Season 10 Ratings Thread

I find it difficult to react to these ratings in isolation. Feel I need to know more. Like, how delays affect other programs, how Sunday ratings in general differ from other nights, how other long-running shows (eg Law & Order) fare, how long-runners compare to new shows. I'm reasonably convinced that, except in extreme cases, the bald figures will not guarantee (or condemn) a show's future. Would anyone who knows more about it (that's nearly everyone!) care to comment?

I don't know much more than you, Daisymay, but I do Google searches to see what I can find and today I found some one releasing statistics for all the performing CBS shows as of Nov 20,2011. Maybe someone who knows more can look for it and see if it is a good source.

Basically, CSI Miami is the second worst doing scripted show with only A Gifted Man, which everyone is saying will be dropped for the second half. Maybe yes maybe no. Doing worse then them.

CSI Miami was their lowest scripted show that turned up in any category of this listing and when they listed their shows in relation to others of their shows and shows from the other networks. CSI NY was #28, The Good Wife was #29, CSI was #24, Unforgetable was #21, and Person of Interest was #19. CSI Miami didn't make the list at all which means it was below #30, at least.

I would love someone who really understands all this to give some perspective, but to my inexperienced eye, it doesn't look good and all those US based fans who are watching on the internet should make the effect to watch live from now on, before things get worse.

I am not being negative or a pessimist, I just love the show and want it to continue. I do all I can and hope others will take the possible situation seriously enough to fight for our show.

Just a reminder...

CSI: Miami will not air on November 27th, because CBS is airing two repeats of A Person of Interest. I wonder what kind of ratings they will get in The Good Wife & Miami's timeslot.

CBS is spinning the numbers pretty well too. In viewership, we were #12 for the week, which is really good.

CSI: MIAMIwas second in households (6.8/11), viewers (10.43m), adults 25-54 (2.9/07) and adults 18-49 (2.1/05). Compared to the last first-run episode (on Nov. 20), CSI: MIAMIwas up +10% in households (from 6.2/11), +12% in adults 25-54 (from 2.6/07), +11% in adults 18-49 (from 1.9/05) and added +870,000 viewers (from 9.56m, +9%). CSI: MIAMIposted its best households ratings and largest audience since Oct. 16, 2011.

Yeah, TV By the Numbers said that TGW got 2.2 and 11. million while CSI Miami got 2.1 and 10 million.

Example of strange things for TVBy The Numbers from last year.
Then again, when they do these corrected numbers they sometimes go off to never never land. Last year once they said something like the 10:00 PM 2 show time had 2.2 and the 10:30 CSIM time had 2.3 so CSI Miami only got a 2.1. How they came up with that I will never know!!!
