Thanks FFF for the caps; amazing as usual. It was such a pleasure to wade through all of those. It has been awhile since we had that many. What to do? So many to drool over.

Send up a signal when you want the Wolfe Pack to dig you out. Stay warm and safe.

I'm so glad you all enjoyed them! It was great to have so many again. I made several sig banners from this episode and you can find them in the fan art thread under sig banners (makes sense, right?! lol!). I might make some icons yet not sure.

Send up a signal when you want the Wolfe Pack to dig you out. Stay warm and safe.

 Thanks slower I appreciate it! The snow trucks just came through for the first time today about right before midnight. It's crazy! It needs to clear up so I can get to the store, lol! I'll try and stay warm but wow is it cold out there, in the negatives!

Everyone else getting this weather stay safe and warm too!

Kristine in her review says:
Is it just me, or is Ryan Wolfe really copping a downright bitchy attitude this season? It’s a blast to watch, but sometimes it seems like Ryan has a bit of a chip on his shoulder. He’s awfully snide with Keith Palmer when he goes to cordon off the shuttle, telling the nervous businessman that he can’t fit “the whole ship in my crime lab” and promising to be “gentle” before removing the section of the shuttle damaged by the small meteor. Ryan also opts out of taking the zero g ride with Jesse and Walter, telling Travers, “I didn’t go up with them because it’s called the vomit comet.” Ryan definitely seems sassier this season than he has in the past, and his lines usually elicit a chuckle.

Hasn't Ryan always been this way, at least since just before he was fired? Jonathan has the ability to make a snarky character very sympathetic and endearing. I am wondering though if the writers are intentionally expanding on this character trait this season to bring up some emotional issues for Ryan. It is pretty clear that he thinks Walter and Jesse have "intruded" on the seniority pecking order in the lab. I am of the opinion that Ryan either had to raise himself without too much guidance from father figures or that he comes from an abusive past, and that expresses itself as being overly ambitious and super sensitive. I really hope they start giving us some background on Ryan soon!

I agree with you Theresa, that's pretty much how Ryan has always been except for the first season when he was new to everything. I don't think he's bitchy and I think he was like this a lot last season (I've missed it!) with the sarcastic comments and so on. I disagree with her review but it is just a review, her opinion, not fact or what everyone thinks. :)

I too don't think Ryan is bitchy, snarky and sassy yes.I have often wondered If Ryan came from a background where perhaps the father figure was overly critical,or perhaps had an older sibling that was great at everything, which could also make him over ambitious and sensitive. It would be nice to get some background info. The review is just Kristine's opinion and I've disagreed before when it comes to Ryan.I often think she doesn't get his character.

I had to think about that for a second, my name is Kristine too! LOL! But not many call me that here so that's why it confused me for a few! I did know there was another Kristine here and our opinions often are very different.

About the vomit-comet thing, that wasn't Ryan being snarky or anti-social. He's afraid of heights, but doesn't want to admit it. A lot of girls might admit it, but guys are different. They feel if they admit their phobias, they'll be seen as weaker. Ryan in the crane (in "Working Crew" last season) for example. He didn't want to go up there, but he did and was nervous the whole time. He actually yelled out when the thing shook. Cal asked what was wrong and Ryan made up some excuse rather than admit that he's afraid of heights. So when Travers asked why he didn't go with Walter and Jesse, he made it sound like he had motion sickness as opposed to fear of heights because motion sickness is in his mind, more acceptable and doesn't diminish his masculinity (as he thinks a fear of heights would).

I know a lot of people probably forgot about the scene in WC and the writers of this show rarely reference anything from the past (especially for Ryan). So it probably came as such a shock that they had a small point of continuity [in this episode] that some people may not have recognized it as continuity. I know I was shocked and when I saw the preview and only Walter and Jesse were there, I wondered why Ryan didn't get to go. At that time, I didn't realize that the thing J&W were in would actually be in the air. I thought it'd turn out to be some kind of simulator at the space station. I mean, there is a space station in FL, right?

About the scene with the suspect:

Mac, Calleigh, Horatio, Danny, Nick, Cath, Grissom, Sara, Stella too have at one time or another gotten snarky with a suspect/killer. Even Speed was guilty of it a time or two. And Aiden and Warrick. And even normally sweet, patient Greg (remember Mrs. James? LOL!). And compared to scenes I've seen of the other CSIs getting snarky with suspects, what Ryan said was very very very tiny/minor in comparrisson.

I think Ryan talking to the suspect/one of the killers that way is fine. I personally love it when the CSIs get snarky with a suspect/killer, especially if they are guilty and/or extremely cocky (which that guy definitely was). Unless they're preaching to them or something like Mac often does (not that that bothers me a whole lot, but it does sometimes lol). I don't think it was bitchy, just snarky and sarcastic and hilarious. ALL of the CSIs have done this to one suspect at one time or another. None of them are immune. It comes with the job. Sometimes with some of these killers, it takes all a CSI has not to reach out and strangle the life out of them. Being sarcastic/snarky with them is the lesser of the two evils.

The suspect was being way unreasonable. A man died in that ship for crying out loud. He made himself look even more suspicious by having a problem with it. An innocent person would have said, "take whatever you need to solve the crime and clear my/this company's name" to which someone with authority might have replied "if we have to destroy anything, the city will reimburse you". But because that guy got cocky and all "you have no right to do this", it was justified completely. That guy was a creep who cared about nothing but money and didn't give a crap if one of his paying customers had to die to save his own pathetic life (bastard). So, I had no problem with Ryan being snarky with him.

I don't think Ryan was near as snarky this time as he was that time when that drug dealer killed that woman cause he thought she was a cop when she refused to do drugs with him. Ryan got all up in his face and was practically spitting nails as he said "you know why she didn't want to do drugs with you? SHE WAS PREGNANT!" And he looked like he wanted to snap the guy's neck. That too was highly justified, but that was eons (aka seasons) ago. So, I don't really think this is a new thing... its just that Ryan's getting more scenes (for the most part) this season than he has in past seasons.

It is pretty clear that he thinks Walter and Jesse have "intruded" on the seniority pecking order in the lab.

I disagree with this. I think he thinks that Jesse is hiding something and he's just curious, he's not really pressuring him for info. As for Walter, I think he was just teasing him when he said "a boy made a switch of shifts and now thinks he knows everything". It was sort of Ryan's long-winded way of saying "okay, smarty-pants"... but it came off as playful and teasing to me. I think he likes both guys because they didn't come in judging him. While he grew to have a somewhat friendship with Eric, things were a bit bumpy at first. So, Ryan was probably expecting the new guys to treat him badly and when they didn't, it took Ryan by surprise. But I don't think he resents them at all. Technically, Jesse would have more seniority because he's been on job (at a different place, yes, but still) for longer than Ryan has. I don't think Walter in anyway messes with the "pecking order" on the team. I think he's placed in basically the newbie status and I don't think that Ryan has a problem with that. I do think he gets along with Walter slightly better than Jesse. But with most brothers, the younger ones get along better because they look at their older brother as more of an authority figure... like next in line next to the parents.

I have often wondered If Ryan came from a background where perhaps the father figure was overly critical,or perhaps had an older sibling that was great at everything, which could also make him over ambitious and sensitive.

I could definitely see that being the case... him living in big bro's shadow. Or even possibly a big sister. Maybe he made some mistakes as a kid and one or both parents constantly asked him "why can't you be more like your brother/sister?" That would definitely explain him being so eager to please. And his snarkiness could be a defense mechanisim. Like maybe he felt personally insulted by the guy complaining about the ship and the sarcasm just slipped out as a defense mechanisim.

I remembered that Ryan had a fear of heights and pointed it out in the spoiler thread.Even with out a fear of heights,I would think someone would still think twice about going up in something named "Vomit Comit".
I didn't think Ryan was anymore snarky than any of the other CSI's from any of the shows.I've always felt for the most part, there was a little bias against Ryan whenever he is mentioned by the reviewer.I'm pretty positive had it been another character ,there would be no problem.

Flack and Frank even Brass are snarky cops, they are at the top of the list for being snarky and sassy.. even sarcastic... so what's wrong with a snarky CSI? I mean, Ryan isn't HALF as bad as the ones mentioned above. I know Nick can be snarky (or well, Nick is just blunt, but still-) ... and I do remember that side of Greg coming out as well. We've seen it in every one from time to time. Me, personally, I LOVE that side of Ryan. I can't explain it but through out all the years (even a period of liking CSI: NY better than Miami) Ryan has ALWAYS been my favorite CSI character. It used to be Greg and Nick, but when Ryan came onto Miami, he took the cake and ran with it. I haven't even looked back. I adore every single thing about him. I love how he is protective (Like in S5(?) when someone was about to lose their house, and he slammed the cop into the hood- when he was the body guard in S6-- And the best part was protecting Billy. Those are just a few times I recall... His attitude makes him who we, the Wolfe pack, LOVE!

She apparently just does not get his character. I know it's her opinion, and I'm fine with that, but anyone who understands his character (while they still may not LIKE him), would know that he isn't all of those things... in the worst way. ;)

I agree Blinded .I must have been in a hurry to run out to store a while ago.I could have sworn that I put in my previous post that the reviewer just didn't get Ryan's character,we must think a lot alike.
Ryan has always been my favorite too.I like CSI's on the other shows, but I never really had a favorite until Ryan came along. From his very first apearence, I thought he had something special.

No Greatfan... I actually read it in one of your post that now I can't seem to find?! I must have been reading to fast just now. LMAO. It's there somewhere... I just don't know where. I meant to say in my post, 'like someone else said', but again, my brain is dead. Been a long, hard week! HA HA! Now I want new CSI: Miami but that isn't happening. I'm just going to rewatch last weeks... haha! *hearts* LOL

^^^LOL,maybe we are more alike than we know.

Edit:
I found the post,LOL.It's the earliest post I made toward the top of the page.

I totally agree. I could have very easily seen the same scene/tone/dialogue with a different character, & it would never have crossed my mind to consider him, or anyone else, "bitchy" -- just seems like part of thier territory as CSI's as far as I'm concerned.

It is pretty clear that he thinks Walter and Jesse have "intruded" on the seniority pecking order in the lab.

I think I'm gonna have to disagree as well -- I think WE feel they've intruded a little, but I honestly don't see it from Ryan. He seems content with both Jesse & Walter being members of the team. I agree his comments to them have been more out of fun & sarcasm rather than anger or bitterness. I just really think tptb would put a whole heck of alot more emphasis on it if we were supposed to be seeing Ryan feeling uneasy about either one of them.

I wouldn't say Ryan was bitchy at all. He get sarcastic and snarky at times but he usually doesn't get like that unless he gets it first.

I wish they would give us some insight to Ryan's background. I love seeing what makes people tick and it would be interesting to know why Ryan reacts to things a certain way.

I have to admit when I heard it was JESSE and Walter up in the ship I was a bit miffed; why wasn't Ryan until I was reminded that Ryan was afraid of heights then it made perfect sense. It sounded to me as if he might have been asked and declined, and GNRF has a good point; if he said he had motion sickness, Ryan felt he wouldn't get as much flack than if he said he had a fear of heights.

I think Ryan talking to the suspect/one of the killers that way is fine. I think all of the CSIs have gotten snarky with a suspect at one time or another. Sometimes when a suspect is being unreasonable (as the owner of the ship) or arrogant, it is sometimes the only way to respond. Let them know that they aren't getting the best of you. I liked that scene; Ryan let the guy know he was going to do it whether he liked it or not.

She apparently just does not get his character. I know it's her opinion, and I'm fine with that, but anyone who understands his character (while they still may not LIKE him), would know that he isn't all of those things... in the worst way. ;)

I get the feeling that the Kristine who review the show (not to be confused with our Kristine:lol:) doesn't like Ryan anyway, and yes, just as Blinded says, doesn't get the character, so I take anything she says with a grain of salt.

Don't you just love it when a suspect is like "you can't do that!" when the CSIs have a warrant to do exactly what the suspect is saying they can't do? Ryan had a warrant to do whatever necessary to that ship. Horatio told the guy beforehand that ship now belonged to the them (so they could process it for evidence).

I'm sorry, but I gotta say that any civilian shelling out lots of money to take a trip in a spaceship should have to prepare themselves and get trained first just like the astronaunts do (just not as extensively, but enough). I sure as heck would ask that it be part of the package if I were gonna go.
