Mac/Stella #14 - Cause you can't fight the inevitable!

Happy New Year, Smacked Family! I think 2009 is going to be a good year for Smacked. After all, the first half of 2008, when s4 was on, was good for us. This year we will have a make-up scene between Mac and Stella, presumably by 5.17. It's also very possible we will have a Mac-saving Stella scene if this plot of hers to get the Greek man goes wrong, and I think it will, because he is crafty and bad and violent. He has already attacked Stella once, and he could do it again. Plus we have

the domestic violence case, which I think will upset Stella, and she will go to Mac for support, or he will come to her. Stella went to Danny for help with 'breaking the rules' to get the Greek man, but when she needs emotional support it is Mac she will go to. He is the only one she talked to about Frankie (well, she talked to Don about what happened in All Access, but he was taking her statement).

Don't worry too much, eyewitness, the spoiler reports don't mention every scene in an episode, especially if the scene is not a major part of the plot or a story arc. So there could be a scene like karu describes, but they just don't mention it.

I love your scene too, Asprine. Here is mine -
Mac and Stella go for dinner at an Italian restaurant, and then go to watch the fireworks (they have fireworks at the NYC New Years celebrations, right?) Midnight strikes. Stella watches the fireworks but Mac is looking at her. Stella says 'Aren't they beautiful?' Mac says 'Not as beautiful as you.' Stella turns to him surprised, and Mac steps closer to her, leans in, and kisses her softly on the lips. He pulls back just a little, his eyes meeting hers, waiting for her reaction. He looks a little nervous. Stella smiles at him and slides her hand behind his neck and up into his hair, pulling him into a passionate kiss as the fireworks continue to explode in beautiful colours, and somewhere nearby people are singing Auld Lang Syne.

I was trying to think of ways to objectively determine how great i think smacked really is (like measuring in a scale). And what i came up with is a "degrees of chemistry" rating.

And as i said earlier on this topic, i think Mac and Stella are one of the current TV couples with the top top top best chemistry, if not the best at all. (I love Tiva too, currently)

Anyways, i was looking at past shows which had couples with great chemistry too, in order to compare it with smacked (you know, just to prove how great smacked chemistry really is, all time, not just currently). Ok, looking back, i guess the best chemistry i can remember was Sidney/Vaughn on Alias. To me, that's as good as shipping can get. Those 2 were so great togheter that they actually dated for some time off-screen. You just can't look at them and say they should not be togheter. Then there were Michael Samuelle and Nikita from La Femme Nikita, which is really close to Sid/Vaughn in the chemistry hotness. And of course Mulder and Scully. Great chemistry. Can you imagine think of Gillian Anderson without thinking of David Duchovny?? I can't. Another one would be Luke and Lorelai from Gilmore Girls and Jonathan and Jeniffer Hart from "From Hart to Hart" (i dunno if you'll remember this one, it's an 80's thing, old stuff!). I ship lots of other couples (hey don't we all when we watch any show??), but the above mentioned are the "golden standard", you know what i mean?

Well, to me, with Gary and Melina it's the same. Stella and Mac are as good as all ships i have mentioned, they are within the golden standard . If i had to choose one couple only for first place, i'd call it a deuce, as it would be a hard choice. But, trying to put things on a scale, Smacked is BIG, and i mean REALLY BIG, GREAT REALLY BIG (hey watch out for the gutter, girls!! hehe). There is no way they can keep them separated for much longer. No way!! TPTB cannot fight the inevitable!!

All I know out of those other couples are Mulder and Scully, and Tony/Ziva though I know quite a bit about Michael and Nikita from Debbie's posts. I agree that Mac and Stella have the best chemistry of any tv couple. It's definitely big, and Mac and Stella are definitely up there in the 'top tv couples'. And they're not even officially together! Their chemistry is so natural, and it has developed in a belivable way over the seasons. They're just amazing.
Love Gary and Melina's chemistry too. They are so sweet together. If they weren't both married, I'd want them together in RL. After all, Melina's only 12 years younger than Gary, which isn't really that big a difference today.

Remember we were talking about how gorgeous Mac and Stella's kids would be? Well, both Melina and Gary's kids are gorgeous in real life, so that shows Mac and Stella's kids would be gorgeous too.

I thought to celebrate the New Year, I would bring some more oldie Smacked pics from the CSI NY fest I had last week. So, here come the pics from Triborough...

I just watched the eppy last night. I hated her from the beginning. She always wanted attentions. There were two scenes I loved most. First, Stella said most people were intimidated by her, but Stella was not. :thumbsup: :thumbsup:And Mac rejected her in her face. :thumbsup::thumbsup: :guffaw: :guffaw::guffaw:

Currently and all time, when put side by side to all these other great chemistry couples, Stella and Mac rock!! And they could rock even more if TPTB had explored more into that chemistry already!! They underuse Melina and Gary so much. I wonder what do the writers want?? Do they need forensic evidence of couple chemistry in order to start a relationship or something? It can't be that hard! Specially whne they look like a married couple already. Come on, TPTB!!

Aw, a Baby Taylor would be cute, though I'd prefer that (the baby) to be in the final episode, or the last season, but with Mac and Stell being together before that. It is a crime show after all. I can actually see Mac and Stella picking the name 'Sophie' for their little girl, perhaps her name would be 'Sophie Claire?' Or maybe Aidan for a middle name? But Aidan can be a boy's name too, so they could call their baby boy Aidan for the female Aidan who died. Or maybe Sam (for the little boy in Necrophilia Americana) or Danny, or Don. And of course there would be big brother Reed.

I like the idea of Mac and Stella going on a double date with Flack and Angell. Or with Hawkes and his girlfriend, if/when he gets one. I see them double dating with F/A more than D/L because F/A would be similar as a couple to Mac and Stella, more mature and taking their relationship slower. Plus, Stella and Angell and Mac and Flack are buddies, closer than either Stella and Lindsay or Mac and Danny. And of course D/L will be busy with the baby. I think Mac, Stella, Flack and Angell would all enjoy those 2 films more as well.

Maybe we should take over TPTB's headquarters, and start writing eps.

I agree that Gary and Melina are underused. Never mind the lack of Smacked, something that annoys me also is that they keep throwing she and he nits at Mac and Stella, rather than doing more interesting, non-romantic development - like Mac and Reed's relationship, or Stella's childhood. I think the character development for Mac and Stella is much better in the two seasons they are both single (s1 and s4) than in the others. Though there was Reed in s3, but that was a storyline that had nothing to do with P. s2 had some nice Mac development too, and he was single that season. Mac and Stella's romantic development is nice and subtle and gradual, so it doesn't get in the way of great personal storylines for the both of them, such as Mac getting over Claire, Mac meeting Reed, Stella's place burning down, her finding out she maybe had AIDS, the foster sister storyline. And Smacked scenes can be put into these character-centric eps without making the whole episode about Smacked, so other fans still enjoy it. For instance, the tie scene in What You See is What You See, or Mac offering Stella his spare room in RND. Smacked can even be put into case-centric eps without making the episode all about Smacked, Recycling, Triborough, and Hush are good examples.
s1 and s4 are also the most Smacked seasons.
I also think Hawkes and Sid and Adam and Flack are underused too

About what's within the spoiler quotes, i'm sure they will. The producers said such relationship would be "revisited" later in the show, when asked by TV Guide.
In that same answer the production also said tha Adam/Stella was very unlikely to happen; if you add that to the fact we were told Stella would have a REAL love, plus the fact that the fireman didn't return and there's no mention to any other he-nit any time soon, that ultimately makes us think such real love can only be Mac!! But go figure what's in TPTB's minds. They change minds so quickly. Just out of the blue they simply completely changed the whole D/L storyline already!! It was an 180° degrees turn with D/L, so go figure! You never know!

Yeah, let's keep repetaing that until TPTB finally realize it. The entire universe conspires in favor of smacked... :luvlove:

I have this theory that i think Stella might somehow resemble Mac's deceased wife, but i think Mac doesen't conciously realize that (that's obvious, because he would then feel bad about stella since it would be like working with the ghost of claire...).
Facts that support my theory: firstly, we had Reed to think Stella was Mac's wife (therefore his mother, even though he'd never seen her), and when Reed later asks Mac about Claire, Mac says she had dark curly hair. Stella has curly hair. OK now this: I was just watching a re-run on AXN of one of the cabbie-killer episodes (the one with Quinn), and when Mac tells Reed off about the cabbie killer he says something like (don't remember tue exact phrase): "You're just like you're mother Claire, you're stubborn and you're capable of anything to get what you want, and you will not rest until you've made it." -> NOW TELL ME HOW ISN'T THAT A PERFECT DESCRIPTION OF STELLA HERSELF!

We're telling you, TPTB, the entire universe conspires for them to be together... we're telling you, listen!! :scream::scream::scream::scream::scream::scream:

Edited to add this: and they could also bring back Reed as a recurring character, that would not only make a family out of smacked, but there it is a character that could add to the show (and to Mac's character development and history). At least he's much better of a character than all the she and he-nits.

Oh and as for Reed coming back as a recurring character, that would be awesome. I'd love to see Mac and Reed having some kind of interaction. Well, although Mac and Stella getting together does sound promising, I wouldn't get my hopes built up too much, TPTB can be really mean when they want us too...

So I just finished watching "The cost of living" and although I got "irked" again at the lack of concern by Mac for Stellas attack (Flack seemed more upset) there was alot of Mac Stella partnership. I am thinking they are holding off with Macs concern for the future eppie where Stella really gets in trouble, We just saw eppie 12 and it was not untill 16 in season four when Mac offered his room to Stella so I am thinking they are holding off on Smack like they did last season. I dont think they are still mad at each other from the arguement from the last eppie because Stella went ahead and did exactly what she was told NOT to do (naughty, naughty!) and Mac has no idea she did it BUT when he finds out!!! Also he wont be mad because I'm thinking she is going to be in some "Big time" trouble and he will be more concerned then mad. If he would have acted too concerned in "Cost of living" they would have let the cat out of the bag and with the D/L thing and the F/A thing they have to hold off and the S/M thing will be at the end of the season to carry into next season! They can not keep throwing "Love prospects" at them every season it is becoming to unbelivable and when we say "Cant they see it" They absolutely can and purposely are "Holding off" because out of the three "relationships" S/M is the biggest and they will hit us out of the blue while everyone is concentrating on D/L and F/A nobody is going to suspect S/M!!! I wasn't too afraid of She-Nit i must confess. But it bores me they create 14000 couples (some good, some not that good) instead of giving a chance to Smacked. And i'm not just saying the beginning of the relationship..I'm talking about those special "closeness" scenes we have enjoyed along all these years. Frankly, beyond litle moments S5 has been quite annoying.
At least if they don't want to start this season with SMACled at least i expect as Rach said: a SMACked balance with their good moments. Heck! they had to write them OOC in several scripts.
Hopefully it will be just you have said: they will surprise us in later episodes. For my own sanity i hope so!

Both you and Asprine have a great scenario. In your case, people don't need to look up to the sky for firework. They would be burnt by the fire from Mac & Stella. :lol:

Totally agreed. Actually Mac & Stella is not my first ship but I didn't join any forum to discuss the others. I'm glad that I found this thread. Then I could enjoy enthusiasm for them with every one of you.

So why not do Mac and Stella? The writers must think it's because it's a smart choice in not putting two people with PERFECT chemistry together. Let's put Danny and Lindsay together and give them a baby. Oh and then Flack and Angell. Now I don't mind DL at this point, and I like FA, but I LOVE Mac and Stella together. From the first episode I saw (...Comes Around) I knew that Peyton and Mac didn't have the good chemistry. I was like Mac and Stella have amazing chemistry. Anyway, that's my two cents.

Lori I totally agree with what you said, there's been a lot of romance this season, with DL and FA, so I think if Mac and Stella were made a couple this season, the writers would be going into over drive. I'd rather have more cute little friendship moments this season, and hold off on a Smacked relationship, then have a proper relationship between them next season when all the other things have cooled off a bit, I think that would be more realistic. Plus, I don't want TPTB hurrying into a Mac/Stella relationship and messing it up...

All I know is that it is taking FOREVER PLEASE to get back to the show!
It looks like they will be filming in a couple of weeks.

Debbie: I have no fear of she nit either. I think they just threw that out there at us to screw with our heads! Just like the fireman,(miss your fireman avie by the way it cracks me up!!)

They are creating some new loose ends with there Ella and greek guy and baby messer- monroe (the M&M peanut). But they did that with Clay Dobsen,the D.J. Pratt guy, and the Shane guy who framed Hawkes. They are introducing Flacks sister and Hawkes girlfriend, brought Sid and Adam on as regulars so thy have a lot of new storyline to work with, but unless Gary or Melina leave the show (and I know they are quite happy with there success)they have to write them in, and since they ARE partners and the two main characters we will always have them. I guess they think the only way to keep there "Friendship theory" going is to keep throwing "bait" at us!!! It seems when they give them "Love interests" TPTB feel comfortable to bring them into "Smack" mode even with the length of the "Her" relationship always in the end where did they (Mac and Stella )turn?, each other of course. They finally quit because lets face it all the "bait relationships" are really lame, forced, and BORING! TPTB introduced them as a couple right from the start . I saw MIA/NYC nonstop pilot (Thanks for your efforts by the way Asprine!) yesterday and you could tell from the very first intro they were going to be great!! I think it has to do with the personal relationship as well as the professonal one being so close. When he made the "blow" comment Melina knew it was OOC for Gary and she gave that little "smirk!" Just like when early in season one and she found a name on a rooster and Reached up and cuped his one cheek with her hand and kissed the other, I found out in an interview from Gary that was not written in script and just Melinas playful nature! I am starting to convince myself that I dont mind the foot draging it is fun to watch but if they give a sense of "permenant commitment" we could all just sit back and enjoy the ride!! Most series wait untill the final season and that is sooo stupid because usually by then people are tired of waiting and "Move on" just like anything else in human nature "WE WANT IT NOW!!!
