Season 10 Ratings Thread

Yeah, Finch--you're a grumblepuss today. What's with that?

Anyhoo--sweeps month can bring out the best or worse in a series: stunt casting, crazy storylines, etc. Let's see if Miami can live up to the hype.

NY had four seasons with more than 22 episodes and would have had five if not for the writer's strike.
As for them cutting back episodes due to $$$, we'll have to see how it shakes out. I do know CSI Miami will be a lot easier to watch now that there's no football after two more weeks.

Don't count on great things in February. Actually we would like to miss the weeks that we will probably get.

It may be sweeps month, but it is also extravaganza month.

Feb. 5, == Superbowl not on CBS and last year was a train wreck to our numbers:scream:

Feb. 12 == the Grammys and if last year is to be judged by, CBS will put a show on that they want to promote, not Miami. Just like last year.:scream:

Feb. 19 == nothing doing.

Feb. 26 == The Oscars, last year we again got creamed when put against them. :scream:

Then, once that is over we have Basketball and golf to worry about. No it never gets truly better for Sunday night 10:00PM

All we can do is keep watching on TV and hope our loyalty will help our show.

If I remember correctly, the Grammy Awards are a 3-hour affair, so nothing will be on that night except...music. ;)

I guess sweeps doesn't really matter if other programming is on except Miami. More reason to watch the repeats on A&E and AMC. :)

CSIM did very well last Sunday. Even though it was a repeat, it performed better in the demo and viewership than the repeat of Good Wife and also the two new episodes of Pan Am and Prime Suspect!

Well, Prime Suspect has already been canceled (last I heard anyway). NBC is just airing the last remaining purchased episodes of it... so a lot of viewers may have figured what's the point in watching it since its canceled.

The final numbers were adjusted up to 2.3/10.6 and we beat The Good Wife in the demo! Also, for the week, we were #15!

I don't why that Sunday Nights are used for these special shows, like the Grammy's, but it messes up the flow of the show. It may be best to move CSI Miami to Saturday Nights. I'll say this again, I am a older gent in my upper 40's, not in my 20's, so I'm not out partying. I may go out to eat, but I usually get back home before Prime Time TV Starts. I'm glad that this show beat the Good Wife. Will Gardner is now going to have to take a 6 month leave, which that will hurt that show. Seems like that show is more about him.

I think they need to eliminate one show from the lineup or just keep them all reality shows. Too many disruptions on Sunday nights!

You got that right, all just to make a buck! I understand the sports stuff during Sunday Afternoon, but Suvivor, The Amazing Race, Undercover Boss should all be on Sunday Night. Move CSI Miami to Saturday Night. The younger generation does not agree, but this late 40's year old man does not go out and party-hardy on Saturday Nights.

If they would show it a 10 PM Eastern, 9 PM Central, that would be great for me. Put Miami and NY back to back.

I like your idea, jimi. Both NCIS's air back-to-back on Tuesday nights. If CBS would drop the comedy lineup, which I know they won't do, they could air Hawaii Five-0 at 8/7, then New York at 9/8, with Miami at 10/9. That would be my dream lineup on Monday night.

The Comedy Line up on Monday Night before Hawaii Five-O has been in place now for a little over 20 years. My guess is that it is working for them, so they will probably leave Monday Nights alone.

My idea is to take Saturday Night, when all they show is reruns of NCIS, Hawaii Five-O, CSI Miami, etc, and move both NY and Miami to Saturday Nights. It just makes sense.

Like I said, the younger generation might not like it, but us older folks from 35 up, do not go out clubing, parties, etc. I get into the restaurants before the Saturday Night crowds hit, so I think it would be in the best interest of CBS to move NY and Miami to Saturday Nights.

That would boost Saturday Night TV ratings. It just makes sense, but I feel like I'm preaching to the chior and not telling them this.
