Ratings Discussion

Frybynight, you are exactly right. Based on this poor start, I wonder if TPTB will make any changes to win the fans back.

Before making death predictions remember that "CSI" wasn't up against what will be their usual competition on Wednesday nights. NBC went all out for premier week ratings by making "SVU" a two-hour episode and airing it all in one night. Unless NBC and ABC change their schedules "CSI" will normally be going up against "Nashville", which they beat fairly easily last season, on ABC and the new "Ironside" on NBC. I do wonder why NBC moved "Chicago Fire" which showed it could beat "CSI" in the ratings to put something untried in the slot?

Ratings for Take the Money and Run (Should go over 10mil once the 'live + 3 come out)

Over on CBS, Survivor (10 mil/2.6) rose two tenths from its premiere, while CSI (9.5 mil/2.1) ticked up one tenth, with both shows gaining viewers. Criminal Minds (11 mil/2.7) dipped a smidge.

Still great ratings. As long as the show keeps surviving cast rotations, it can air until they run it into the ground.

I bet CSI: is glad that Chicago Fire moved to Tuesday nights.

I think CSI would be burned by Fire if it was still on Wednesday nights.

Sorry!! I couldn't help it. :guffaw:

Considering the potential it should have had it should have been a lot better than this! I didn't watch so...

Ratings for Frame by Frame:

Airing its 300th episode, CSI (2.1/6) saw the return of Marg Helgenberger to the show on CBS last night. The 10 PM show also was the one rise of the night among the non-World Series telecasts with a 5% bop over last week to match its October 2 season high. Wednesday’s strongly promoted CSI also had its best viewership numbers of the season so far with 10.37 million watching.

I bet they'll keep on putting Survivor / Criminal Minds / CSI on that timeslot next season. It's a good combination, it would be crazy to change it.

Why should they? CSI beat Chicago Fire almost every time they were up against each other last year and the only reason CF is doing well this year is because it has The Voice as a lead in. Law & Order: SVU was a far tougher opponent considering the two shows have a larger audience overlap.

I just thought that CF had burned CSI every week. Guess not. :)
