Has been renewed by CBS.

CBS Renews ‘CSI: Cyber’, ‘Odd Couple, ‘POI’, ‘Hawaii’, ‘Good Wife’, ‘NCIS’s, More

CBS just made its final renewals for next season, picking up 10 scripted series, reality staples Survivor, The Amazing Race and Undercover Boss and newsmagazines 60 Minutes and 48 Hours. No major surprises (and bloodletting) on the list of renewed scripted series, with all shows except for bubble series Stalker, The McCarthys and Battle Creek, which already had been unofficially cancelled, coming back, including CSI: Cyber, The Odd Couple, Person of Interest, NCIS, NCIS: Los Angeles, Hawaii Five-0, Criminal Minds, Elementary, The Good Wife and Blue Bloods. That is besides the mothership CSI series, which has not been picked up for a 16th season but has not been cancelled either. I hear the network continues to work on a finale plan for next season, probably a movie.

Weren't we already introduced to Deeks's mother back a couple of seasons ago or so? (Along with Callen's, Sam's, & Kensi's)

NCIS: LA Season 7: Pamela Reed Lands 'Fun' Role — as Deeks' Mother

Marty Deeks and Leslie Knope share a mom…?

Parks and Rec alum Pamela Reed will guest-star on CBS’ NCIS: Los Angeles this fall, in a role that promises to delight (and perhaps intrigue) viewers.

“In the second episode a new character is introduced, and the audience will be delighted,” showrunner Shane Brennan told TVLine on Friday, before the casting of Mrs. Deeks was announced at EW.com. “When this person appears, you’re going to go, ‘Oh my God, this is so much fun!'”

What’s more, it promises to shed some light on the mop-topped lawman. “It’s a very revealing moment for [Deeks],” Brennan added. “Definitely watch Episode 2!”

In addition to her recurring run as Marlene Knope, Reed’s TV credits include The United States of Tara, Jericho, The Home Court, Family Album and, yes, an episode of NCIS sire JAG (as Major General Willsey).

Callen, Sam, & Deeks' mothers made a cameo appearance in an episode, but they weren't playing the characters mothers. Kensi's mom we did see.

LAST MAY AND COMING UP, ON CBS…

SEASON FINALE: The ongoing case involving Arkady and his personal connection to an oil tanker lead Callen, Sam, Deeks and Kensie to Moscow, where the team assumed multiple undercover identities in order to locate their suspects. Also, Callen uncovered new information regarding his father.

COMING UP: The seventh season premieres with Callen embarking on a secret project, leaving Sam and the entire team in the dark. After Hetty demands his operation be shut down, the team is tasked with locating Callen before he finds himself in over his head. @NCISLA_CBS

NCIS: LA Season 7 First Photos: Callen Goes Rogue, & The Team's After Him!

Callen puts the “G.” in “OMG” when NCIS: Los Angeles opens Season 7, as seen in these exclusive photos from the CBS drama’s Monday, Sept. 21 premiere.

Picking up three months after the finale, in which Hetty (played by Linda Hunt) informed/fibbed to Callen (Chris O’Donnell) that his father was dead, “We discover that Callen has been doing his own investigation into something,” showrunner Shane Brennan tells TVLine. And as a result of his rogue op, “He finds himself in a very difficult situation with Hetty and Sam (LL Cool J), because he’s not telling them what he’s got himself caught up in.”

Brennan says that although Callen’s agenda is ultimately revealed in the premiere (titled “Active Measures),” “It’s not resolved.” Rather, “In the tradition of this show, we plant the seeds of something to come, and it has a fairly major impact halfway through the season, in a double-episode.”

Ask Auseillo

Question: Will fans of NCIS: LA’s Deeks and Kensi get to see their relationship develop more through Season 7? —Tony
Ausiello:
That would be a definitive yes. “Things must be getting serious if he makes the choice to introduce her to his mom (played by Pamela Reed),” says Daniela Ruah, who plays Kensi. “Throughout that episode, Deeks gets calls on his phone, he doesn’t tell Kensi who it is, he doesn’t pick up… so you can see he’s making the decision about whether he wants to take this step or not. And then he ends up taking it,” previews the actress. “I like that they’ve made it a thought-out decision.”

Here's an article from CSI Files with a collection of news/videos/tweets/photos (77 embedded) from the past few weeks, including:
  • a 30-second preview of season 7
  • questions/quotes/casting info from various sites (including some previously posted in here :))
  • tweets/photos from the 150th episode party
  • a "tap off" challenge video with Renée Felice Smith, Barrett Foa, Daniela Ruah and Eric Christian Olsen
  • a link to a short film starring Renée Felice Smith
  • and a bunch of photos and tweets from filming, including images of the cast and crew

TV Line fall tv spoilers

In the season opener, Callen's secretive, rogue investigation into "something," showrunner Shane Brennan cryptically teases, "creates a lot of tension" between him, Sam and Hetty and will have a "fairly major" payoff midway through the season, in a double-episode event. Other fall outings introduce Deeks' mom (guest star Pamela Reed), mark the series' 150th episode (which features a "very funny" undercover op for Kensi and Deeks) and welcome a visit from NCIS' Michael Weatherly (whose DiNozzo "is in virtually every scene"). Elsewhere, Eric "wants to be more of a macho man and prove himself," Brennan says, and to that end he will (amusingly) get weapons training from Sam, while the Internal Affairs investigation that has hounded Deeks "comes to a head."

BONUS SPOILER!: Bar Paly, who was introduced in the May finale as Arkady Kolcheck's daughter Anna, will return "in a very unexpected way," for a "big, big, big storyline," Brennan shares.

RETURN DATE: Monday, Sept. 21 at 10/9c (CBS)

Since I'm not a fan of "NCIS" I could do without an episode in w hich DiNozzo "is in virtually every scene". :(
