 4

I hate to say it, but I think it's just what the show has turned into after so many years. It's not as novel as it was when it first came on, and the original team has been broken apart, and I guess after so many years for some people the only draw of it now is their favorite character. At least that's what I think.

I kind of feel that way too. From seasons 1-5 I can watch just about any episode and be happy and love it, even if Nick isn't in it much. But these days I'll admit he's the main reason I watch. I don't think the show itself is what it used to be, at least not to me.
I agree with you on that, Smokey. It's really been the last four or so years where I really more so do watch more so for character more than the whole show. I think it is because it's not the same team anymore and I just don't find everyone as amusing anymore as I use to.

CSI Exclusive! Chris Barbour Talks Grissom's Return, Catherine's Future, and More!

<snippet>

Saunders: There’s been some interesting discussion on the Internet that Ray’s ex-wife Gloria (Tracee Ellis Ross) could somehow end up in the Langston/Haskell showdown. Care to comment on that?
Barbour: I would say that that is a possibility. (laughs) We’re exploring the possibility of what would Haskell do to antagonize Langston.
Enjoy!

Nice job, Shane! :) Now...tell us...off the record...did you ask why the HELL they think we want more Ray and Haskell??! ;)

Believe it or not everything we talked about ended up in the published interview. He confirms that there will be 22 episodes, which I used as part of my question. But the whole conversation made it into the piece.

(Side note: Chris is a really awesome guy. He's great!)

Then I admire your restraint and your professionalism. :)

Now...lemme at him!

Loved the interview, Shane! Nice job

Thank you... I appreciate it. :)

As for 11.21, here's some more details. ;)

The team moves to L.A. under the watchful but respectful eye of LAPD DETECTIVE SOSA, as Nate Haskell turns his murderous sights on Langston's ex-wife and her fiance.

Ugh...I am so freakin' sick and tired of the Haskell character and do not want to watch another Haskell related episode. These writers must have some serious writers block if all they can think to write are more Haskell episodes..

Great interview Shane, you managed to cover a wide breadth of stuff. The fact that they're still umming and ahhing about Cath's exit kind of explains all the Cath/vartann stuff, obviously they're thinking he might not fit into how Cath will exit.

Do we know why there are only 22 episodes this season? Doesn't seem like enough space to fit in Cath, Sqweegel, Sophia, Lady Heather, Grissom, and not fogetting Haskell of course.

It's a shame Haskell is going after Ray's ex-wife purely because i didn't watch their scenes so have no idea who she or her husband are!

Who is Sosa??

Geeeee...going after Ray's ex-wife. How original. I mean, we all called it as soon as we knew she was going to be on the show! What other reason would there be for that?

:( 22 episodes that's it!?!?! :wtf::eek::( oh c'mon, why can't we have 23, we're getting less and less episodes each year it feels, are they going to start contract negotiations early or something

There's only 5 episodes left and so far I'm only looking forward to 18 with them making betting pools and 19 with Heather, everything else is Haskell and Ray, we need to come up with a nickname for those 2...Hay, Raskell

And Haskell going after the ex and her new husband *gasps*:eek::eek::eek: Shocking=not  I called it about a month or so ago

I'm hoping "Hitting the cycle" is a comedic type episode. We really have not had a really good one this season. I think "Wild Life" was the closest to one. I'll be bummed if we don't get one after such a great one last season.

Thank you all for such nice notes. I had a great time talking to Chris.

All three CSI shows are doing 22 episodes this season. I'm not 100% sure why there's only 22, but I assume it has something to do with a budget.

Great intereview, Shane! I particularly enjoyed the question referring to the Haskel/Ray/Gloria bit as possibly being like Se7en.

And yeah, your questions were rather diplomatic. Kudos for not asking things I'm sure you really wanted to ask.
