NO, NO, AND NO. DON'T DO IT, MARG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I mean...uh...that's.......interesting. *goes off to grumble*

I agree....probably for different reasons...but I agree. :)

I just think if an actor wants to leave, then let them leave. Wrap up the character's story and let them go. What point is there in getting someone back part time, now and then, whenever it's convenient for them if their heart isn't in it anymore?
I agree, Smokey. It just seems like Marg wants to go but they won't let her at this point and that's kind of sad. If she wants to go then let her go. I love Catherine's character but it seems kind of like she's finished. There's no Lindsey anymore(unless Lindsey didn't go to college and is deciding on taking up an internship with the local strip club...that would be interesting:guffaw:) and Sam's gone. What else can Catherine do? TPTB needs to just let Marg go and do Dancing With The Stars.

About Langston being married though...I still don't believe it. He just seems like a bachelor kind of guy to me. He's always working and his house in season 10 just screamed "I live alone."

A "Later this season, we finally meet Langston's wife, executive producer Carol Mendelsohn tells TV Guide Magazine. And she doesn't wear a ring. That's where the mystery begins"

No ring? I believe that's called either estrangement, separation or divorce. Mystery solved!

And they would have gotten away with it too, if it weren't for you meddling Praetor

Even if I weren't anti-Ray, I really don't see why they need to bring his wife onto the show. Any on-screen relationships are between the main/recurring characters, and the rest (SuperDave and Robbins) are off-screen with a mention here and there. Unless she's somehow involved in a future case I'd have been happy with him just mentioning her a couple of times then dropping it. :borg:

And any speculation on my end is going into a negative place. While Ray is growing on me, the idea of a wife coming in with a 'mystery' makes me cringe.
Amen! I still rather see more of the personal lives of Nick, Greg, and even Hodges than Ray.

Double amen! Nick and Greg have been on the show nine years longer than Ray, and yet we haven't had anything close to a gf since back in Season 1 (and I'm STILL waiting to get even a tiny glimpse of Greg's apartment...)

Totally agree Smokey. I thought it was irritating enough with Sara going back and forth, I really don't want Cath/Marg to do it as well. Even though she's one of my faves I'd rather she say that she's definitely staying, or just go.

Although I guess I really shouldn't be complaining...if Marg does come back for Season 12 at least it'll keep the estrogen level on the show from disappearing completely

Yay! There's still a chance of her staying! :) She deserves a great story line.

I'd be happy if she came even if it was part-time..:)

I would have to agree. If it were on a part time bases, at least then Marg would have more freedom to do other projects if she wished and yet the show wouldn't suffer either. It would be like a win win situation for all parties involved.

This sounds great! Maybe as a consultant or a friend, she can appear in at least one episode next season. Not totally closing the doors like William/Grissom did. Of course, it would be awesome if she stays full-time!

In the meantime, TPTB should start right now introducing a possible replacement for her in the future. Det. Reed is good but I think it's too quick if she steps in front next season. Give her (or whoever is the replacement) more time to work with the team.

I'm not watching DWTS but I will if she does it!

On "why" are they bringing in Dr. Ray's wife again cause' he's the NEW LEAD on CSI, and we've seen him with his wedding band so it makes perfect sense that at long last we get to see her. And as our moderator Smokey named his thread "a man of mystery" as he is. We pretty much know everthing there is to know about the older cast members, but we don't know his mysterious background, his personal life and his issues with his dad, they've showed bits and pieces of that, but it still remains a mystery. And the other cast members are NOT married, he is, so it's time for them to reveal that part of him. I think it will be scintillating, intriguing and revealing to see who she is and where she's been. On Marg leaving, that's her choice, but other cast members have returned so one never knows.~

I totally agree, if Marg wants to leave then just let her leave, and make it a clean goodbye. If she does want to stay just part-time/casual though, maybe they could do something like have Catherine finally get the day-shift supervisor position, and she can be a recurring character, like Ecklie was (but a nicer person :)), just appearing in a few episodes here and there (cases like the flight attendants in Compulsion, where there's overlap between the teams).

About Ray's wife - I really hope there's a good reason for seeing here, beyond just "ooh, here's more 'mysterious' storyline for Ray." Much as I like the characters to be well developed and have personalities, I'd rather that part take a back-seat to the actual crime-solving part of the show. Also, her lack of ring could be as simple as she works with chemicals or something - my dad is a pharmacist/researcher, and that's one of the reasons he doesn't wear a wedding ring.

I would too, Geeno! I'm hoping Marg will take the hint from the forums and grabs some dancing shoes.

Hmm...I don't know if a replacement next season would be the best idea, Geeno. Some fans are still trying to get used to Langston being on the show and adding new blood now would just take away from Langston's...finding himself as a character on the show. But if Marg does leave completely like Billy did then it's going to be vital that TPTB finds some new blood of the woman variety because as much as I like Nick and Greg I need at least two women to identify with on CSI every week.

If Marg wants to leave let her leave. If she wants to come back part time how about making her Lab Director (I think that's the next step after supervisor) so Ecklie can concentrate on just being Undersheriff. :)

I'd love to see Kathryn Morris from the now defunct show "Cold Case", or Poppy Montgomery from the also now gone show "WOAT" both smart, beautiful and perfect crime solvers. We got Enrique Mariciano from 2nd show mentioned, on [CSI] so I think maybe they could at least see what their up to now and bring them on. This new girl [Reed] just doesn't measure up as far as I'm concerned:confused:

I'd actually like to see Poppy Montgomery on CSI...nice idea, Desertwind. I really did like her in Without a Trace and she's done her share of cop shows so she would know what to do with the character that the writers would come up with. I hadn't even thought about Poppy Montgomery to take Marg's spot.:)

Oh my gosh! Back in 2009's Sep issue of TV Guide Marg said she would do DWTS! Perfect! I'd only watch it for her :)

Anyhow...like everyone else I'll dread seeing her go but it's her decision. Let her go in peace. Just make sure she has a proper farewell because our lady deserves it!

Doesn't DWTS run for 3 freaking hours a week?  I'm not sure I can handle that! I'll just watch it online so that I can only watch Marg's performance and to see if she survives or not.

But we might not have a choice. If Marg decides to stay, it might not be for a long time. If TPTB wants a new female lead then, we should be used to her as early as possible so that she won't end up like Ray. Ray is a great character but he was right in front so quickly that might make the fans hesitant to connect with him. Let's just say, do her introduction slowy but surely.

Didn't Marg say that the reason she came back for this season was that the divorce from Alan R cost her more than she expected? She is already over CSI. Do her performances seem like she doesn't have her heart in them?
It doesn't matter to a professional. Acting is a job.
Maybe she feels that if things were a little more to her liking on the show, putting a few more millions in the bank wouldn't be such a grim slog.

I personally hope Catherine is written out of the show in a way that allows her to occasionally resurface (like maybe as the boss of a casino empire or maybe moving on to academia like Grissom, or maybe even replacing Ecklie as lab director.)

I don't think still having her as the boss while only appearing part-time would really work.

My personal preference to replace her as the female lead would be Jeri Ryan. She's in her early forties, and satisfies my need for eye candy combined with the gravitas needed in a leading lady (she impressed me with Boston Public and Shark) and her stint on Star Trek proves she can handle the science and techobabble.

Jorja Fox's only seems willing to be a part-timer at this point, so while I don't doubt her ability to become the female lead, I doubt that she's willing at this point. If they were to add another female CSI, my pick would be Stephanie Jacobson...loved her in Terminator.

Not sure who the new boss would be, but my hunch is that Nick will be bypassed in favor of an outside hire.

I like the idea of Cath as lab director. I think it would suit her well. But I also hope that when they write her out they have her marry or move in with Vartann. :D Maybe he could still appear on the show every now and then and someone can ask how Cath is or something.

I like Jeri Ryan. Personally though, I'd much rather she come back to "Leverage" full time. But, I wouldn't object to her being on CSI. I don't know if I could see her as the boss though, but definitely as a CSI.

I have no idea who this is. Do you mean one of the newer Terminator movies or do you mean The Sarah Connor Chronicles tv show?

Not sure who the new boss would be, but my hunch is that Nick will be bypassed in favor of an outside hire.

Or Nick will decide he's comfortable just being the assistant supervisor. But anyway, my pick would be Lauren Holly. I can see the cast pics in my head and she would really fit in well I think. And she was the boss on NCIS at one time. :) Another choice of mine would be Samantha Ferris (Ellen from Supernatural).

I know everyone is talking about who they would like to see as a new female character but what if TPTB decided on not adding anyone next season to fill Marg's spot? I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't. It seems kind of like TPTB will have to make a choice between giving other characters the plotlines they've been waiting for or adding a new female lead to the mix. You just can't have both I guess.:(
