One thing that annoys me the most...

Hello there.
[usual intro about being new and CSI being the best show, like... ever!!!].
I think I watch every single episode of all 3 shows. Love it, it's exciting...
BUT...
One thing that buggs me for the last several years... Is it so hard (expensive) to get some kind of IT consultant??? Yes, they solve the crimes in one hour, can zoom a crappy picture from the camera phone so much that you can see a mosquito's penis if you want... I am not talking about the improbable things that just look cool.
I, being an IT specialist (I hope I am), want to cry when I see the IP address that looks like 366.489.254.35, when they trace a modem call to some hole in the middle of nowhere... Basically, the computer stuff. It won't look any less cool if they have someone to tell them to chenge small things, but the show will be a little bit more real.
But maybe it's just me... I understand that 99% of population won't have a clue what the hell I am talking about here... it's ok. I just wanted to release some steam after watching CSI:M 403.

one thing - just remembered... All of them seem to be extremley knowledgable about EVERYTHINH. Yet in the older episode of CSI :M; Caily (Sorry guys, it is sometimes hard to spell some names correctly me being a foreigner :)) looked very dumb talking about spinners (you know, those on the cars). :)
Sorry if I unintentionally offended anyone talking about anything in this post...

Artistic license--a lot of the stuff that they talk about is impossible, but they use it to make the story more understandable, more dramatic, more---interesting.

I honestly wouldn't want to sit around and watch a bunch of idiots solving cases--then I would watch--uhm, nevermind. It's true that sometimes shows like these can make the viewer feel like idiots...after all, it is referred to as an idiot-box.

lol I sort of get what you're saying, but imho CSI and CSI: Miami as a whole do very well.

nothing annoys me in csi if were talking about csi i cant quite get it

That kind of stuff used to annoy me when the show first came on. I watched the first episode and I thought to myself "this is ridiculous". But I came back to it about 2 years later, when my girlfriend got really into the show, and I thought to myself that if they had to show how slow this stuff would happen in reality and the way the scientific stuff really works, we'd be watching them spend an entire season on a case, and even then they might not solve it. So the short of it, the artistic license makes for good tv.

Yeah. what really annoys me is sometimes they're trying to find a suspect so they go into their apartment and find him dead and so without gloves that pick something up without taking any photos and say, "look! this must be what they used to murder that other person." it's really annoying because they do it so often. i'm surprised that most of their evidence hasn't been rendered in-admissible in court.

But even if they did pick it up - its obvious when they dust it for prints that it was their own prints and they can't really mix things up that way. But if its about following crime scene investigation rules, they are breaking the law by touching it without gloves...
I dont find much annoying about LV - except when someone ends up getting in trouble for a minor screw up - i mean cut them some slack they work so hard ( like Catherine when she accidentally blew the lab up ) - like she meant to do it, everyone got so mad at her... errrrr

Well I could (and sometimes do) complain on how they can use a security camera picture and get the sort of detail you were talking about. You may know about computers, but I know enough about film and the properties of digital picutre to know that unless the camera in question has a really high mp count you can only zoom in so far before you start to degrade your picture quality. So whenever they manage to make one small area and with a few clicks make it into a really clear and useable image I just shake my head... However, I go along with it, because I know why they are doing it...

But I have another thought... maybe the messing with ISP is deliberate. They want to make a ISP that can't exist... have you ever noticed that most phone numbers on TV begin with 555? (Other then an area code that is) That way they don't accidently use a real life number... I think it was in the film "Bruce Almighty" they did use a number - one chose at random that was an real life number... and the person had a number of calls after that... It might be the same idea... they don't want use an ISP that might belong to someone...

lol, my brother is an expert on all that stuff and he is always telling me how impossible some of the things are that they do, but i choose to ignore him because i love the show so much that i don't care. The only one that bugged me was in committed when they got the audio sounds of the vase.

They don't want to use anything that might belong to someone. Ever noticed in movies and television the most commonly used number begins with a 555? Yeah--

It's kind of irritating, the more you learn about something the more you see your favourite shows' cops turn into--bad cops and investigators. Law and Order and CSI--it's upsetting. I don't even want to get into Third Watch--not that I watch that show---ever. You see them take investigations in the wrong areas, rule out really simple things (like Grissom with Paul Millander...I bet after he freaked out in the interrogation room he slapped his forehead repeatedly and muttered Stupid, Stupid, Stupid! to himself).

Anyhow...

i have several.....

~when horatio tilts his head when hes listening to someone talk....it was really cute at first but after a while it got kinda annoying.
