He does seem like so much fun to work with! Everyone always says how funny he is. Sigh, it would be so cool to actually have a conversation with him. Well, I can dream, anyway.....

Oh my... We all can only dream.. Well I can only dream and I do it a lot. Just don't remember what we were talking in my dream... Not even what language
I'm always looking for friends like Jon. And I can say that I've found them. My friends are all funny and cool (not those pretending to be my friends)...
Sometimes I think I'm bit like Jon :guffaw:
Yeah well, at least falling off chairs and stuff... :D

Oh darn there won't be Miami tonight *throws remote at wall*
They call this week "Latvian Week" and shows darn old film
All b/c the other channel airs New Wave (Russian concert/competition show which actually happens in my country, city Jurmala)... Not a patriot, absolutely not

Oh well at least I have plenty of Jon to stare at and  :guffaw:

They call this week "Latvian Week" and shows darn old film

HAHA! That made me laugh lol......

Anyway, as I'm slowly making my way through season 8 I've noticed that Ryan is kind of...cynical...? He keeps jumping to conclusions and kind of snapping/being rude to people. How do you guys interpret this? Do you think it's emotional fallout from WISC? I'd like to think it is, just because I've always seen Ryan as a good guy, with the occasional spat with Eric.

Also, I saw the trailer for Identical......................... :wtf: um.

I guess I will always just view him as Ryan Wolfe, CSI. hahahahahahaha.....because that totally tripped me out! Especially the fact he's playing two of him.......

I also read the "about" section and the little excerpt from the book it's based off. Way. Too. Much. bleh

But I mean...................all the luck to the film......

Also, there are pics on that site. Shirtless pics. :guffaw:

I know how badly everyone wants them....since Adam gets shirtless scenes every season and Eddie got one his first five minutes! :shifty:

There was this WHOLE discussion about his attitude problem he apparently developed, and we eventually blamed it on one particular writer feeling the desire to CONSTANTLY write Ryan OOC. It was totally unnecessary (though, we, too, theorized it was due to WISC... but did they ever confirm that?! Well, you'll see...)

You really need to read the book "Memoirs of a Murder" to understand the trailer, lol. (I personally thought it was brilliant no matter the risque pieces). I doubt the movie will be anything great in comparison (movies hardly are, though the director IS the writer). But, yeah... read the book if you can.

Actually I kinda couldn't believe his attitude change was due to WISC. Well it was my kinda disbelief bc the episodes right after WISC didn't show any of that behaviour.
But I'm not specialist in this.
I probably try to pay more attention when the episode comes (if the series returns next week).
I'm tended to forget the whole world when Jon's on screen

Actually I'm willing to find somewhere over the web the book. I really wanna read it, and for that one I wouldn't start to imagine how the characters look alike :D

(For the current book I'm reading I had to "borrow" few known faces  )

Anyways I'm hoping to get the s9 and watch it more closely (trying to really watch it instead of staring at Ryan)

I just wonder how Ryan was affected by Jesse's death... It wasn't like shown off in any visible way (at least not for me).

Yesah, we are long overdue a topless scene, although I can live without one if they give him a decent storyline :)
Im the same, only see Jon as Ryan. And the movie isnt really my type of thing, but good luck to him and the film.

Yes, he was totally out of character for the first part of season 8. He was pretty traumatized in WISC, poor thing, and never really dealt with that so it would be completely understandable that there were some ill-effects.

Hmmmm....post-traumatic-stress? I never considered it, though I came to my own conclusion.

Jesse appeal.

I always noticed how they made Ryan act kinda foolish and dress to cover-up while Eric was always dressy and the hero. It added to Eric's appeal as the shows "hot-body".

Then, as Eric began to disappear due to the EC storyline, Ryan's wardrobe changed and he was suddenly not coming to the wrong conclusions in cases or being shown up by others. As the single, attractive male CSI, TPTB began to flaunt him about (in a good way):drool::drool:

Then Jesse came.....:shifty:

No disrespect to Jesse fans, or Jesse himself, but he arrives, shirt flies off and every episode he's correct, smarter than everyone and wearing tight-tees where's Ryan began to disappear behind the sweater vest and become snappy? :shifty: It wasn't Jesse/Eddie's fault, it was TPTB.

Then, Jesse goes, and Season 9 was all about Ryan and his tight-tees (which I LOVE :drool::drool:) but then again his character improves. Miami is the "sexiest" of the CSI's and when it suits them, TPTB use the sex-appeal of their cast (or in Ryan's case, hide it :shifty:)

.....Sorry for the rant, I've had that theory floating around my head for sometime and it seemed relevent to share it now

That does make sense though.....I have noticed that Jesse knows EVERYTHING and apparently Walter does too.... and esp in Point of Impact (which someone advised me not to watch) Ryan does something stupid in every scene he's in.....It was annoying.

They've always portrayed Ryan to pay super close attention to detail..... It was so out of character for him to assume that car crash was just random without looking at the skid marks, and then saying, "Can we go eat now?"

I just feel bad for Togo sometimes because he plays intense scenes SO WELL, but the writers have given him a character that isn't very consistent and has no background.

I do think, however, that Togo probably has made up his own story for Ryan. It's a thing many actors do.....I did it when I was in plays and such.

I feel like this is why we all have that sense that Ryan has a secret/complicated past/life. If you notice Togo playing different characters, the expression in his eyes is different from Ryan Wolfe. (Yes, I always kind of think of Ryan whenever I watch anything with Togo in it, but that's because I have watched too much Miami lol...)

Anyway, I just think his acting translates well to the audience as there being more than just what's on the surface. And that is an AMAZING talent to have. Kudos to him!

I just hope they bring that hidden intensity/secretiveness to light soon. It's so intriguing.

Speaking of intensity, that part in the Identical trailer where he screams, "I LOVE YOOOOUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!!!" hahahahahahahahaha......I tried to imagine a situation where Ryan Wolfe would say it like that. I couldn't....ha! But hey, like I said, he plays that intensity amazingly.

^^

Very good points Hollyyo.I disliked "Point of Impact" with a passion.I still haven't forgiven the writer (Krystal Houghton) for that one.

Definitely agree here. We have often said here that Jon conveys a lot of emotions with his eyes just with his portrayal of Ryan, and you can see it with other characters of Jonathan's as well.

That "hidden" intensity is why fans are waiting for something more.We know there is something just below the surface and that something can be really great.

Mel and Hollyyo you both have the same thoughts that recently, during this s7 rerun, raised again. Since I'm watching the season for about third time I'll try to pay bit more attention around Ryan, not just staring at him blank-minded.
And if they manage to get till WISC I'll try to take a double look at the episodes after, and hopefully s8 again. This theory about him having smth like post-traumatic-stress-smth got me pretty curious. Actually I expected smth from the events arise in MMIH (and for a bit in SIM) but then again its TPTB and they do all what they like.

But still the idea itself will be sitting in my head now until I see it in the episodes.
I kinda even liked if there'd be some intense/secret storyline beneath all this. (and now I defo know who's gonna be that guy running through woods in my newest fic)
I remember Ryan having some moments after Nailed (like freezing in Driven, if I get that right, only epi I've not seen in the whole season 4).

And speaking of Jon's talent, well I'm totally stunned/taken over. In my eyes he's the most talented actor my eyes've ever seen and I'm happy I born at the right time to see it (well almost).
I desperately wait the moment I'll get this precious chance to see Identical (even book would be fine). I'm totally sure that it'll become my all time fav movie I need on dvd. I could even try to find the book. Only if I knew the prices on Amazon for shipping abroad/overseas...

Here is a link to Graboid video service where they say you can view Jon's movie for free on line. It requires you to download the media player for a free trial of movies. After that pay a monthly fee. This is a legitimate service; however, I can't seem to run Jon's movie on the free service, although they claim it is free. Will have to check on it and get back with you.

^ Thanks, Theresa. Let us know what you find.

I think the theory about Ryan looking bad to make Jesse look good is, unfortunately, one that seems true. Whatever the reason, I didnt liek what they did then. It just made Ryan look foolish. Im glad that phase is over, hopefully never to return again.
Jon does do the intense scenes so well. Why cant tptb see that, and give him more to work with. I agree, it is a testament to his acting that we all see so much more to the character than has been written for him. There is so much potential there.

^ Thanks Thesesa!
I'm so tempted to check out the links but unfortunately the library's closed (it's almost midnight).

Agree Solitaire. And I feel I should start an cyber attack to CBS

Jon's always bringing so much to the role and I always find myself stunned by his priceless expressions.
If I choose my career as an actress I'd take him as my idol.

Unfortunately, Graboid took up all my computer memory so had to delete the free trial offer. It could be that Jon's movie will be loaded in the next day or two, but the program drags your computer down by uploading movies constantly. The good news is that the release date of the DVD is getting closer if sites are starting to advertise it. I am just going to wait for the DVD and not try to view on-line anymore.

^^
Thanks for the info Theresa. I think I'll wait for the DVD as well.
I'm still wondering if Jon made it to the LA premiere. I would love some new updated photos of him.
