Deeks and Kensi: What happens after the kiss on NCIS: Los Angeles? — Moni, via Twitter
ADAM: Well, you're assuming that Deeks makes it out of Sidorov's torture trap alive. (Just kidding, that's a pretty safe bet.) But executive producer Shane Brennan cautions viewers not to to make too much of the liplock. "It wasn't a candlelit dinner," he says. "It was almost a challenge that he threw down to her. I think it surprised both of them." But Deeks may feel differently about the kiss after his brush with death.

8:00-9:00 PM NCIS (11th season premiere)

10:00-11:00 PM PERSON OF INTEREST (3rd season premiere)
Any chance that Peter Cambor will be coming back to NCIS: LA next season? Even briefly? It seems like a great chance to bring Nate back, for the fallout of the finale. –Tracie
You’ve got a bright bean there, Tracie – since I can report that Cambor/Nate will in fact resurface early into Season 5.
SEASON FINALE: Sam and his wife, Michelle, a former CIA operative, went undercover in Sidorov's gang as Callen called upon his biggest adversary, Janvier, to intercept the sale of stolen nuclear weapons to international enemies. The mission was compromised when Janvier revealed Sam's identity to Sidorov, putting Sam in grave danger. The cliffhanger ending found Sam and Deeks being tortured in order to reveal the true identity of Sam's wife, while the rest of the team was unaware of their whereabouts. @NCISLA_CBS
NEW SEASON: The fifth season resumes with Sam and Deeks being tortured for information on Sam's wife. Meanwhile, even as the team's goal is to locate their partners, the agency's overall operation is to apprehend Sidorov and the stolen nuclear weapons. Also, the series will mark its 100th episode early in the season.
Any new spoilers on NCIS: Los Angeles? — Marc
ADAM: Executive producer (and hyperbolic quote-giver) Shane Brennan insists that the conclusion of last year's cliff-hanger in the Season 5 premiere "will have the greatest consequence of any story we've told." So what does that mean exactly? Although it's safe to assume that Sam and Deeks will escape torture, their emotional scars won't heal instantly. In fact, the post-traumatic stress will be too much for somebody to bear. "This season, someone will leave the team," Brennan reports. Guesses?
Can you give us any hints on how Deeks’ mom will come into play this season on NCIS: Los Angeles? –Anna
Actually, somewhat interestingly, she won’t – meaning, I hear that at this time there are no plans to introduce her. (This topic, on which I have received multiple reader emails, is apparently the result of some game of “Telephone.” Sorry!)
On NCIS: LA, will we learn more about Callen’s past? –Molly F.
Oh yes. As showrunner Shane Brennan shared with me, “You know that little tea tin sitting on the mantle in Callen’s house, filled with little pieces of his past, pieces of that jigsaw? Well, he adds another very significant piece of the puzzle to that box” early this season. “It’s incredibly emotional.”
PREVIOUSLY ON... | Sidorov tortured Sam -- and when last we saw he was going at Deeks even more brutally! -- to secure intel on Quinn. (At least Deeks planted one on Kensi before all hell broke loose.)
COMING UP NEXT | The question obviously isn't if Deeks and Sam get out alive, but how. Promising a "big surprise" in the premiere (which picks up right where we left off), show boss Shane Brennan says, "Just when we think they're about to be rescued, maybe they're not. It gets pretty brutal for the guys." As such, expect ramifications that "ripple very deeply into the season -- not just for them, but for their relationships with others" -- including, yes, Deeks/Kensi. "Their relationship goes to a new level, to a place that a lot of these shows don't go," Brennan hints. All told, NCIS: LA is looking at its most intricately planned season ever. From premiere to finale, "We know every turning point," Brennan notes, "and it really is quite powerful."
TVLINE BONUS SPOILER | Miguel Ferrer not only is now featured in the title sequence, but Granger is placed in "very serious jeopardy" in the milestone 100th episode, which is titled "Reznikov, N" and "focuses pretty squarely on Callen, his past and his journey."
RETURN DATE | Tuesday, Sept. 24 at 9/8c (CBS)
He’s Pelant without the pesky murder habit!
Bones vet Andrew Leeds is taking his well-honed computer skills to NCIS: Los Angeles later this season in a significant recurring role, TVLine has learned exclusively.
He’ll play Booker, the team’s newest tech operator who is smart, guarded, focused and curt. His eye for detail is an asset. His OCD? Not so much.
Leeds’ Bones‘ baddie Pelant was an IT instructor-turned-serial hacktivist/killer. His reign of terror on the show came to an end last month, although — as TVLine reported earlier this week — Leeds is set to reprise his signature role in early 2014.
